There was a hint in episode before last, that Bill married Nikki because he wanted a loan from Roman. Perhaps its true plus Nikki was able to help with Barb's recovery. And thats the basis for Roamn "tithing" Bill, etc. And then it sort of just fell in to place and he then hooked up with Margene.

I think Alby started freaking out just to get rid of the guy, and acting like that he felt would be the most effective way. I still do not get why he went witrh the gay guy in the first place?

Alby went with the gay guy, mostly likely, because he is GAY - the 'I'm super thanks for asking" variety. The head pounding is, IMHO, his trained response to such my-father-would-hate-this type of behavior.

As for why Bill has 3 wives... yes, Barb is his true love. Nikki clearly came as the price of doing business Roman. Bill get's an investment for Home Plus, and Roman keeps his claws in him via a tithe on earnings AND keeping Bill in the lifestyle. Margene came into the family out of sheer loneliness - and Nikki's conniving. Margene was the abbysitter, from a small town in Colorado, and I think she even said it was the first time she saw a real family, and wanted to be a aprt of it. Add in that Nikki likely pushed for it (to have someone to push around) and boom - who was Barb to say no?

Good ep last night for sure. The lessoned learned is "cover your flanks". Bill went straight at Roman and had protected his wives and children - but left the rest of his family in the firing line.

There was reference in one of the earlier episodes that Barb and Bill looked for a second wife when Barb was battling cancer. The fact that they chose Roman's daughter for the second wife was probably a business decision (as mentioned in earlier posts).

Also, I don't think they did, in fact, bulldoze Bill's parents/brother's home, they simply evicted them. The bulldozers were a threat tactic, but next week's preview shows Bill confronting someone else now living in one of the homes.

I think there are so many layers to these relationships that have just barely been explored. The dynamics of them all is what will make this show interesting for a long time (hopefully).

I think there is more to Nikki's introduction into the family than business. Bill's conviction regarding "living the principle" seems very heart-felt. It would be hard to believe that his major motivator to start living the principle was a business deal. The business is definitely tied-up in Nikki's belonging to his family, but I don't think it was the cause of it.

Also very interesting to me is the depth that we continue to discover in Barb and subsequently her relationships with her sister-wives, particularly Nikki. There is a bond there that transcends mere business agreements, even if neither will readily admit that they care for each other. We've seen glimpses of it already, but I found it especially interesting that Barb did not immediately tell Bill about Nikki's credit card bills. One would think that if Nikki were just collateral, Barb would be all over her (and Bill) about the debt. So far, she does not seem to be.

As I am reading everyone's comments we forget that Roman had Bill's parents and brother kicked out of them home. The title of the epsiode "Eviction" in regards to Abby well he is within himself. He is trying to get his father's attention. Roman has no faith in him (though who does Roman have faith in anyway....) Yes, Barb and Bill share a special bond. They have been married for 25 years, and yes I believe that Nicky part of the loan bargain, but Margie, welll... She is young and naive and doesn't know the whole thing of what "family" means to Barb and Nicky. I think what Nicky is doing being sneaky and all is just flat out wrong, but then again what Barb is doing is wrong too. The irony of the saying"we don't have any secrets" made me laugh historical last night. No secrets look around. The whole family has a whole lot of them.. makes you wonder if anyone knows what the other one is doing... What about the son (the olderst of Bill's) the car accident.. ok no ones seems to realize that he missed class to get in the car and the whole thing about his sexuality.. well.
I am glad it's been picked up for a new season. It does have you turning and shaking your head. I am curious to find out what he does to Roman. Until next time.

"Home Plus is Us" might be great writing but as a fan of Big Love, and a Mormon, it's only great if refering to polygamists are "Us". As Mormons, please remember everyone... we're NOT polygamists!!!! fyi

I think that Bill has it going on, I am a little confussed about all the sex issues, I am not sure who can have sex when and are they certain times for these things?

Three wives are a necessity in order to "enter the celestial kingdom" in the fundamentalist Mormom doctrine (polygamists groups like Roman's).

I still have no clue what the Alby storyline was about. Where was Roman sending him and why? I don't even know what that whole thing was about or where it came from. Re: Nicki. I'm not 100% sure he married her just to get the loan. HBO.com has little blurbs about each character that gives insight into the characters' past and the history of their relationships. For Nicki it says "When she hit her early 20's, Nicki moved to suburban Salt Lake City and to help Bill and Barb Hendrickson with child care, and soon became Bill's second wife." From what we know Barb had cancer and cannot have anymore children. From what we see of Nicki on the show maybe we are to believe she just as opinionated and stubborn then as she is now and wormed her way into the family. Or maybe Barb really thought she was going to die and was trying to make sure her family was taken care of and had a "mother" figure.

I was confused about Alby, as well. It seems that he may actually have some homosexual tendencies. He may enjoy the fact that he can resist his feelings and that is why he put himself in such a position.

Niki is going to prove a much greater threat than we all assumed, I think. Especially with her going to her father to make payments on her credit cards.

Regarding Bill and his brother being kicked out of their house...I read an interesting article about so-called 'Lost Boys.' Young, Mormon boys are forced out of compounds at a young age so that the young women are available to the younger men. I realize that this is a small faction of the Mormon community, regardless...gross.
