(S02E21) Alright, I think we're on a roll here. It's too bad we had to wait until the last few episodes of the season for things to really get good. So far this season has felt like an Oreo cookie with a turd for filling. I'm just hoping the second cookie remains as good as the first one.First up, the Applewhites. It seemed like a very obvious way for things to turn out, with Caleb telling Betty what he was told to do. I'd actually thought that maybe Betty knew Matthew was in on the whole thing and was bluffing killing Caleb. Now we see she clearly is nuts, and I can see Matthew may have to take drastic measures against his mom very soon.
The Solises' story sort-of came out of left field, though it had occurred to me a while back that maybe their housekeeper could be a surrogate for them. The scene in the fertility clinic was classic, though I almost got the feeling at one point that Carlos was going to go all holy on us and compare the virginity-birth thing to Mary and Jesus. I really hope that doesn't happen for more than a brief joke later.
As far as the Scavos go, I had no idea that the secret Tom said he was hiding (earlier this season) was going to be something still occurring now. Could it just be that he's visiting a relative or long-lost daughter from a previous life before Lynette? It sure seems too sloppy of him to put all of that on the company expenses.
Once again, the Susan-Edie story isn't annoying to watch .. well, not as annoying. What's with all the house burning in this show? It's starting to get too much like Melrose Place.
Then of course we have the Van De Kamp story. Finally, Bree takes the step she likely should have taken a longer time ago. I'm not saying it would've been an easy decision to make, but didn't her son just take one step too far this time? While sure, she didn't take to his being gay at all, he's using it as a lame reason for why he should be set free.

superb episode! evil edie is back, bree is going to break down, lynette's husband is cheating, susan's lost her house...can it get better?! that scene with bree dropping off her malicious son and him pleading, wow - emotional and powerful. he deserved it all! not sure about the applewhite's storyline, i hope their family [whatever happens] returns for next season and gets more plot integration. overall, decent season not as surprisingly great as season1, but still appointment tv!

I can see Betty's delemma -- how will she ever know if Matthew had set up Caleb before? Matthew deserves a 'time out'. Bree's kids - slimeballs both. I bet there was a silent cheer across America when she dumped her son like the evil dog that he is. I sure hope Susan's daughter keeps her moral compass - her ding-bat mom needs all the help she can get. I really DON'T want to see the Solis couple stoop to violating the maid's virtue. A much better story line would be for Danielle to teach her the ways of getting a good man. The writers are at a point now, where they could go really dark in the plot lines - I'd like to enjoy this show a few more years.

Apparently Tom made a trip to Atlantic city...bought two tickets to a show and flowers. I wonder if he is cheating...I think Lynette would divorce him though if he really is cheating on her. Anyways...I'm so glad Bree finalyl dropped off that demon of a son of hers. I don't get why she didn't do it when he came after her just for his trust fund. He officially lost any of my support last night. She put all her differences aside...and he goes and bangs her boyfriend. That's messed up on so many levels and I think she did the right thing. She gave him what he wanted because she couldn't take all the torture he was inflicting on her anymore. I just have a feeling Andrew will be back either for the finale or next season though.

Andrew sleeping with the boyfriend was the best thing that could happen to Bree. Now both of them are out of her life (for now). That incident may have been just the wake up call Bree needed to get on with her life without smothering the men for whom she cares.
Why go through all the trouble of having Susan steal the letter from the mailman and then have her place it back in her mail. A pocket or the garbage after a quick rip would have been reasonable thing to do. As soon as she put it in the mail, it was clear it was going back to the mailman somehow.
Carlos clearly has an eye for breaking a virgin, whether she is the mother of his child or carrying his wife's child will be a plot line for next year.
As far as the Applewhite's go, wow what a colossal waste of time that whole storyline has been. Good to hear that they wont be returning for season 3.

The Applewhites are not returning? Oh, that is so good to hear. That storyline was the worst one--wouldnt have been so bad if they'd wrapped it up in 2 or 3 episodes. And could anyone have a good marriage? Does everyone have to have a cheating husband? That really pisses me off, but maybe that's not where they're really going with the Scavos. And the house burning? Oy, not again!!

The scene between Andrew and Bree was so uterly painful to watch. You can see on Bree's face how she has finally given up on her son. Finally understands how cruel her son has become in his self-absorption. Then, there's Andrew. He may put on a mask of happiness, but he never expected his mother to take this step and he's visibly shaken as she drives away. Of all the actors on the show, Marcia Cross and Shawn Pyfrom are damned good. Both of them deserve Emmy nominations for that scene alone.
Like so many others, I'm glad the Appliewhite story is coming to an end. It was just so utterly stupid, poorly developed, and a complete waste of time. It was also a complete waste of two great actors in Alfre Woodard and Mechad Brooks.

Wow, and to think I actually liked Andrew. Damn, as soon as he started questioning Bree's bopyfriend's past as a sex addict, I knew he was going to 'go there'. And how lame was his "I win" speech, blaming his Homosexuality on his problems. Bree gave the boy so many damn chances to straighten up yet he refused to budge from his manipulative ways. She didn't agree with the lifestyle, yet she tried to compromise. Even though her dropping him off was heartbreaking, it needed to be done. I really wished TPTB would have saved his character and we could have saw more development, relationship-wise, from him and Justin.

I always thought Andrew was faking the whole gay thing to freak out his mind. I figured he was playing his boyfriend for all he was worth and just setting scenes up for his mother. Now, I'm not sure he was just playing Bree. I'm sure he'd have gone through with the whole ordeal with Bree's Boyfriend just in hopes that she'd walk in on them in the act.
It's nice to see them using Danielle a little more. She's almost like Walt on Lost. Yeah, she's on the pay role, just not working. That girl cannot pull off "sexy" at all. "Cute" sure.
I'm betting Tom is hiding a love child that was either result of a pre-Lynette relationship or a fling he had durring a rough patch, long before the boys were born.
I'm betting the house fire is what gets Susan and Mike back together. She's going to end up living with him since she's already said she's got no money. How they deal with Carl and Edie will be interesting.
Carlos will use the Maid for his free fling that Gaby offered him at the begining of the season. (Remember when he tried to hook up with Lynette after the whole scene with Gaby kissing Tom?)

I think the whole of Desperate Housewives is getting just a teeny weeny bit extra. I think Danielle didn't quite work the 'sexy' approach very well but she tried but Matthew definetly did. He didn't even have to try. A-nyways, there storyline was s***, the secret relationship kind of caught me but I must say, so far the best storyline has to be Bree's situation first a rebellious Bi son, then a 'sexy' daughter and now a drinking problem. Girl, u need help!!!
