Queen not happy with American Idol
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 13th 2006 2:40PM
Somehow, I knew this was going to happen.Queen guitarist Brian May writes in his online journal that not only did AI show a conversation that he thinks should have been private, but they also edited the footage, causing a big misrepresentation to what actually happened. May makes clear that he and the band liked Ace and wish him all the best, but that what happened on the show isn't quite what happened in real life.
A TV reality show distorting the facts? No!!!!!

Well, this isn't the first time we've heard about AI's "creative editing"! I don't think it affects the outcome greatly. The viewers vote in who they like and that's the bottom line. But who would edit Queen, man! what an honor to have them as guests and then turn around and do something disrespectful to them such as misrepresent their thoughts or feelings! Wow!

Does this TV show really matter that much? I used to watch "The Odd Couple" and "Sanford and Son", but I didn't go crazy over them. I don't have enough time to listen to professional musicians much less these bozo's.

Nice of you to take time out of your busy schedule just to make a post about the show!

Huh? Brian May clearly told Ace he wouldn't play his song the way Ace wanted him to. Or was the edited in?
Ace is a tool. Brian shouldn't have any regrets.

This season, like last season, just doesn't inteest me. It's just so...I don't know...amateur.
Which is funny since this new crop has so many professional entertainers on it. Much like last season.

Thanks, Melissa....I needed to say it. When I was a boy, I guess I could tolerate that kind of thing. But I am a man now....I think there are so many shows for people who don't read....

ALL reality shows present a very distorted view. Contestants from all of them complain about how they are presented, and others talk about how they plan to become the bitchy one, the jerk, etc. into order to stand out.
It's just a different way to entertain ourselves. If the Idol producers revealed more of that show, then I'm sure we would find that some of it is manipulated (like how they present the film clips, order, judges comments, etc.). I even question how they pick the last person who is NOT in the bottom three. Certainly gives the impression and they're in the bottom 4, when there is no reason (based on their words) that they really are.

huh? lol
everything is manipulated for maxium ratings effect..
they want us to talk about it...
its so obvious in every show now...the nitely newscasts started it long ago.. did you ever see the same story broadcast on different networks ? completely different takes on it...twisted to the point THEY want to bring across..[ the humerous side or the sad angle ]
we cant take things too seriously anymore..because tomrrow it;s about something else.

i am not illiterate because i watch Idol, i enjoy music and that's why i watch the show. i could care less about the "tricks", i just like to see kids who would never have a chance in the music world, go to number one, kelly clarkson is a good example. i'm not stupid, just entertained.
