It was cancelled by The WB - and the cast won't renew contracts, it can't be saved. The cast even said The WB couldn't cancel it because there is nothing to cancel, they left.

A petition for a spin-off might give some hope, but otherwise this is just false-hope for die hard fans.

Why? Don't we know by now that these online petitions DO NOT WORK? The only show to ever be brought back (so far) is Family Guy and that is due to DVD sales. Hopefully Firefly gets brought back, but that's only because it didn't get a chance to run its course.

This season of Charmed while good, is kind of dumb. The main issue is that the sisters want a normal life and yet they can't because of their "power of three" yadda yadda yadda. They were given the chance for a normal life like 3 seasons ago and turned it down. Its their own fault they don't have this normal life they seek.

Charmed was great when it started. After Pru was killed, everything revolved around Ms. Milano. I stopped watching, except once in awhile. It just isn't good now. Just a note: I met Ms. M at a horse show in Perry, Ga. several years ago, before Pru was killed. She seemed so nice, friendly, and normal. Was I wrong! Go, PRU!!

Now, this was back in 2001. TV business has changed a lot since then. So, I agree that these petitions do not work (anymore) and in the case of charmed it is somewhat hopeless, even though the ratings are still very good...

the story line is really lame this season.. kinda glad it's gonna end! how many times can we really see the same old stuff. freeze, sparkling light. and poof it exploded! YAwnnnnnnn

The reason the actresses said the show was over is because they were not treated right by the network. The best bet would be if a different network picked it up and treated the actresses better. And, by the way, it was not ALL Ms. Milano's fault! No one has EVER been able to get along with Shannen Doherty for very long, that is a very well-known and undisputed fact. I did like the show better with Pru on there though. I just don't care for Paige... I could not care less what happens to that character, she was just a means to an end, a way for th show to stay on the air (at that time). At least we have TNT and the DVD's!

As I sit here reading the other comments, I noticed that the men of this world really give negative comments for a show they probably don't even understand. The ladies are fighting for the good of the world. Not many shows give that impression anymore.
It is a good show that should be allowed to continue if the stars really want it. They have lives and I can understand if they want to move on to other things. Still I would like for it to at least have on emor eseason to prepare the way for a good ending. On another note Daniel Jackson was brought back to Stargate due to the online pages (and other) that voiced the shock at losing a main character that was essential to the storyline.

This is just sad, good shows are never given a chance and cancelled and shows that were once GREAT are hanging on too damn long, Charmed is one of these shows. It has been losing its luster for a while now it should have been cancelled last year. I have tons of examples of this, The Practice, ER, 7th Heaven (which I never watched) and many, many more, and then there are the shows, which were still great and had places to go but were cancelled. American Dreams, West Wing, Boomtown, Miracles, Love Monkey,
Wonderfalls, and my personal favorite Homicide: Life on the streets. The networks need to get there crap together and work on promoting shows that are already on there line up not throwing them under the bus just to replace a great show with one that will be cancelled after 4 episodes.

I think that when they killed off the charater Cole the show went to hell. She had to prove her love for how many episodes then to just blow him up like a demon in the attic. Then Pru, she was the best older sister they could have had. You just wanted her to explode or have a fit and walk off the set. Then to kill off her character, shame on you Mr. Spelling, she might have been a witch but a money making witch..

I've been a fan of Charmed from the beginning and continue to be! Although it was sad to see Pru go, Paige was NEEDED to keep the show going (that whole Power of 3 thing!). But truth be told, they are running out of good stuff. I'm still gonna hate to see it go, though! Just, PLEASE, DO NOT let Billie have a spin-off! She helped the Charmed Ones when the needed it, but when they go, LET Billie GO!! Farewell, Charmed Ones, and Thank You for 8 seasons of keeping us all safe! We'll miss ya! PS I've signed a couple of those petitons, to no avail! "Boston Public" was truly awesome and didn't even get a finale aired! Remember "Inconcievable"? 3, maybe 4 shows? I could go on, but... it's useless!

um, that petition is to save the show from being cancelled...LAST season. It was started over a year ago (Feb 05). As much as I love Charmed, it is time for it to go to rest. You can easily tell the stars are no longer into it. I wouldn't mind seeing a Billie spin-off though, although it would need a good angle since Charmed has played well through any level of reasonable plot lines.

First the WB cancels "7th Heaven"--and now we've heard Moonves wants to bring it back to life for the CW. Now you're going to try to bring back the dreadful, dreadful, "Charmed"?

With all these crap shows on the CW's lineup, where the hell is it going to fit actual quality material like "Veronica Mars"?

I like strong women, so I've loved Charmed over the years, but it's time to accept that it's a goner. I'm not even sure that that's a bad thing. The show's been sort of flat the last couple of seasons. I think that's due to three things. First, it's always hard to keep coming up with fresh material after this long. Second, they weren't sure there was going to be an 8th season. When the network finally gave the go ahead, I think the creative staff was unsure how to proceed. They plot line has seemed to meander aimlessly at times (The Charmed Ones helping Homeland Security? What, are they gonna find bin Laden?). Dumping Darrel and Leo limited the story lines even more. Third, the ladies are all ticked off at the WB and it's come through as performances that are a little blah. The Charmed Ones all seem to be shadows of their former selves. I don't think any of them have their hearts in it any more. On top of that, Holly's pregnant again. I just don't see any way the ladies will agree to come back, and the show would never be the same even if they did. Charmed has become like your old Granny who's on her last leg. You still love her and you'll miss her terribly, but she's fading fast and you know it's just her time to go.

I think that the show has been great and why stop a great thing?!!!!!I have watched it from season one till now and wish it could continue for another season at least. And for everyone that wants it to end, everyone has their own opinon.
