My personal wayback machine is on the fritz but I remember a website doing something like this several years ago. It was call something like "Saw it on TV" or "As Seen on TV". It got some hype then went away as many of the dot COMs of the day.

The As Seen on TV site was for items shown on infomercials on TV. This is completely different and unfortunately, millions will spend their money on these things. I wish that people could realize the incredible value of their own lives and the opportunioities they have each day to be a star to someone, a hero in their own communities. Instead of spending 500.00 on a dress to look like Pickler, spend a day mentoring a young kid in trouble, more productive and less costly... donate the money to a school library, or a summer reading program, etc... Get the point?
The site, however, will be wildly popular, I expect it will make tons of money.
