There was something odd about tonight's episode. Did you notice a complete lack of several
key people? Tom Scavo? Any of the Applewhites? I realize there are contracts to stay in line with, but it just seemed
completely odd not to see these people at the engagement party.Speaking of Tom Scavo, someone made mention of that little secret he told his father that Lynette could never find out about, and that's the last we heard about it. I wonder when that's going to come up. Anyway, that's way off the subject of tonight's episode.
I was actually a bit surprised that Karl still had a thing for Susan. Finally something to make that storyline a
little more interesting, as Karl is one of my favorites on the show.
As for Gabby and Carlos, I really think
Gabby's issues with having a kid is going to rub me the wrong way, though Carlos stepping up could be the saving grace
there.
Here's the big problem I have with the lawsuit Bree is battling. Wouldn't it make a whole lot of
sense for her to call her daughter into the room on her behalf? I'm not sure she condones what her brother is doing, at
least not to this extent.
Now I'm wondering where the whole Paul Young thing is going to wind up, since he
really is a cold murderer, and more than one person on Wysteria Lane know it.
Quote of the episode:
Carlos: "And what's the sticker price on a child, huh? Tell me that."
Gabby: "I'm
thinking twelve (thousand)."

On remark about where Tom is - This is the second week in a row where we have scenes at the office and there's no Tom. There was a staff meeting of some sort last week, and... no Tom. Odd? Yes. Especially since he would have had a number of good one-liners or funny commentary last week with the breastfeeding 5 year old.
I'm not quite sure why Mrs. Huber's sister is suddenly getting all out of whack about Paul - I mean - if she can't get Noah to kill Paul, and Mike won't do it for her now - why not just turn him in? Or kill him herself.
As far as getting the daughter to testify - she could - but Andrew's attorney could just turn around and say she's not a viable witness since Bree could have coerced her into testifying on her behalf - implying that Bree would beat her daughter if she didn't testify. Don't see it as a viable option - plus it's risky - she's still not 100% certain where her daughter stands with her.

Last week, right before the staff meeting, Lynette was on the phone with Tom and said something to the effect of "have fun in New York, I'll see you in a couple of weeks." It seems Tom has gone on a business trip or something. Odd that no mention is made of how Lynette is able to handle the kids all by herself. However, that aspect received plenty of coverage in earlier episodes and the first season.

Well, the kids are in day care. And it seems that Lynette handles them by herself after work any way.
As far as Bree & Danielle, I think they're at odds over Betty's Applewhite son. Bree doesn't approve, and remember, Danielle gave Betty's son the dish on Bree so that she wouldn't turn in Caleb. So, in summary, she's probably not reliable, lest she start talking too much. I'd imagine Andrew wouldn't want her to chime in either.
