(S02E21) Can you feel it? That tension in the air like we felt last season, right before the final episode? Everything's coming together, and still we doubt our assumptions. Do we really know who's behind the bus crash? Were we really right in our guesses about Woody and his pervy ways? While I'm clearly excited to know how everything goes down next week, this is also when I'm sad to realize that everything's about to end, and we'll have another summer to wait through to see what happens next.
One thing that hit me a little by surprise was knowing that Mac is going to Hearst College. Hearst? Why isn't she
going to MIT or something like that? For Beav, perhaps?
OK, it's nitpick nerd time. Keith was actually a
bit wrong with how he explained POP email accounts working. Uusually once one system pulls down the mail from a POP
server, it's off the server for good. There are ways to alter that behavior, but I digress.
Who was that
guy "Hart" or whatever his name was? What secret was he keeping? I can only imagine he was in the court room
and heard about the Chlamydia, right?
Suddenly Woody is acting creepy as hell, but if what we're hearing
about him is true, that makes sense. A few of us knew the wall of pictures meant something, and I'd put money on the
title of next week's episode having to do with it. Likely Veronica will get hold of one of the pictures and see that
one person isn't pictured in the photo, which will be the one blackmailing Woody. To me, all signs are pointing to
Beaver being the voice altered out of the recording we heard. Who else would want Woody to stop Neptune's
incorporation?
So, I guess we found out that Lucky's "catching" and not "pitching" as
far as Woody's concerned. But what's with the feet? Could he have been so infected with Chlamydia that it got to his
feet? Hrm ... maybe he was in the school showers and Veronica got it that way? Eh, that seems too far out there.
And then, of course, there's Aaron Echolls ... free! Obviously the only way he's going to go to prison now is if
new evidence comes out. Would he be so idiotic as to admit everything on tape next week? I guess we'll find out soon
enough.
Quote of the Episode:
Veronica: "The password. Give it."
Keith:
"You'll remember it. It's 'Mr. Goodwood.'"
Veronica: "... I'm so not touching his
keyboard."

FANTASTIC!
This episode was. When I saw Lucky shoot at Wallace I was speechless, then that they were blanks. All before the opening credits of the show, now thats good tv. So congratulations all those Woody being a molestor theoryers out there.
I can't believe that Aaron got let off. Even after Veronica and Logans testimonys. Thats a bunch of bull crap. But hey if Oj can get away with it, i guess its not that far fetched. And Jackies dad getting off too, and having to spend the rest of his life in debt to a booky. I wonder if Wallace will go to Paris for her? So much in this episode I'm still comprehending.
Anyone know the name of the song playing while Veronica and Wallace were talking in the hallway.. "sleeping with the television and all the lights on"..?

After everything hinted at & introduced in this episode, I'm expecting a hell of a payoff next week, or god so help me, Rob Thomas is going down. After the 'not guilty' verdict and the close up on Veronica's face.. sigh. Poor Veronica, and after dealing with that jerk lawyer too.
As for the episode.. hot dang. There's Eli & Thumper (and right before graduation no less... ouch.), Aaron Echolls getting off scott free (argh!), Jackie & Wallace (sigh), not to mention everything else. Finale can't come soon enough, as far as I'm concerned.

The random kid, Hart, was a total callback to the first season. He appeared in season one's episode 14, Mars vs. Mars, as a kid who had video of Lynn Echolls jumping off the Coronado Bridge. Veronica and Weevil strongly suggested that he not mention one word about it (possibly upon penalty of death). I guess they were pretty convincing, because he still wanted V to know his lips were sealed. Dude, she's so moved on from that. Even she probably knows that Lynn's death was just a way for her and Logan to get closer. :)

As a Veronica Mars superfan, I must say that the beginning of this episode felt a bit off to me. I couldn't tell if it was a new director or what, but something didn't seem right. I also thought Kristen Bell sounded a little different last night.
How about when Veronica visited Logan at his locker and he said "I don't like you...", and then finished his sentence. Um, tension?!
All signs are pointing to Beav, but I'm hoping they do a last minute switch, because I LOVE Beav, um, Cassidy. Maybe it's Duncan....he was in scenes, right? I can't wait another week :(

Excellent episode! I was at the edge of my seat the entire time. Woody is mucho creepy and I don't know how Veronica was supposed to deal with finals with the trial going on. I'm guessing that she never had chlamydia and it was a set up to smear her character at the trial.

That was "Lost & Found" by Adrienne Pierce.

What if not pictured means Duncan? Just a thought. Out from left field, but you never know.

I can't believe that they set Aaron free either! You said in the article, Keith, that "Obviously the only way he's going to go to prison now is if new evidence comes out."
That can't happen. It's called double jeopardy. I supposed a civil suit could come about for wrongful death but nothing to put him in prison.
I can't wait for next week!

That scene of Lucky in the catcher's mask and bleaching his feet was one of the weirdest things I've seen on this show. And that's saying a lot.

I think I'm onto something with the Chlamydia and the feet thing.
It's right-out stated here that bleach will not kill chlamydia, but Lucky thought it was athlete's foot: http://www.multiscope.com/hotspot/howcln5.htm
And this page makes specific mention that chlamidia can cause Reiters syndrome, which will show up as a rash on the soles of the feet: http://www.avert.org/chlamydia.htm#chlamydia

I read over on another board that sometimes the victims of child molestation will feel dirty and fixate upon one particular part of the body being unclean. So it is possible that Lucky fixated upon his feet and was trying to clean them using the bleech.
I couldn't believe that Aaron wasn't convicted of anything. I mean, surely there would be enough to convict him of assaulting Veronica. Surely the medical reports would be admissible.
And I had to wonder--how'd his lawyer find out about the chlymedia? Doesn't doctor/patient confidentiality mean anything?

So could Aaron Echolls have blown up the bus in an attempt to kill Veronica after all? Could he be the bad guy in season two as well? Woody is just creepy and that all could have been to throw us off the path of Aaron.
I think I have to go watch that episode again because I feel like I missed something. I just don't want to see Weevil gone because I like him. He is great at helping out Veronica.
At least now we know how Veronica ends up at Hearst College (skipped the exam, doesn't get the scholarship, can't go to Stanford, etc.) Curious if Jackie comes back after a summer in Paris or not. But Mac has to go to Hearst to help out Veronica while she is there. I think Mac is very smart but doesn't apply it to school work all the time so she didn't have the grades to go to MIT or whatever.

Theoretically, they could still nail Aaron for attempted murder on Veronica and Keith, but I think it's more likely that he'll be killed in the next episode. If he stays free and alive, I'm going to be upset--seriously, where's the closure? If he's killed, my money is on Logan doing the deed, because there's no way Aaron wouldn't come after him.
Medical reports would be totally inadmissable, and there's no way the judge would have let Veronica answer that question. They need to explain how the lawyer found out about it in the first place. Veronica didn't even tell Logan. Either it's an oversight on the part of the writers, or the lawyer found out from the person who gave it to her (either Kendall or Meg to Duncan, Meg from being a molestation victim herself? Gotta be a reason Mr. Manning bailed Lucky out).
I'm guessing "Not Pictured" is a molestation victim we don't know about. I thought I remembered them saying that somebody's voice got cut out of the sound file--Dick's, maybe? I thought someone here said a few weeks ago that Cassidy -is- in the picture; otherwise, I'd think it was him. Meg's? (Woody Goodman in cahoots with her father?)
I--as someone said here last week, I think--would not at all be surprised if Duncan turned out not to be the father of Meg's baby.

So that random kid, Hart, that someone said was one of the kids who had the video of Lynn Echolls jumping off the bridge from first season, why would they put him in there, unless there was more to the Lynn Echolls suicide. Remember that lighter Logan had that made him believe his mom was still alive? Maybe she still is, and staged that jump? The video that kids had couldn't get close enough to see who the person was, or if it was a body at all. Maybe she just had to get away from creepy Aaron for threats to kill her, just like he killed Lily? Maybe she'll come back for the next episode to reveal new things about Aaron that will for sure put him in jail. OR maybe she did die, but it was because Aaron threw her over the bridge after possibly beating her to death first, and in the Finale they'll find her body and will find out that Aaron did it to her, and then he can go to jail for murder.
Also, in the preview for the next episode, did I see Duncan, or was I mistaken? I hope he'll be in there, but I didn't see his name in the credits for the next episode.....We'll see but I can hardly wait for next week to come around.

I don't see how they could find Aaron not guilty for rape. Isn't having sex with a minor considered rape, since the consenting minor doesn't have the enough "know-how" to consent? I'm no expert in law, but I always assumed this was true from what I've read in the news. Maybe someone could clairfy that for me.
Overall this was a great episode, here's to hoping Mac and Veronica are roomies at Hearst.

Aaron geting off should be no big shock, three names, O.J. Simpson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson. They could still get him Aaron on conspircy to commit evidence tampering, if he brags about that too and Veronica is wearing a wire or they get Kendall/Percilla to roll. Also, the Kanes could sue him for wrongful death in civil court. As the Brown family did to O.J.

For Evadne:
Actually, earlier in the season when Veronica was looking up Marcos in the yearbook, he was "Not Pictured." I think this may be what the title refers to, though I could be wrong. I'm just guessing based on insane continuity.
