Last night's episode of Monk marked the end of the fourth season, and all in all it was a decent episode.

The episode begins with Stottlemeyer and Disher chasing down a federal criminal, a man on the FBI's Most Wanted List that Stottlemeyer has been tracking for over three years. Much to his disgust, the feds come in to take over the investigation.

Meanwhile, Monk is selected for jury duty. This seemingly has nothing to do with Stottlemeyer's criminal, but if you've seen Monk enough times you know it all comes together eventually. Monk doesn't like the idea of working with, or even being around other people, and his eccentricity begins to wear thin on his fellow jurors, especially when he begins to utilize his detective skills to eventually prove the innocence of the man on trial.

While I can't believe anyone with as many hang ups as Monk would ever be allowed to serve on a jury, his interaction between the rest of the jurors was hysterical. When it turns out one of the jurors is trying to help her boyfriend escape from prison and ties all of them to their chairs, Monk manages to grab a knife out of an evidence bag. Instead of freeing his fellow captors, he uses the knife to straighten the blinds. Despite his appearance, Monk eventually manages to solve two cases while locked in a third story room. In the end, he earns the respect of his peers, even if they do still find him annoying.
