David Tennant as Doctor WhoThe publicity bandwagon has started rolling in to town for the much-anticipated second series of Doctor Who, which will mark Scots actor David Tennant's first full season in the guise of the famous time-traveling Gallifreyan.

Most of the main U.K. media outlets and tabloid newspapers are gearing up for the launch of season 2 (date still to be announced) with a variety of interviews and features concentrating on the forthcoming series.

However, today's main news surrounded David Tennant agreeing to play The Doctor well into a third series, and perhaps beyond -- along with his companion, Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper.

The new series will see the return of The Doctor's trusty side-kick robotic dog K-9, and a re-vamped version of the silver-suited arch-enemies, The Cybermen.

TV Squad will be reviewing each episode of the new series when it kicks off here in the U.K., so keep your browser pointed in this direction for every last spoiler and plot twist.
