Here's my theory -- if Paris would've dropped a big wet smoocher on Seacrest while he was
trailing her with that battery pack, then she wouldn't have gone home tonight. It would have been the perfect climatic
moment during her performance of Prince's "Kiss," and God (being a huge Idol fan, and
understanding the ironic nature of the moment) would have shifted some votes away from Elliott and given them to poor
Paris. But alas, that didn't happen and Paris is going home, and Elliott (her partner in the bottom
two) has survived another week.
I don't shed too many tears for Paris because she was never my favorite. But I must say, the top 5 are
really amazing this year. Every single one of of them deserves to be there, including Paris
especially Paris. But Randy was right in saying that this was the year for the men. Katharine is the only girl
left, which means that she (presumably) gets her own room and the choice pick of the male groupies. Speaking of room
sharing, did anybody catch Jimmy Kimmel the other night when he pointed out that Ruben and Clay Aiken probably had to
share a room before the finale? It's pretty funny when you think about it. Who do you think snores
louder? My money's on Aiken. He's hiding a grizzly bear in that button nose of his. I'm sure of
it.
PS- Next week, Elvis? Blaaaaaaaaaagggggh. If they are in Tennessee, they might has well head to Dollywood. Dolly! Dolly! Dolly!

Elvis had alot of GREAT songs and from what I understand, Taylor can really move to Elvis and sing good too. You gotta give Taylor credit...He Did what Simon said and Tried not to move and he was very uncomfortable, because that was not his style. You will be happy to know that I read where he is gonna do what TAYLOR wants from now on.

Hey like the blog! Seeing as I'm in little old New Zealand we're really far behind with American Idol... We've only just been told the top 12!!! Its really sad to hear that Paris Bennett gets voted off :( she was my absolute favorite! (and that has nothing to do with her age or ethnicity). I'm the same age as Paris, and I think that with her being so young, her career in singing could really be something, and that American Idol would just be a kick in the ass towards that career. Well keep updating on American Idol... The American Idol site is behind slightly and I want to know who wins! I might even be entering New Zealand Idol - It will be our third :) Well ta ta and see you! Thanks for this wonderful blog that (hopefully) will keep me up to date!

It was time for Paris to go and I pick Yamin for next week. My favorites are Taylor & Kat. Taylor should rock it out next week with Elvis and so should Katherine if she makes a good song choice. Chris can also do some good stuff. I still Chris will win and that it is predetermined which is sad.

It was time for Paris to go, that Betty Boop voice and Shirley Temple voice could only go so far. Katherine needs to be next, in my opinion she doesn't have the voice the judges say she does.I don't think they look past how beautiful she is. Chris will be the winner and Taylor the runner up. That's my prediction.

I am not a big Elvis fan by any means, but it will be interesting to see how this experience influences them. I can really see Taylor kicking it into gear! It will be interesting to see what the others do. As for Paris, we pretty much knew she was going but it is still sad to see her go. It is like losing a family member after all this time. But the thing is, these kids know they are going to be traveling together after the competition is over, so it truly is NOT the end for them. Paris will get a record deal somewhere along the way for sure! I truly hope Kat is the next to go. Did you see her sweating it when she & Elliot were waiting to see who was the other bottom 2 person? I think she is finding out she is not as wonderful as she thought she was after all!

Okay, I'll say it. I really like Ryan Seacrest. I think he's perfect on this show and last night when he chased Paris around the stage holding her mic pack, I laughed like crazy. I'm not sure, but it looked like he even tried a couple of dance moves. It would have been nice if she had acknowledged his effort with a 'thank you' kiss. He treats every contestant equally and makes each one feel as important as the other. I think it's about time someone gave him props for doing a great job.

In order for your kiss scenario to work it would have needed to happen one day earlier.
The Jimmy Kimmel interview with Kellie was great. I think the Idols this time around are a little short on real personality. Maybe they're just told to keep it in the box. Seems like the people who work their way up outside Idol are a little more over the top.
As far as this week goes the show is getting predictable with the voting. Elliot goes next week no matter what.
Here's what I'm feeling, however.
Elliot out next week. After that it will be interesting to see if the judges try to influence things (sidebar:what's up with Paula actually having real comments?!). They want Chris, but Kat would be a decent second choice. Taylor, however, clearly is the most popular.
Watch for criticism of Taylor to spread from Simon (who clearly doesn't want him) to Randy and Paula.

This year's Idol is more about personality. Which Idol do you worship most? For the women here it seems to be Chris. He ought to tattoo a urethra on the top of that bald noggin to complete his likeness to what he is.

This is the final 4 that I predicted long ago and they are the Top 4 singers in the competition. I'm torn between how much I adore Taylor for his overall performance, how much I love Elliott's voice and how much he has grown in the competition, or how much I really like Katharine's voice. I was a fan of Chris too for a while but to me he is the lead singer of a band and would be better that way than trying to lead the American Idol Bandwagon. Plus I'm not sure American Idol management knows how to handle a rocker after seeing what they did to Bo and Chris is a harder rocker than Bo ever was.
Paris has many years ahead of her and I'm sure we will hear from her again. That voice can't not be silenced. I hope she gets some good advice on her career choices, with the right people she could have a very long career.

I really hope now since Paris is gone that her votes will go to Elliot. I would love to see 3 guys be in the top 3. Katherine is too over rated & not as consistent as she used to be. Last night, I think she found out that she wasn't as popular as she thinks she is by the look on her face. She knew that even is Elliot was the 2nd lowest score, she was right after him. Taylor & Chris were the obvious top spots. Elliot & Kat are going to have to kick it up next week to earn their spots.

Kat really looked scared last night - Loved it!!! Wish she was going - But, now that she IS the only girl, she probably won't be eliminated for another week or two - So, unfortunately, next week Elliot will be going, than Taylor or Chris - They will probably have a guy and girl in the Top 2.

You're absolutely right. Ryan Seacrest is a great asset to the show. Has a fine sense of humor, a good deal of needed scarcasm, always professional, unbiased and a gentleman. I hope he goes far in his entertainment career. I know I will be watching.

I like the humility as well as the talent of the 3 remaining men. Although Kat has a great voice, i would love to see a male win it this year. My prediction: Elliot will go next, then Taylor. Chris Daughtry is in a class all his own. Whether you like rock or not, he commands the stage and has an incredible voice. I hope he wins it this year.

I SO agree with Maria's comment (above) re: Kat and the expression on her FACE when it was down to she and Elliott... Pure TERROR, I'd say... was she EVER sweating it! I would LOVE to see her go next... not that she doesn't have a great voice...(they ALL do) but she is SO stuck on herself... and that last act...gyrating with an invisible pole on the floor just made me nautious.... Elliott is my favorite...has been since Mandisa left (which was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to soon)... I doubt Elliott will go thru next week... but in my dreams he would be the NEXT AMERICAN IDOL.

I'm glad someone finally mentioned Seacrest. I think he is rock solid and shows real care for the contestants. And I do not think he has the biggest ego as "Simon says"...guess who does?
Go Ryan. Don't let the ____________s get you down.

I want Taylor to win this so bad... All of them are very talented though... I will buy everyone of the albums made buy the top four this year. I have Taylor's CD and it is great. hmm elvis for Taylor? "One night with you" Jailhouse rock, maybe which will make Simon crazy... He is so mean to Taylor. Does anyone know why Taylor has a tick or seems to...And did anyone see that horrible commercial when everyone was either in drag or looked like a whore? What was up with that? Bad stuff! I felt sorry for the contestants.
