(S01E03) This is just a feel good show. I watch it and I feel good. Simple as that, no prescription required. Then of course, I wonder what's wrong with me... that a show about semi-consensual adultery, dishonest relationships, lying, sex, and dirty thoughts about your best friend's fiancée is something that eases my mind and puts a smile on my face.
Who am I kidding? These days, that makes me the norm. The status quo. The guy next door. Which means I'm just like you and you should be watching this show too. It's awfully enjoyable and it's going to be a crying shame if ABC gives it the boot because it lacks in the ratings department. Three episodes in and I can say with certainty that no one should be forgetting about Brian.
The title had a lot to do with this episode, and it extended beyond the fact that Marjorie is moving in with Adam. First off, why is she moving in with him? These two are blatantly not meant to be together and it's ridiculous how far the writers go to make that clear to us. She's supposed to be with Brian! The real tell was when she kept those obnoxious matching lamps that Brian got for her at a flea market by trading his shoes. Now that's love.
Oh, and here's a question. If Brian was friends with a couple of movers, why didn't they get used in the first place instead of the "ex-con movers" which Adam correctly identified as being right out of a porno flick?
OK, back to my original point. Everyone was "moving" in some way. Brian and Dave got a big break when their latest video game received a deal. Nic is moving forward with medical treatments to help her get pregnant (against Angelo's wishes too). Deena finally made a move with that divorced dad. She slept with him in the back of her mini-van in a supermarket parking lot. That's classy. Oh, and most importantly, it seems like Brian is going to make some effort to get over Marjorie (which will never happen) because he bumps into Lisa B. again. This time she says she'll call him which was surprising. What's going to happen when the other Lisa finds out?
I'm starting to understand the title a little more clearly though. We get so much good story about every character (Even Angelo... he auditioned to be the next Mr. Clean), that you're often left wondering, "What About Brian?"

I like this show. I was a big Felicity fan so I knew this would be good. I was hoping that some of the new JJ fans would watch this too so we wouldn't have to worry about it being canceled.
I'm not as big on Brian and Marjorie being together. They throw those big hints at us that they should be together but I'm not buying it. They really do just remind me more of good friends who are confusing emotions and might just ruin everything if they act on it.
It seems the shows I like get canceled so I hope this show makes it. I already lost Love Monkey, not this too.

I am loving this show! I hate Deena so much for what she is doing to her poor dorky hubby. However, I love watching it happen. Does that make me a bad person? Anyway, this is a great show and I hope they don't cancel it. I love it when they say "Jimmy"!

I don't really understand what is motivating Deena (besides hormones). She doesn't seem to like her husband that much, even though he is dedicated to her. So much so that he is willing to go through with the "open" marriage idea. Why is he willing again? Afraid she will leave?

I hate that I like this show. It's morals are absolutely corrupt, but gosh, they present in such a great way that I can't help watching. I have no idea why.

C'mon everyone knows this is the dramedy 1-hour long version of "Friends" - when I watched the first episode I saw this as the continuation of Friends - a bit more mature, everyone has hooked up - and I guess Brian is kind of a amalgam of the single Ross/Joey/Chandler characters.
I was shocked to see that JJ was the executive producer - how does he have time? He left poor Jen Garner with a bunch of hacks who destroyed Alias and lucked out with the Lost team (He wasnt the point man on that anyways) M:I3 better be amazing for leaving my fave TV show and getting it cancelled 2 seasons ahead of its natural conclusion.

I think they said that next week this show is 'climaxing.' (Bad choice for a show that always seems to be climaxing.) In spite of its weaknesses, 'What About Brian'
seems to have more going for it than most stuff out there on network TV. The actors are attrracctive and can actually act fairly well, the sets are way above the usual sitcom variety, and the setups are not totally unplausible. Personally, I'm hoping it gets a continuum on its sort of interesting life, so I can continue to see something without murder in it at 10PM on a weekday night.
