While watching Scrubs
last night, I saw a familiar face in a promo for the new NBC sitcom, Teachers. The guy on my television screen
had his arms stuck in the window of a car and I had to pause my TiVo and stare at the TV because I swear I knew him from
somewhere! With Scrubs on hold, I went to NBC's webpage for Teachers and found out who the guy was. It's Deon Richmond, y'all! He played Rudy's friend Kenny ("but I call him 'Bud'") on The Cosby Show. Since then, he appeared in Eddie Murphy's Raw and Spike Lee's Mo Better Blues. He's also appeared on a string of sitcoms, including a recurring role on Sister, Sister.
It's great to see him, but I'm still not going to watch that show.

Teachers is Awful, and for some reason Keep watching it. Damn my TIVO.
The Women on it are cute and the blond was on the UK Show 'Couples' and I liked it and her. Reason one. the hot latin teacher is reason 2. (I try to never remember names)
The BBC Show teachers is/was better. Again the BBC knows how to do a good TV show

Michael G, the BBC didn't make the UK programme Teachers, Channel 4 did, and it has no relation to this machine-scripted dross that NBC is pushing. Just because something's English doesn't mean that the Beeb had anything to do with it.
Oh, and "Coupling" is the other show that you're thinking of.

Thanks John, I was trying to stretch a long line to compare Ch4 Teachers and NBC teachers.
The main Character is a slacker in both ,and hate his job, hangs out with the "ethnic guy" Wants to sleep with other teachers, drinks with the other teachers. is loved by the kids, and get in trouble.
Coupling, you are correct. "johnny tell him what he has won"

I like Teachers, it's funny, and there's nothing else on in that time slot that I'm particularly interested in (since I started DVRing House so I could watch Scrubs).
I also enjoyed that last night they had a guest star, Carter from Spin City (I don't know his real name) who I absolutely love, lol.

Richmond was in that episode (among others) of the Cosby Show where Mr. H had to explain how to pronounce "crouton." Kenny kept saying "crowton." I think of that episode almost every other time I'm having a salad.

Teachers is fairly funny, and its a good way for a "sometime" actor to get back into the spotlight. Perhaps because of this Deon "Bud" Richmond will get a better opportunity and appear on something more substantial, because I don't think Teachers will last much longer, its going to fade into sitcom heaven very soon.

No Anne, he wasn't shot in California. Cosby's kid was shot though. His car was broken down and somebody shot him to death.

the guy you're thinking of, evans, was the black kid from the steve harvey show. it was tragic, but thankfully, not the same person.

lol...I started watching the show just to see Bud! Of course, as a teacher, I overanalyzed it (Why is her shirt so low-cut? What teacher would wear that? Why are all of the female teachers pretty?) Although, I did get a signiicant amount of joy out of the fact that the principal's henchman was a math teacher named Mitch. Our "henchman" is a German teacher named Mitch...and he even wears the tight khakis! Other than that...the show pretty much sucks. My classroom is a million times funnier! Besides, a comedy about teachers should be a dark comedy...since things that we find funny in the break room are usually at the expense of the kids...

Buud wasn't shot! You're thinking of Merlin Santana. He played Stanley on the Cosby Show. Stanley and Buud both liked and fought over Rudy. Merlin Santana also played on the Steve Harvey Show as Romeo.
