24 - Jack Bauer(S05E22) If Jack Bauer asking questions like "What are you talking about?" landed a dollar in my pocket every time they were exclaimed, then I'd be a very rich man right now. With last week's episode closing shortly after Miles destroys the digital recording Chloe was working on for presentation to the Attorney General, it wasn't going to be a good week for Jack and the crew. Then again, when is it a good time for everyone.

Christopher Henderson "working" for the good guys, in a screwed up kind of way, pretty much turned this show completely on its head, but it appears that he is just as desperate as he is cunning, when it comes to surviving to breathe for another day. President Logan continues to play his cards with his "handlers," or whatever those dastardly masterminds should be called at this point, but he thinks he's still got the Homeland / CTU office in his court somewhat, which he most certainly doesn't. He also thinks that he's going to get rid of Aaron Pierce very quickly, but that wasn't to be.

Once again, the baddies manage to get what they want when it comes to military weaponry, which either shows that the fantasy world that 24 takes place in, or should mean that the rest of us should be very, very scared. With only three hours to go, you knew that Bierko and his boys in black would absolutely be going for one last hurrah, but I was just a bit surprised to notice that it would be to come via a Russian submarine that just so happened to be in the Port of Los Angeles. Of course, the treaty that President Logan happened to sign earlier in the day with his Russian counterpart was what allowed for the U.S. military to be taking part in a review and repair of this submarine, so I'm guessing that Bierko was more than aware that the treaty would have allowed for this. Otherwise, this seemed awful convenient, but enough with the criticism.

Screwing up on the job when it comes to working at CTU is a bit stressful. I know people who've gotten in more trouble for spilling a bucket of ice cream than Chloe did for letting evidence that the President of the United States was a traitor and was involved in the murder of a former president, but hey, why split hairs? I'm hoping that Heller makes his way back into the plot in the next two episodes, because his supposed survival had to be done for a reason, right? If anything, I wonder if it has something to do with Audrey's departure from the show.

The most important thing that happened, outside of Chloe managing to figure out where the next terror target was, was Mrs. Logan saving Aaron from being shot from one of his fellow Secret Service agents. It isn't bad enough that she is hurting from her husband's lies, but when one of the only people "on her side," Aaron, is about to be killed and at her husband's suggestion, she isn't about to take that. We know that Pierce making it out of the ranch alive is going to be a big part of how Bauer eventually ends up with Logan, which may just end badly for the leader of the free world.

With only one week of suspense left for us CTU-lovers, what are you looking forward to seeing? Do we think that Jack's ex-girlfriend will show up again? Will Kim show her face, or was that appearance earlier in the season just to do? Will Audrey die, and if so, will Jack then become a hermit? Oh, wait, he already did that a few years ago. And hey, are we going to be able to get any more deets on who the men are sitting around drinking scotch (I'm assuming here, people) and planning horrible destruction for Americans?
