I guess it's true: size really doesn't matter. On Thursday night, CBS beat all rivals in every single hour, including NBC, who supersized Will and Grace, My Name Is Earl, and The Office and still couldn't make a dent in Survivor or CSI (and it was the season finales of Earl and The Office). CBS won in the 10pm time slot too, with Without A Trace beating ER.
We can't leave FOX out: CBS beat the That 70s's Show series finale and that 7 minute X-Men 3 preview.

THAT ;70S SHOW series finale is next week. This week FOX aired one episode, and X-Men preview and a cast retrospective.
Next week, two new episodes, including the return of Ashton Kutcher for the series finale.

What NBC doesn't realize is that we, the viewers, caught on long ago ago to the lie of "supersizing" shows. The truth is, they usually contain more commercials or the extra they give you is not worth the time and effort to stay. In the age of DVR and TIVO, NBC is wasting their time with these tricks. I'm not going to stick around because you ran the show over -- I'll just record it and move on to CSI. If NBC really wants people to stick around, they're going to need better shows than what they currently have on no longer must-see Thursday.

I dont mind it cause I could care less what CBS has to offer. Nobody talks about CSI and Without A Trace the next day. They do talk about the office though and it ran 8 minutes longer than usual and was every bit as funny. Although I could care less about My Name is Earl...

I find the whole way NBC "super-sizes" things to be asinine. When Lost runs over, it does just that... It runs over. You don't have to remember to tune in, say, seven minutes early. I only caught the last half of Earl this week because of this crap. I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers being so low didn't reflect viewers [like me] who said, "Oh, well. I'll either bittorrent it or catch it later."
Yeah, we ain'ts gots no TiVo.
