You may
have noticed that Wednesday night's episode of South Park was not the one where Tom Cruise refuses to come out
of the closet numerous times, as was previously scheduled. The abrupt change actually had nothing to do with the fact
that the episode was the final straw for Chef Isaac Hayes. Comedy Central yanked that
episode at the last minute because Tom Cruise threatened Viacom with pulling Mission: Impossible-3 advertising
if it aired again (is anyone else nervous about the amount of power that man has?).South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone released this hilarious and potentially inflammatory statement through their lawyer today:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for Earth
has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your
pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail!
Hail Xenu!!!
-- Trey Parker and Matt Stone, servants of the dark lord Xenu

Scientology may be powerful, but Matt and Trey are gods. I wouldn't want to mess with 'em.

I'm gonna give Comedy Central a slight pass on this. CC's statement was that they aired the Chef episodes as a tribute to a great character that isn't going to be around anymore. That pass will be revoked if they don't air the scientology episode before the release of Mission Impossible 3 though.
I would hate to see them cave in to Hollywood when they stood their ground for years over protests from other groups.

I hope Tom realizes he just fracked with the WRONG guys. This is going to be funny as hell to watch them tear him and his looney religion a new one.

I've disliked Tom Cruise for a while, but this takes the cake. Same goes for Isaac Hayes, who was happy to cash checks for South Park episodes that made fun of Christianity and Islam, but suddenly bails out when it hits a little too close to home for him. Good riddance.

I've never been a fan of South Park, but I have to say that I love the temerity of these guys. It appears that Tom Cruise feels he his omnipotent. And to push his buttons just for the sake of pushing his buttons, again, nice move South Park guys. I probably won't watch South Park still, but I'll definitely enjoy the PR war that is sure to ensue.

It's all about the money and obviously Comedy Central needs it if they can be threatened by Tom Cruise.

It's kind of ironic isn't it? Isacc Hayes made money from South Park. What did he spend his money on? Scientology. Hopefully he's saved up enough because Scientology is one of the few religions that requires money to be a part of it. A lot of money.
