Moral Orel: Maturity

Dad: You need to start behaving like more of an adult around here.

Orel: But dad, I'm only twelve.

Dad: That's no excuse. Why your own personal hero, Jesus, was very mature at your age.

Orel: He was?

Dad: Of course. At twelve he was already busy proving the Jews wrong.

Oh, how I've missed this show. This brand new episode actually doesn't air on Adult Swim until this Sunday, but you can check it our early over on the Adult Swim Fix site. Once again, Orel tries to follow his heart but only ends up drunk and hitting on a five-year-old at the park. In his defense, he wasn't looking for anything long-term, just someone to hold him for one night. Anyway, when his father tells him to act more mature and to watch how the adults behave in Moralton, Orel does just that, sneaking into the local bar to witness unhappy marriages, promiscuity, and some bar game which apparently involves spraying whipped cream on your face and smashing it into shards of broken glass. Determined to be more mature, Orel steals his dad's "maturity juice" and quickly becomes a bitter fifty-year-old in a little kid's body. In the end his father explains to him that  "drinking on a daily basis is not the only way to be an adult."

This episode had some great moments, such as Orel's mom scrubbing Orel's eye with a scouring pad and a special "eye scrub" which looked like an industrial cleaner. I also loved the obligatory heartfelt exchange between Orel and his dad in which dad explains that a person who's in his fifties has earned the right to be emotionally distant from his family.

Best line: "I can't believe I gave you the privilege of satisfying me every night."
