Can we really
take a man named Bucky seriously? After his elimination from last week's American Idol competition,
28-year-old Bucky Covington is stating that the comments made by judge Simon Cowell are no longer
helpful.
Covington believes that Cowell's comments these days are more insults then they are constructive criticism. He also goes on to say that Simon has his favorites and, regardless of how performers like himself do, others will never get positive reviews.
Is this: 1. truth; 2. sour grapes; or 3. stuff that we already knew about Simon but Bucky decided to say to get into the press? I go with number three.

I'll go with number 3 as well, although I do think he got a basket of sour grapes as a parting gift.

Simon, Paula and Randy are there to "judge," not to offer constructive criticism.
I'll offer a little, though: Get a haircut and an education.

None of the "judges" offers any real, consistent advice. That's not why they are there. Although they tell the performers to try something different, they don't like it when they do. They said they liked Chris for staying with his rock, but now they want to see some range.
Bucky was simply just not good enough (read: not the right type) for American Idol. I hope he enjoyed his 15 minutes.

Number 3, definitely! I'll go one further: America thinks it's smart by "listening" to Simon. Since he's the one who's really really mean, he must be right. Well played, Buckstache. Well played.

Nice one Bucky. Always knew Bucky was a nice guy. If I had known he had such spunk when he was on the show I would have been a bigger fan.

Bucky was right with what he said about Simon, the truth hurts!
I saw Bucky on Regis his morning and he did a good job but the piano player that they gave him was horrible!!
I think that Bucky did a good job dispite his poor back up.

Bucky could not sing his way out of a paper bag.no wonder he was canned. Simon is usually right, although cruel and rude.I think he runs this show. his openion is critical, and usually on cue.
Sorry Bucky, go back to washing cars.

I think Bucky's comments were #1: truth.
I also found some of Simon's comments to be disappointingly meaningless last week. The comment about Paris was an excellent example. The judges have historically both evaluated the performances and given tips on improvement and I think we've come to expect both. I will miss Bucky as I enjoyed his raw voice and down-home Southern rock charm and style. I always looked forward to his interview and wish I could have seen him on Regis today. Hope to see his name in lights again soon!

Bucky did the same thing on Ellen that he did on Regis and YES that piano player IS HORRIBLE!! He's the same dude that helps the Idol contestants rehearse!
What a bummer for them.
Bucky's a nice fellow and I wish him well.

I knew Bucky would not make to the end, but I think he could make it as a country singer, a lot of people didn't think Grath Brooks could sing but he sold more record than anyone in the 80's and 90's, You never know, you go Bucky!!

It was time for Bucky to go, No big deal this is a competition. Simon is usually right on target, giving good constructive cretinism. The judges need to stop
judging Simon and pay more attention to the contestants.

Bucky can't sing, at all, no amount of constructive critism would have helped. He seems like a nice guy, but I don't watch American Idol because of how nice everyone is.
