Best and worst SNL movie performances

The Boston
Phoenix has another list (they've been doing this a lot lately), and this one lists what they think are the
best and worst movie performances from
Saturday Night Live
cast members. While it's great to have Bill Murray number one, it's for
Ghostbusters?! What about
Lost In Translation? Or
Stripes? Or
Rushmore? How about
Groundhog Day? (Same thing
with Janeane Garofalo - they pick
Wet Hot American Summer?)
Among the best: Eddie Murphy in
Bevery Hills Cop, Adam Sandler in
The Wedding Singer, and Harry Shearer in
This Is Spinal
Tap. Among the worst: Eddie Murphy in
The Adventures Of Pluto Nash, Adam Sandler in
The
Waterboy, and Jimmy Fallon in
Fever Pitch.
OK, SNL fans, who's missing from this list?

I can't believe they misquoted the late Phil Hartman! You'd think they'd go to the trouble to get the quote right if they're going to use quotes.

First off, I LIKED Jon Lovitz in High School High.
And I'll even go as far as to say that I liked Al Franken's performance in Stuart Saves His Family, because you get to meet Stuart's family and see how he turned out to be the person he is. It wasn't a great movie, but it's not the stinker that so many people make it out to be.
Finally, here's a great show-stealing performance the list missed: Gilbert Gottfried in The Aristocrats. Yes, Sarah Silverman was good in the film as well, but Gilbert was the highlight, and, in a way, the hero of the story.

Is it the same guy who makes these lists every time? He really sucks. You guys could come up with something better, I'm sure. And I wholeheartedly agree about Gilbert Gottfried. Did this guy actually watch any of these movies? Sober?

You have got to be kidding me. Waterboy was awesome! I guess they don't get it because they don't live in the south like I do.

Wet Hot is fantastic. I don't know about Janeane's performance in particular, but the movie is one of my favorite comedies. Interesting that Tim Meadows got on the list for another cast member's movie.

I totally agree with Nicki. Wet Hot is a great movie. Don't bag on Wet Hot. Janeane rocks in it. Go Wet Hot.

I can't believe they left out the my favorite movie of all time, "Trading Places". You get not one but two SNL Alumni in Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd. This movie had everything: insider-trading, pimps, and of course, Jamie Lee Curtis. Awesome.

What's wrong with Fever Pitch? It wasn't a lame comedy like A Night at the Roxbury or Superstar. Jimmy did a great job, and I can't wait to see Factory Girl.

"'Trading Places'. You get not one but two SNL Alumni in Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd."
I thought the list was predicated on the fact that the actors have to be cast members at the time the movie was released, which is why Christopher Guest wasn't included for This Is Spinal Tap. So Murphy would count for Trading Places, but Akroyd wasn't on the cast in 1983 when Trading Places came out. However, Sandler is counted for Wedding Singer which was way after his time was over. So I guess the movie just can't PRE-date the cast member's stint on SNL. Which makes the omissions from the list even more egregious.
"The worst snl movie performance has to be Chris Farley in Dirty Work."
Chris Farley and Adam Andler were both uncredited in Dirty Work. I don't know if that counts.
How about Anthony Michael Hall in The Breakfast Club or Weird Science? Happy Gilmore is a classic, both Sandler and Nealon ("Doing the Bull dance... Feeling the flow... Working it... Working it..."). Dave Koechner as Champ Kind in Anchorman. Will Ferrell as Frank the Tank in Old School. Chevy or Martin Short in the Three Amigos. So many glaring omissions to choose from.
