(S02E23) I was looking forward to and dreading this episode all at the same time. After last week's previews, we already knew what was in store for former Detective Aiden Burn, but I didn't want to accept it. She was a great character in the first season and it was too bad that she was written out of the show. Although, I remember reading somewhere that she requested it. So in that sense, I suppose this was a logical storyline and it was nice that it tied up the questions that have been hanging around since the second episode of this season.
After Aiden was fired by Mac at the beginning of the season, supposedly she was going to pursue her private investigator's license. Instead, she set up shop in her apartment (she had a mini crime scene lab it seems) and continued to track down DJ Pratt to bust him for all the rapes he had committed. We knew Pratt was smart though. After all, he's been covering his tracks and alluding arrest for years now. So it only makes sense that he'd catch on if someone was watching him regularly. Aiden had a goal though and she knew what had to be done.
Pratt set a trap for Aiden and she was burned alive in the front seat of a stolen car. But her final seconds weren't in vain. She bit Pratt in the arm and then she sunk her teeth into the car's arm rest. She knew her dental records would be useless. So she left Mac something to work with and we finally saw DJ Pratt's world come crashing down. Aiden died busting the guy that had been haunting her for months.
I was kind of disappointed that Aiden's case wasn't a bit more complicated so that the entire episode was about it. I thought it was kind of cheap that an episode that killed off a one-time cast member was only partially about that case. The secondary case was good (about a Marine killed in Central Park), but the only thing I wanted to know about was Aiden. What we did get was good though. It was great to see the team come together and bust Pratt. Plus I liked how they all went out drinking afterwards.
There was one scene that I found interesting though. Lindsay was asking Stella about Danny and how close he was to Aiden. Seemed like she was trying to get a little info on his personal life. I still think there's going be a storyline with Danny and Lindsay but at this point, we might not see it until next season.
One episode to go. The season finale airs next week.

Aiden wasn't burned alive. she was already dead. blunt force trauma to her head killed her then Pratt poured lighter fluid on her body. the M.E. confirmed this when he didnt find smoke in her lungs. Being such a fan of Aiden i would think you would want to know exactly how she died.

CSI NY Run Silent Run Deep. As I understand it Frankie made Stella this Sculpture, Soul of a Woman, and planted in her head an idea about a website he alleges he found informaiton about the Peruvian Art Sculpture, Soul of a Woman. Instead, what Stella found was, (as I understand it) a video of Frankie and Stella having sex). She's tracking down sex criminals, and now learns by seeing the video that Frankie is a sex criminal, too. Can someone tell me if I understand this right? And can someone tell me what the next step in this saga is? Was the Sculpture just a method for Frankie to mention the alleged website he found informaiton about the nonexistant Peruvian website. Since the website was actually a video Frankie secretly made of he and Stella having sex? Do I understand this right? Again, if so, what happens next, regarding this?
