Actually, the SCOTUS did not rule Smith had the gronds to collect the money. It ruled the US cout of Appeals overstepped its authority in hearing the Bankruptcy Court's case. I has been remanded for anoher trial cout to decide wether Smith gets the money.

i feel that anna should get something but necessary all the money she wants. the family meaning his son should get the bulk pf the estate because they were is legal heirs, way before anna came along. a little sex was all she gave him an that isn't worth millions it was cheap sex if you really call it sex. what can a 80 something old man can do .

Anna Nicole Smith, trashy as she may be, deserves whatever her husband left for her. It doesn't matter how long they were married nor does their sex life matter. What matters is she brought great joy to the years of an old man's life and his children should be grateful for that. He has plenty to go around. I'LL TAKE SOME!!!

anna nicole should have an appropriate percentage of her husband's assets and his children should have an appropriate part of their father's assets also. yes, he was an elderly man, but all people continue to feel loved or hated or lonesome or not lonesome no matter how elderly they are. I think she loved him and he loved her. His children acted unbelievably selfishly. For certain, they didn't respect their dad's happiness at all. and, is there really such a thing as "cheap" sex????I think it was just normal love,sex.

Anna Nicole mRried the man for a year and as his wife she deserves something. IT is not fair to disregard their relationship as cheap. They BOTH gave each other something they needed. She needed a family and he wanted to feel like a whole man although he was elderly and on the decrepid side. Calling her cheap is cheap. Who are we to judge someone else realtionship if it works for them.And it doesnt matter what he can do, he probably made her feel wanted also. Its not like her life was so wonderful. IT is immature to just disregard it because you don't understand it.

legal heirs? what more did the family members do to "deserve" his wealth. the guy could have signed a pre-nup. he didn't. but more importantly, why do any of these vultures deserve to split up $1.6 billion? that money was accumulated through the efforts of at least hundreds if not thousands or more people who worked for marshall. he organized the people with clever ideas and they made the wealth. he's dead now. most of the money should go back to the public. bring back the estate tax and jack it up! redistribute wealth back to the majority, not the reverse!

Why some of you call him a fool? He knows hes dying. He can't take his money into the grave with him. So why not have a some nice looking babe. If I had the money and knew I was dying Id have 10 strippers plesuring me every minute I'm awake, BOTTOM LINE.

It has nothing to do with sex or how old he was or how long they stayed together. It is a matter of a person (old man Marshall) having the right (since he was not incompetent) to dispose of HIS wealth (not his son's wealth) the way he wanted. How can anyone else have the right to dictate how I may be allowed to dispose of MY wealth? If I want I will leave it to a tramp or to my pet cat, everyone else can either kiss my #$@ of earn their own damn $$$.

Tony Zbyszek and Brandi all hit the nail on the head. The old coot did not suffer from dimensia. He knew his days were numbered and wanted to go out in style. He found a piece of ass, large as it was at the time, and decided to have a little fun and promised her a reward at the end.

It was his money to do with what ever he saw fit. You and I knew, she knew and of course he knew she was only in it for the money, but wtf did he care? He got what he wanted and so did she, in a mutual transaction. It was none of his childrens business. She did not deceive him. Hell, she couldn't trick a dog to sniff another dogs ass on her best day.

The kids got a nice chunk of cash in the end and Anna got the bulk. Grow up kids, you had a rich daddy and grew up rich and are well into adulthood nearing or at retirement. You don't deserve a dime. I bet you these kids were spending daddies money before he kicked it.

Personally I'm happy for Anna, and I hope she gets the money that is rightfully hers. Sure his children deserve a large portion of the money as well. But Anna's husband wanted to take care of her and her son. I'm sure he would be highly disappointed at how is children are treating his wife. I think Anna is a very sweet person that has had to overcome many obstacles, she doesnt deserve to be talked about the way that she is.

I think Ana deserves at least half of the estate. Sure, she was in for the money, he got what he wanted--a feeling as if he were young again, a relationship. She made the old man happy on his last year of life. What had his children done for him?

I am just really glad that we will be getting to hear more about this for the next decade. The last ten years just weren't enough for me. Maybe Anna Nicole can turn this whole adventure into another rockin' reality show.

You are all morons. I hope you all have to endure what the Marshall's have had to endure. If you have a will, tear it up; it's worthless. The old man left all his money to his son who brought him much more happiness than Anna. Anna wasn't happy about that so she sues for more. Hopefully this happens to all of you.
