The CW is reportedly considering taking a hefty financial loss in order to push Reba off its schedule. Reba is currently in a two-year deal with WB, which will cease to exist this fall and be replaced by The CW. The new network apparently doesn't think 51-year-old country star Reba McEntire fits in with the hip image it's trying to portray, but getting rid of the show before its contract is up will cost a lot of money. $20 million to be exact. According to Broadcasting & Cable, it's a smart move to get rid of Reba to look cool to the target demographic of young kids.Does anybody out there watch Reba? It looks like wholesome fun. We can't have any of that!

What's that expression... "throwing the baby out with the bathwater"?
Yeah, that.

I used to watch it. It was wholesome in the sense of having few cuss words, but I wouldn't want my kids watching Reba's bitterness and general lack of pleasure, except from insulting her ex-husband and his wife.

Well, yes, if you leave out the "fun" part.

We love the show at our house. It is funny , no, Very Funny. A slight religious tone, but not as much as the simpsons.
I would hate to see it go. They lost the 2 youngest kids, and they only show the babies in a flash. The adults are the focus of the shows.
Did I say it is Very Funny

The show really lost some steam this year, but it still remains enjoyable to watch. However, Reba's not really the funny one on the show -- never had been, in my opinion. If it wasn't for Melissa Peterman (Barbara Jean) and Steve Howey (Van) the show wouldn't be nearly as much fun to watch. I would hate the see the show go, but if the stupidly-named CW keeps it around, Reba will be lucky to get any promotion from the network. If the stupidly-named CW doesn't want the show, then they should let it go instead of burying it on a night no one will watch and forgetting about it.

My wife Tivos this show, and I watch it on occasion. It's a cute show -- certaily better than a lot of sitcoms that I've been unable to sit through. I agree with Jimmy that the Barbara Jean and Van characters make the show. IF the CW isn't interested in keeping it, I'm sure that it could do decently for another network that's looking for a stable show to add to its programming schedule.

I look forward to watching "Reba" every week. It's the top sitcom for the WB, and it actually survived without showing people in bed, or using foul language. I hope another network will pick it up if CW decides to drop it. TNN suffered big time when it changed its format and dropped all the country shows ... I hope they're paying attention.

For me it's the interaction between Peterman's character of Barbara Jean and Reba that makes the show click. First there's the patent absurdity of why anyone would prefer Barbara Jean over Reba, and then there's BJ's desperate and oblivious attempts to be Reba's bestest friend. The two women work so well off of each other that it's a pleasure to see them work.

If they do ditch this perfectly fine comedy, I bet it's all because Les Moonves personally doesn't like it or doesn't think it fits the profile of this future wannabe network. Reba has consistently been much better than most "so-called comedy" crap CBS has been putting out for years, and I doubt they'll be able to replace this with a better comedy (not that Reba is that good, but who wouldn't think a new slate of CW comedies would most probably duplicate the infamous blandness of WB and UPN sitcoms? I'll only believe when I see it.).
They'd be crazy to ditch this good (imo, underappreciated) comedy that performs well. At the very least let it at least have the final season with the series finale it deserves.

My wife started watching it a few years ago and so I began to watch it with her just to make fun of the ultra-lame opening theme song. Hell, its been three years now and I guess I've watched more of Reba than I care to admit.
I'm not a fan of the show, but somehow it does deliver at least two laugh out loud moments per episode (which very few other sitcoms can match let alone beat). However, I do feel like my IQ lowers just a tad by the time the credits roll.

I am suprised to hear the Reba may be on the chopping block. My finace watches the show and I began to watch with her. Not the greatest show but definitely better than most and it is pretty funny, which I hate to admit. I'm no country music fan or a Reba fan or a fan of any of the other WB shows but this is a decent show that get's laughs without being risque. And I'm no puritan. Not bringing it back is a big mistake for the CW (can't win)

I watch reba every week and tape it so my husband can watch it, Reba is one of the few and I mean few shows he watches. It will be a shame to see it go but sadly the only thing that sell today is sex and we wonder why the younger kids are so messed up. TV teaches them thing they don't need to know before its time

Reba is the greatest show for family's. It shows how difficult divorce is on all especially the Mother. Yes Barbara Jean and Van are very funny but so is Reba. She has great expressions. She is awesome in everything she does. Reba gets 5 out of 5 stars in my book.

My sister and I both are fans of Reba and her TV show.
All of the cast members are talented and funny. To be honest, "Reba" is the only show that either of us watch on WB. Why does CW not just let "Reba" stay on for another year, and then make a decision about the show?

I have watched "Reba" off and on since it started. At first i didn't know what to think of it, I thought the story line was kinda of weird, and that there was no way they could make it funny. But i was surprised, Some how they make it work, and make it family appropriate (don't ask me how). Sometimes you wonder how things are going to turn out, but in the end they always do the right thing, and it has actually taught me a lot. Yes, Reba says bad stuff about Brock, but lets face it, usually it's pretty funny! and Reba's not the only one, everyone blames all their problems on him, because lets face it, it's pretty easy to do. It's a show that the whole family can watch together and enjoy, if CW decides to cancel it they will lose a lot of viewers, I have no interest in any of the other shows that they have to offer. "Reba" is the only show I watch anymore, you always get a good laugh, and you come out of it thinking "my family isn't so weird after all". MY 4 year old nephews watches it, my 70 year old Grandma watches, my parents and most of my siblings watch it, it appeals to all ages, to matter what the CW says! And i like the theam song, it's catchy and cool! Even though half the people i know think it's "my lips are planted in the past" lol. Barbra Jean and Reba are the funniest for sure!
