Let me preface this post by saying that I know next to nothing about
the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project, other than the fact that it has been stirring up controversy due to
what many, including chief medical officer Dr. Kerry Kelly of the FDNY, say are dubious medical claims. Oh
yeah, and it has origins in Scientology, which is always great fuel for controversy. One person who does seem to like
the idea, however, is Janeanne Garafolo, who has been catching some flak lately from fans of her Air America radio
show, "The Majority Report," where her praise of the controversial method has been likened by some to an
infomercial. It seems that even her most diehard fans aren't too happy with Garafalo on this one. For more detailed
information, check out this

I'm baffled by this post.
The author admits ignorance of the subject, and yet has no problem fueling "controversy" (read: prejudice) on it.
He then posts a link to the site of a naysayer (a man who makes his money preying on new religious movements, has a criminal history and in the past was known to kidnap "cult members" to "deprogram" them.)
With this kind of warped worldview, where an initiative to help firefighters gets smeared while a kidnapper is granted legitimacy, it's easy to see what's wrong with our culture.
Adam did not even take the trouble to include a link to the NY Detox Website (http://www.nydetox.org) or to the Purification program (http://www.thinkclearly.org) - which are at the heart of the topic.
No wonder Scientology is "controversial". It's posts like these, with their background music of prejudice, that feed the stigma.

(yes, I'm a Scientologist. Deal with it.)

Like Janeane, Leah Remini used to be pretty hot. Now she's got big upper arms and the start of a double chin, and Janeane's got the cropped blonde hair thing. What happened to the world we grew up in?
As for the post, the headline is a bit misleading. G-Lo hasn't really responded directly to her critics' concerns.
