According to The Hollywood
Reporter, HBO likes Big Love enough to bring it back for a second season. The series is about a polygamist
family consisting of a husband, three wives, and seven children (and at least one wife wants another child). The viewership for Big Love hasn't been impressive, with about 50% of Sopranos' viewers not sticking around for the show. It has been averaging about 4 million viewers each Sunday night. Those numbers are comparable to HBO's Deadwood.
Season two of Big Love begins filming in August.

I am glad to hear this news. I am really getting into Big Love and, by the way, it is hard to say you want another child when you are still taking your birth control pills. Very sneaky Nicki! I especially love Ginnifer Goodwin's character Margene. She is great to watch!

Wow, I'm so glad to hear that HBO is bringing back BIG LOVE, especially when Carnivale ended so abruptly! Yes, Margene is great to watch, as is Nicki's manipulation, secret debt, and bizarre father attachment. And Barb, I think, will demonstrate that she's simply in love with her husband and will do anything to keep him, even if that means sharing. I hope to see more of the kids' stories, too, especially the teenagers and Tina Marjorino.

Did anyone else catch Nicki urging Bill on in the opening love scene to give her a boy and then telling Barb she wants a girl "for her"? Love her sneaky character and Margene's sweet innocence. Still finding it hard to believe poligamy actually exists....

Remember one of Nikki's dad's men told Nikki that she only became Bill's wife because Bill needed the loan from her Dad. I think poor Nikki just has a bad self image (never being enough). The significance of being wife # 2, and is only trying to please everyone, including herself. She certainly doesn't want another child, hence the birth control.

I love, love, love this show. After lining in Utah for 4 years and not being a "member" I get such a kick out of what really goes on behind the closed doors.

Where were the continuity guys on the last two episodes? Last night Nikki revealed credit card debt of $58,000 like it was big news! Didn't she do the same thing in the previous episode as she and Barb were having milkshakes after her incident at the store? How could they miss a flub this huge?

Am delighted show is coming back for another season! Am surprised viewership isn't bigger, show is fascinating. Bill's ego is taking them all for a ride currently. Nikki is becoming a more sympathic character to me as time goes on, lot's of complicated reasons behind her behavior. Her mother is ghastly, a smiling Stepford wife, which in a way she really is. Great show, and there's so little worth watching on TV anymore that this is even more of a treat to have! Keep `em coming!!!

I'm hooked on this show. At first, from the previews anyway, I thought it was going to be a little too dramatic for my taste. I'm more of a Nip/Tuck fan. ...but with the humorous parts of it, I think it's great. I can't see how a man can juggle three wives who all have children, and another baby on the way. Margene's the cutest. Nikki's too mean. Barb's my favorite.

I love this show! I am anxiously awaiting Season Two!
The show has fantastic character definition. One of the best actresses on the show is Bill's mother,Lois Henrickson. I really like the complexities of the relationships and Nikki's character, in particular, is fun to watch. As a viewer, I have a love-hate relationship with her. She tends to grow on you though and you gain some respect for her like when she stood up to Barb's sister.
Yes, Bill Paxton is very handsome! The shows creators went a long way to make his character appealing in charisma and looks. It makes the show "work"; otherwise the average viewer would have a hard time watching a polygamist whom they did not like.
For me, the show also educated me about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know this show is based on Mormon Fundamentalists but it still educates the viewer on LDS beliefs and lifestyle. I really like their family centered beliefs. The LDS church calls this show Lazy Entertainment but I found it gave me a new found respect for Mormons(not polygamy of course)and their beliefs. Here is a press release from LDS.org about their views of the show. http://www.lds.org/newsroom/showrelease/0,15503,4044-1-23015,00.html
Does anyone know when Season 2 begins?
