(S12E14) The only thing you need to know about this episode is that no one gets voted off . In fact, the only thing that is halfway entertaining is watching the darker side of Terry emerge. It begins when they first get back to camp after the last tribal. Why does Terry lay into Cirie for dropping her stick? Is it because he is angry that Shane got voted out? He's just a mess when he isn't in control. He's crankier than we have ever seen him and did I hear him accuse Cirie of beating her kids?During the reward challenge, which involves running back and forth and counting, Jeff is particularly cheerleaderly telling everyone they can rest while aboard the luxury yacht which is being offered as the reward. Aras and Terry are neck and neck when it erupts into a shoving match. Terry and Aras trade verbal barbs when Terry complains about the rules (call the "wahmbulance, Terry's crying on the course."). Aras wins and Terry says that he didn't understand the rules. They spar a bit and Terry is clearly upset. He's not equipped to handle loss at all.
Aras takes Cirie with him on reward, dooming Danielle and Terry to Exile Island. At one point, Cirie says she could fit her whole house in the yacht and Aras says something to the effect that he wouldn't let her win the million dollars if that wasn't the case. Meanwhile, Danielle and Terry make an alliance of enemies but it seems that Terry is understandably wary, considering that Danielle already welshed on making an alliance with him before.
After all her time on Survivor, Cirie has never started a fire and so she finally starts one for the first time. She's come a long way from being the woman who was afraid of leaves. This, of course, is foreshadowing because we are headed to a tie where the tiebreaker is, you guessed it, firemaking. Our contestants are Danielle and Cirie (Aras wins immunity at another boring puzzle challenge). Of course, final three doesn't have quite the same ring to it so we will find out the results on Sunday. I'd be happy with anyone but Danielle in the final two. She has added nothing to the game all season.

The house fitting into the boat comment was in reference to the cargo ship they were passing in the canal.

Man, I can't stand Aras. I'd have been frustrated too if I asked Jeff a question and he butted in, with some comment about how Terry does that everytime he loses. Since Terry never really lost before that, it was just stupid.
And of course Terry's a little hostile, he should be more so. He's had a target on his back since the merge, he's never been on the winning side of a turn of votes, and he's been directly betrayed numerous times. That'll get to you after a while.

Of all the connivers who have played Survivor well but at the same time been deserving players, I think Cirie deserves teh million the most. She's the least athetlic, but she knows how to play the game. And thus, she should be equally worthy of the mil.

Is it me, or did they give away who gets voted off in the preview clips they showed for the next episode?

Yup, davidm, I think I saw it, too.
It's a pretty sad commentary that the biggest reaction of the season in my house came when the "to be continued" appeared...

Regarding davidm & RuDee's statement. The editers of Survivor are pretty tricky. One moment you think they gave something away, then you realize "they wouldn't do that". So you automatically think the opposite. Then you really don't know if they gave it away by mistake, or if they want you to think the opposite... then you realise, you really don't know at all, only to drive you nuts until next episode...(I love it)

"Why does Terry lay into Cirie for dropping her stick?"
I'll tell you why. Ask anyone that's been in the military. When you're walking single file at night, and someone puts a damned obstacle in your way that wasn't in their way, you are being what I'll call a "Bravo Foxtrot," or 'buddy f___er.' You screwed up. Cirie screwed up. We have the benefit of watching them with some night-vision cameras on TV.
Cirie is simply the luckiest contestant ever on this show. She gets by on the work of others like a parasite. She has won nothing but has gotten fed twice in the past few episodes, spent time with her husband (putting HIS ass to work for her benefit), and makes it to the final four. So why does she 'deserve' the money?
And there must not have been a lot going on for CBS to televise a man farting on a primetime show. The Tiffany network has come a long way...down.
GO TERRY!

Cirie's house may have fit in that cargo ship, but I doubt she would.
Best line of this Survivor was Shane's "And Cirie over there....all 300 lbs of her..."
Her putting her husband to work while he was there as a "reward"...Who's the more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows? That dawg is leashed. And for no good reason I can see.
She doesn't know how to play this game, she's been lucky. So lucky that I hope she loses in the final two to Terry (if she doesn't burn herself making that fire first).

Terry blasted out last night because he's losing challenges and is hopeless in winning people to his 'team'. He's frustrated, and it's coming out ugly.
Notice how he didn't say, 'I didn't come here to make friends,' as so many players do. Instead, the condescending a-hole said, 'I didn't come here to make friends WITH A 24 YEAR OLD'. He's a jerk. He thinks the experience he's had in his life earned him more respect than he's getting.
Terry needs to wake up and realize that Survivor is not about the physical challenges (too many challenges require upper body strength this season). Terry has outwitted NOT ONE person.
Cirie is the exact opposite: she has clearly outwitted everyone and has emerged as a real player. However, physically, well, she's grown a lot, but she started out as fearful of leaves, so it's difficult to really respect how far she's come.

Terry deserves to win not only because he's been the strongest, most consistent winner in the challenges, but because he's had to endure deep emotional antipathy. Like someone else said, every other player since the merge has treated him like crap and he's had to take it. It's no wonder he finally snapped a bit last night. And what I find so amazing is that the others -- Cirie, Aras and Danielle -- don't see how vicious they've been. Cirie laughs and acts like she's just a sweetheart, but I can't stand her. Aras, too, is a snake. They don't realize that they're like a high school clique -- with Terry as the outsider that they ridicule and tease. Not a pretty picture. I'm hoping that when the jury finally gets to influence the vote, the Casaya snots are voted down.

They didn't give away anything in the previews. I thought they did too so I rewound and watched. In the preview of next week you see Terry and Aras climbing up a wall thing and then you see Danielle. But the shot of Danielle is a shot from this week's puzzle challenge. She was running back with the bag of pieces in her hands.

I think Cirie deserves to win. Before the tribes merged she had the biggest target on her back. while Terry did'nt have to worry about anything. But now that they have switched places Terry is flipping out. No matter how bad it has gotten Cirie has kept a good additude. You go girl!!!!!!

Terry was pissed at Cirie because she dropped her torch in her path. It is pitch dark on that island at night and the only light they have is from their torches. He started out calm enough when he let her know what she did, but she did not say sorry right away, so the tempers escalated. I don't know why it is considred ok for everyone on this show to get angry at some point, but when Terry does, for good reason, he is considered arrogant.
"Terry and Aras trade verbal barbs when Terry complains about the rules"
That isn't what happened at all. Terry did not complain about the rules. During the competition he believed Aras may have been playing outside the rules and asked Jeff if what he was doing was allowed. After the competition he asked Jeff, not because he expected different results, but because he wanted to know how he screwed up. Any smart competitor wants to know what they did wrong that caused them to lose and how to correct it.
He tapped fists with Aras to congratulate him and after he inquired to Jeff about what he did wrong, Aras got all knee jerk and thought Terry was whining and then threw in the BS about Terry mistreating women. To Aras's credit, he did apologize, so I give him props for that.
Well, it's anyones call on the finale, but if it is an endurance competition, like most final 3, Terry has had the advantage all season in those. Now if it is Cirie, Terry and Aras and Aras wins, he has a lot of thinking to do on how the jury would vote and who he has a better shot on beating, Cirie or Terry. For Terry it would be easy, he should pick Aras to go with him.

I'm with you BobbyBuz, that's what I've been saying as well. Cirie will lose the fire challenge. And when it comes down to the final two there is no way they will let Terry walk away with it.

Basically what this episode turned out to be is one huge long preview for Sunday's finale. I had to laugh to myself as I saw the words "To Be Continued" appear on screen. I can't blame Mark Burnett for doing this because otherwise what incentive do I have to tune away from the Simpsons or the series finale of West Wing Sunday night to catch the start of Survivor?
Oh Mark Burnett--you and your editors are magnificent at playing the game. And then to leave in that scene in the preview that shows Danielle possibly losing.
Tribal council did have me curious. Could Terry have given the hidden immunity idol to Danielle during the TC or after the votes? Could he toss it to her and say--here you go kid, it's of no use to me now, so enjoy. Or is that against the rules of the hidden idol?
And how much of a bust did it turn out to really be on this year's events since Terry had it and won just about all the immunity challenges. You know Burnett has to be annoyed that he came up with this rogue element and it wasn't taken advantage of.

I hate Captain America. Despise him and all he stands for. He's like way too many military asses I run into in San Diego. Notice how he always brings up age? That's HIS take on what makes someone worthwhile - seniority. He's a raging butthole and it's a crying shame Survivor slanted all the final bits in his favor...that was the first immunity challenge that didn't rely at least 90% on physical ability. Where was the shuffle board-like challenge?! Nope..they took it out because it Terry might have lost. As soon as he couldn't use his physical prowess he lost...twice!
As for Aras, yeah he's a dork. But I'll take a dork any day over the ass clown Terry. And no Danielle hasn't brought anything - that's typical. She's gotten by switching sides, being non-threatening and having implants (the producers love the skinny girls with big ta-tas). Cirie's hilarious and next to Terry she's done the best job - not physically but my manipulating people.
As long as Captain America (Or Tom Redux) doesn't make it to the Final Two, I'll be happy.
