I'm not shocked at Ace getting the boot. His number has been up since he couldn't top "Father
Figure." (Ugh, that was like the first week, right? And did you notice that Queen was not in his "Bad
Day" montage? Ha ha ha!) But Chris in the bottom 3?!?!?! I suppose that America is to blame. We let
him down. That's what Paula is going to tell us next Tuesday, I'm sure. But, I guess we are to blame. I didn't
vote for Chris last night. I felt sorry for Ace, so I voted for him. It was a sympathy vote that I wish I could take
back. I figured that Chris would slip into the bottom 3 at least once (before triumphantly winning this whole
thing), but not until a later date. I know this sounds silly, and only confirms my complete absorption into
AI addiction, but I felt a little bit nauseas when I saw Chris standing there next to Ace.
The mere thought of Chris going home prematurely made me want to throw up. So, that
confirms it -- I'm officially a member of Team Chris. I'm pledging my allegiance right now.
Paris was also in the bottom 3. Certainly, she did not deserve to be there. Kellie was the worst performer, and Elliott seems to be lacking monumental fan support. The problem with Paris is that she's slipping through the cracks. She was a front runner too early and she's sliding down a slope of our over-hyped expectations. I think that's why she keeps landing in the bottom 3. As far as Kellie is concerned, I think it's going to be a while before she leaves. Simon loves her and isn't giving her the negative comments he should. If any other contestant would have given the same performance that she gave last night, he would have torn them to pieces. He was pretty mild with her. But most importantly, let's not forget that Kellie is pretty freaking hot. Blonde Pretty Skinny. Even with a bad night, that's an equation hard to beat.
Finally, what was up with Taylor doing the psych-out thing by walking over to Chris and shaking his hand and then walking back over to the "safe team?"
Was that...
a) Taylor trying to be funny?
b) Taylor being a jerk?
c) SOUL PATROL!!!!!!!!!!!

I hated to see Chris standing in the bottom 3 too, but I certainly am not foolish enough to believe that America's votes had anything to do with that!
I don't vote because they don't matter. AI producers put who they want where they want. I still think Chris will win, not just because I want him to win, but because he's a the most marketable and contemporary finalist. And it helps that he's a white male, a demo that hasn't "officially" won yet. I say "officially" because we know who really won season 2 don't we. *wink wink*

I think it was (d) Taylor avoiding being manipulated by the drama of Ryan Seacrest. He has probably seen the show before and knows that when they do groups like this it is usually because the bottom group is not who you would expect.
I think that being in the bottom will help Chris out a lot. Like Lacy says above, this will now rally his fans to vote and make sure this does not happen again.
I voted for everyone this week (some more than others) except Kellie because she sucked and Chris because I could never get through. I assumed it was because so many other people were voting for him but I guess not.

I knew that Chris was going to be in the bottom 3 on Tuesday night when I voted for him and EVERY time I phoned, I got through. It was scary. I ended up voting for him several times because I COULD always get through. America needs to vote for him! I also worry how he is going to do next week with "greatest love songs". Do you think they are trying to make it hard for him to sing well?

i think your on to something kira.....[trust no one ]
doesnt anybody wonder why they NEVER actually give the result numbers? whoever is in that room can put whoever they want where they want...even on the finals;
you think they would give the actually numbers rather than saying "millions voted and it was sooo close."
i really wish they were doing opera next week so we could here pickler sing something from MADAME BUTTERFLY
but then again her comment would be "gollygeese i didnt know butterflys were hookers"

Finally, Mr. Falsetto is gone. Ace, you're a nice guy...but in listening to Paula about keeping the falsetto up finally did you in. Now, how about taking out the cute, but dumb blond, Kellie next week? Wish everyone would quit bashing Paris. Each and every week, she comes dressed in style for her performance and seems to get every note just right. She's a true entertainer. Katherine's got the pipes...no doubt about it...just doesn't seem to have any style. Chris just hollors when it comes to rock 'n roll...can't stand it and his actual 'singing' voice is OK...but that's about it. Elliot gave a stylish performance last night...a good night club act. Taylor...You're the man! Has style through and through. What was that all about with Ryan putting Taylor on the spot the way he did? Ryan...I've always admired and respected you as a host...but that little fiasco last night took you down a notch or two in that department. Shame on you...and kudos to you Taylor for the way you handled it. Until next week...

America voted. Chris this week messed up. Ace definitely needed to go. Paris needs to go next. (THE SQUEEKY VOICE IS HORRIBLE). She can sing, but who wants to hear her talk? UGH! UGH! Taylor has personality (THAT WAS A JERKY THING TO DO TO MAKE HIM CHOOSE IN FRONT OF AMERICA!). Kellie is real (she has been raised by er grandfather) innocence is not a bad thing. Kellie will make it in the Country Music World. Katharine is elegant. Elliott is a very nice guy. He should stay in the disc jockey business (Ryan Seacrest can help him with that career move). THE AMERICAN IDOL: CHRIS and TAYLOR (THEY EACH HAVE TALENT AND STYLE).

i think america felt too safe with Chris so they voted for everyone else instead. Plus the judges keep directing Chris away from his element. Chris needs to stick to Rock n Roll that is what he is best at. Nobody should pick on any of these contestants. They all have talent and only one can win. That is hard on all of them and they have all worked hard. Good luck to whoever wins.

First, I will say that though I liked Ace (really because he was soo easy on the eyes), it was him that should have gone home, unless people would actually base their votes on the performance of the week, or other weeks, and vote of Kellie. I am sure we will see Ace again, because anyone that good looking can't just be a "normal person."
It is getting to be a close race now, with everyone being so talented, but, Kellie is going to have to go sooner or later, because looking at the top 6, she is the worst...And SO FAKE I may add. I mean come on, and if it isn't fake, then someone should be advising her to stop talking so much!
But, I had to write in in reply to the comment posted above about how Ryan Seacrest should be ashamed of himself for putting Taylor on the spot..Do you honestly thing that Ryan Seacrest make any decisions about how the show is going to be formatted on a particular week? I highly doubt it....he is just a personality in front of the camera! Don't get me wrong I think that he does a good job, but he has a teleprompter that tells him what he will be saying as each word comes out of his mouth. I guess I just find it interesting that so many people seem convinced that the producers fix the vote or only highlight certain performers because they want them to win, but then some are convinced that Ryan Seacrest has any decision-making authority on the show. I mean the Executive Producer is in the audience each week! The only thing the producers care about is the ratings, they don't really care who wins enough to fix the vote...I mean, it doesn't matter who wins, if they set them up with the right "hook" he or she will be famous, you know? Any of the 6 left could make it...It is all about the PR.

I'm having my doubts about this all being staged too!!
I think Ryan prepped Taylor and told him what to do - Because he shook Chris' hand, than went right over to Katherine.
I so don't understand how Chris and Paris were in the bottom 3 - Unless what you guys are writing is true: that America feels they are safe, so they voted for the underdogs (that makes sence) BUT.... I still feel like it's all staged.
And, if it is staged, it's working - Cause it shocked me, and isn't that what tv is about - the shock value??
When it was down to Chris and Ace the only thing I could think of is that if it isn't staged, than people just stopped voting.
It really does make me wonder. Plus, although Kat is good (and I have to keep saying, i don't like her) I don't think she will win cause than that will be THREE white females -
So.... that makes you wonder too - Staged or not??? They've never had a white male win, so I think it will be Chris or Taylor.. Any one else feel me???

I thought Chris was very good on Tuesday night. His rendition of "What a Wonderful World" made this baby boomer misty eyed. But all my votes (103 of them) went to Taylor. In the end, I think it will come down to Chris and Taylor.

After the qui show scandal of the 1950's, I don't think any TV show, especially the top show in the country, is going to risk being exposed as rigged. Besides, if it were, Clay Aiken would have beaten Rueben Stoddard several years ago. He was the darling of tons of old ladies who live alone with their 15 cats.

last night was a disgrace. now u know that the votes (as per american idol) were definitely not done by the americn public...it was rigged!! hey it's for the purpose of ratings i presume. chris and paris had no business in the bottom 3. why is everbody picking on paris. i tell u this she will get the most lucrative contract out of all of them. katgherine is not as good as they claim her to be. taylor is a good singer and a nice dude but i'm not so sure he's fit for the american idol. well the only 2 people remaining there who has never had any kind of true exposure is taylor and kellie. everyone else has been established through some form or the other. still cannot take away the natural and raw talent that they possess. so in all fariness, kelly and taylor is more needy for the attention than the others. go ahead america have them win this competition. in all the other season of american idol 2nd, 3rd and even 4th runner ups has came out on top and did there thing, no worries...go paris and go chris!!! let them give the title to whomever. i'm just frustrated with all the injustice in this competition. besides it's mere entertainment

I could not believe that Chris, Ace, and Paris were in the bottom three. The worst singer for the week was Kelly. I also think that Elliott did not do that well. My wife is so upset that Ace is gone, although I do not think that Ace is the best singer, I do not think that he was the worst and should have left this week. I think that Chris should win it all. I am also kind of partial to Taylor. I do feel it will be a guy who wins it this time. I also think Seacrest was wrong in putting Taylor on the spot, but, he does that every year. As for the whole thing being staged, I believe as it gets closer to the end, that it is. We will just have to wait and see.

Seeing Chris up there with Ace was giving me flashbacks to last season when they booted Constantine prematurely. So glad it didn't turn out that way this time! I guess I'm actually going to have to start voting this year.

I just want to comment on the "Paris has such a squeaky voice" issue. Yes, she does, it's true, and it can be annoying. But why should her speaking voice have any influence on whether you should vote for her? I'd just like to point out that two of our greatest female singers (Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys) sound horrible when they speak (compared with their singing voices), but that doesn't affect their album sales.
