Desperate Housewives: I Know Things Now

desperate housewives(S02E21) Alright, I think we're on a roll here. It's too bad we had to wait until the last few episodes of the season for things to really get good. So far this season has felt like an Oreo cookie with a turd for filling. I'm just hoping the second cookie remains as good as the first one.

First up, the Applewhites. It seemed like a very obvious way for things to turn out, with Caleb telling Betty what he was told to do. I'd actually thought that maybe Betty knew Matthew was in on the whole thing and was bluffing killing Caleb. Now we see she clearly is nuts, and I can see Matthew may have to take drastic measures against his mom very soon.

The Solises' story sort-of came out of left field, though it had occurred to me a while back that maybe their housekeeper could be a surrogate for them. The scene in the fertility clinic was classic, though I almost got the feeling at one point that Carlos was going to go all holy on us and compare the virginity-birth thing to Mary and Jesus. I really hope that doesn't happen for more than a brief joke later.

As far as the Scavos go, I had no idea that the secret Tom said he was hiding (earlier this season) was going to be something still occurring now. Could it just be that he's visiting a relative or long-lost daughter from a previous life before Lynette? It sure seems too sloppy of him to put all of that on the company expenses.

Once again, the Susan-Edie story isn't annoying to watch .. well, not as annoying. What's with all the house burning in this show? It's starting to get too much like Melrose Place.

Then of course we have the Van De Kamp story. Finally, Bree takes the step she likely should have taken a longer time ago. I'm not saying it would've been an easy decision to make, but didn't her son just take one step too far this time? While sure, she didn't take to his being gay at all, he's using it as a lame reason for why he should be set free.
