I can't believe how crazy Tom Cruise is. It's not his place to re-name anyone, nor is it his place to decide that Katie is a child's name. Katie Couric would probably disagree. Has he always been this crazy or did he just do a really good job of hiding it?

How torn am I about Tom Cruise? On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being very torn, I'm an 11. First I'd like to say, that he is C R A Z Y. Thats crazy, in all capital letters, spaced out, to show just how crazy he is. He's not insane, because thats to clinical, he's just C R A Z Y. Having said that, I grew up admiring the guy, I grew up wanting to be Tom Cruise, he was Mavrick, he was Cole Trickle, he was Ethan Hunt, and Frank T.J. Mackey. I really like his movies (this isn't a debate on my taste in movies, I enjoy them all the same)

So how do I feel about him now? It's tough, I can't look at him without thinking "god, he is effing crazy" but I can't stop myself from watching Top Gun.


What is a man to do?

I can't help wondering though if Katie Couric might be taken more seriously as an anchor if she used the name "Katherine Couric". As it stands even though we know that she's nearly 50 she has the image of being cute and perky that "Katie" accentuates.

I think the big problem with the name change is that he's the one who's announcing it! Why can't she announce that she's changing her own name? We never hear anything from her. She's not allowed to speak to anyone anymore, not even about her own freakin' name. He gets scarier & scarier every day.

The last time a name change actually worked for a celebrity was Muhammaid Ali. Even Rick(y) Schroder didn't fully take.

How many people still call Sean Combs "Puffy"? Did anybody ever actually say "The artist formerly known as Prince" or did they keep calling him Prince?

Katie is cute, but, I'm sick of hearing about her and Tom. I hope she beat the shit out of him durring her birthing when he got pissed at her for making any sounds.

Until they release a sex tape, I'm not watching anything with Tom in it ever again. I'd so love to see her knockers bouncing freely.

The only person Tom Cruise is in love with is Tom Cruise. Katie....yes, Katie IS her name....only served as an incubator for his baby. The next thing we'll read is how she's been kicked to the curb as an unfit mother and he's going after full custody of the baby. A biological baby of his is all he wanted in the first place. Gee Mr. Cruise, you're sooooooo obvious!

I have always thought T.C. was a head case and a one dimensional actor that knows how to work the propaganda machine for each film he does - which, yes, I've seen & enjoyed most of them - too intense for me, but I will say that intensity is usually a big part of people who have attained the success he has. That being said - I think he's got a skelton in his closet and uses all these women as a shield - is he gay? does he have some genetic disease that he waited so long to have a biological child (maybe science has caught up with his fear and now it's a none issue). I sincerely hope that they are happy together since they have brought a child into this world (even if it's the T.C. show/world). As far as the Scientology end of it - just like all religions - it's a personal choice and shouldn't be shoved down anyone's throat. I believe that whatever fits your life is the right choice but only for you. Best wishes to TomKat and TomKitten and I hope they truly appreciate what a miracle a child is and not a possession that has now finally been attained.

Side note, for some reason I never liked or respected Nicole Kidman until they separated and saw how graciously she handled an extremely personal situation made so public. Not to mention that I think she's done her best work post-T.C.

OMG! That's absolutely ridiculous! LOL Tom Cruise sounds more crazy everyday ("..she's a child-bearing woman now..."). Hey Tom, I dunno if you noticed, but most women are, it comes with the territory :P Ah well, I see nothing wrong with the name Katie. It's endearing and shouldn't necessarily be seen as childish. I just hope it was Katie's decision and not Tom's. This incident kinda reminds me of when Debbie Gibson changed her name to "Debra" instead :P Anyway, she'll always be Katie in my book.

Even when she WAS making comments to the press, he was attached to her hip, her arm, or her lips right after. It really does seem like he wants to control her... which makes me wonder about her. She is either naive and looking for a father figure or she is JUST AS CRAZY AS HE IS!

I think TC is a lunatic. And I look forward to the day that KatIE realizes that she fell in love with the characters Tom plays . . . and not Tom. I don't think he'll do the kicking to the curb . . . I think she'll wake up one day and realize he's just an OLD MAN.

i just finished reading this whole name change thing, and im very irritated, i mean KATIE is her name if he wants to call her KATE then go ahead, but she doesnt need to change her name for anyone, her parents gave her that name, i wonder what they have to say about it, maybe TOM should change his name to TOMMY, since hes the one whos acting childish and seems to have no common sense.

Ok, I am just really bored at work and was reading all of yalls comments about this. Has anyone ever been in love? When you are truly in love, dont you want the whole world to know? That explains why he has been jumping on the couches telling the world how much he loves this woman. As for the changing of the name..She just had a baby, maybe she didnt want to jump up and talk about it. Tom may have been like honey dont worry about it, Ill take care of it. We all really dont know. I think everyone should get over it and let go of all the drama that people are creating and move on with their own life...that is if yall actually have one.

My question is: When is KATIE going to wake up? When is this horrendes publicity stunt going to end? I think Tom Cruise is a demented person, who used to be a good actor. He had to do another Mission Impossible, because the rest of his stuff sucks! Where is the guy we all liked in Top Gun? He seems to drag this girl along everywhere. Just because he got her pregnant doesn't mean she's all grown up now. She has been filming for a very long time now and has made decisions and choices on her own. THAT makes her the grown woman, not the fact that she is a Mom now. Like I said, the sooner this sick publicity stunt is over, the better. I hope she doesn't marry him!!!!!

To put it bluntly, I think Tom Cruise is the world's most well known jack-ass. I truly believe the guy has completely gone over the edge and has lost control over himself much like elderly people lose control of their flatulents. The whole jumping on sofas and promoting Scientology thing only makes me believe that he and "Kate" will be the next two to lead a group of idiots to some random mansion in LA to drink arsenic in order to hitch a ride with the next passing comet.

I don't follow the tabloids that much, but my girlfriend fills me in...while we stand in line at the grocery store. I happen to think "Kate" is a helpless moron who's been hand-picked to carry Tom's baby...but it appears that Tom is gay, so he's just trying to spawn as many little Scientologists as he can from as many willing participants as he can find. I can almost guarauntee that he'll be with another sorry -ass making babies within the next two to three years and "Kate" will be kicked to the curb...or LOST IN SPACE!!!!!

I used to like the guy. I mean, Top Gun and Days of Thunder are fantastic movies, among a few others like Rain Man and Risky Business. However, I have to tell you, I won't see his movies anymore simply because I think all of his profits will be used to build a giant space ship to circle the moon in hopes of starting a colony of Scientologists there. To tell you the truth, I'd rather watch Ben Stiller imitate Tom Cruise and just take his place in all of his movies. That would be incredible.
