(S04E24) What a great way to tie this whole season together. With only one episode left, the Male Noche gang from way back in the season premiere has returned and they want Horatio dead. Recall that H shut down a lot of the gang's Miami operations so it makes sense that they'd be holding a grudge.
Last week's cliffhanger didn't really lead to anything. The only purpose it served was to let us know that someone wanted to hit H. But no one was shot at his wedding (to Marisol) and I'm guessing this episode takes place about a week later. The Noches are finally on trial (that took a while...) but the courtroom proceedings don't go very smoothly. While on the stand, one of the Noche leaders grabs a gun from the prosecutor (it was evidence), tosses it to his buddy in the crowd, who then locks in a magazine and starts firing. Two of the Noche leaders got away, but only later do we find out why.
Then the unthinkable happens. While speaking with Delko, Marisol is shot in the stomach by a sniper rifle. To make matters worse, the Noches pull a car in front of her ambulance. It delayed her arrival at the hospital and ultimately, it led to Marisol dying a few hours later. The Noches couldn't get to Horatio but they could get to his new wife. Of course, Delko was a target too... but he only got grazed with the first bullet. Did anyone else find the secondary story completely ridiculous though? It was way too convenient to just have Delko's ex-girlfriend also on a balcony, aiming a sniper rifle at him. They could have tried to throw us off in a much more believable way.
Back to the Noches, they were having a gathering of Noche leaders from all over: Miami, Bolivia, El Salvadore, and more. Wolfe was able to track them and the cops busted in on the party. Horatio and Delko (in the best scene of the episode) drove one guy out into the swamps, held two guns to his face, and demanded to know who ordered the hit on Marisol. It was the guy from the stand in the courtroom. Now all they have to do is find him.
The season finale is next week and it's going to be good. We'll finally find out who the mole is too.

I'll never understand why whenever there is some form of happiness for Horatio something always happens to trash it. First his sister-in-law now his wife, seems as if he will always be the tragic figure from a Shakespear play. I have enjoyed all of the CSI's programs, but it seems as time goes by it becomes more of a Soap Opera instead of an investigation that the show was meant to be.

CSI Miami
my comment is about the Horatio Caine charactor, is their something wrong with neck, every scene his head is titled is it for effect. And the hands on the hips what is up with that! like last night shoot out with the killers in the Towncar, you shoot two of the three bad guys and after allof that you can do is stand with your hands on your hips. Please next season stop this pose!

Why in the world would the kill off Marisol, after beating cancer, then marrying Horatio.........this makes no sense to me........ Was it because they thought she was too young for H so they would just get rid of her any old way they could????? Come on people..............let somebody sometimes be happy for a change............

I thought the same thing as others did. Caine deserves some happiness. But this relationship was odd. He only dated her , that WE saw, a few times and then they're married?!.....Too weird. They should have developed it though a few more episodes at least. I could'nt find alot of feeling for these two because of it. Though it was so sad he lost her.

I love the program, one of my favorits but must say that the mole thing is getting kind of boring, no excitment for me about it. I too thought the relationship between H and Marisol was a bit odd being that it was so sudden and wondered why it was written in the script in the first place, well, I guess they had to have some drama as a payback to H some how, and killing him off couldn't happen.... I just think it could have been something better. What ever happend to his sister in law any way??? Did I miss something? Where did she go? Confussed....

My girlfriend keeps insisting CSI Miami is a drama. If it is, it's the worst thing on television. Once she was able to watch it as a piece of Batman-style camp, she started enjoying it too.

I also missed the last part. So did Marisol die? I am guessing from what was written here she did. Poor H. I think he deserves to be happy he just needs to stop standing like an idiot everytime the camra is aimed on him. I have watched this show since the first one and his acting is just getting worse.

I love this show and also missed the ending because of taping problems. It is so funny to hear other people talk about H's tilted head. My hubby and I laugh every time we watch it. Good show though. Also like CSI (the one set in Vegas). Think it is a bit more tongue in cheek than CSI Miami.

What a tired story line? Can't the CSI Miami writers come up with something more original than killing off the main character's love interest. The whole thing was so implausible and then last night, the story was downright insulting to anyone's intelligence. What newlywed man would leave his dying wife so he could try and capture the people who shot her. The Miami police dept. has more than one person working there!!They probably would have been glad to help out. Maybe Alana de la Garza can get her old job back at All My Children--after all, now she has additional soap opera experience for her resume. I only watch this show for David Caruso anyway.

The relationship between H and Marisol was bizarre from the get go, as in, how could he professionally date the sister of a subordinate? I kind of thought there was something father-daughter about it, some secret reason they got together and to married. He seemed to see her as some sort of innocent, needing protection (which is what he does) He never kissed her, not even when she is breathing her last.

This season started out pretty good with the whole Male Noche thing, but it's continually gone down the crapper. The Marisol/Horatio storyline feels rushed and ingenuous, not to mention a little uncomfortable. Neither Delko or Horation seemed as concerned as they should've been. That and the whole "mole" subplot seems to be going nowhere. I don't even care who the mole is...
And I have to agree on Caruso's acting. His cadence and mannerisms have reached such a level of predictability that it's just ridiculous. What happened to CSI: Miami? C'mon guys, get it together.
