Well, this was unexpected. I mean, I certainly
thought that Ace would land himself in the bottom three eventually, but not during the first week. Yeah, I know -- he
wasn't that great last night. But isn't being incredibly attractive enough? I say yes. At this point, I've already
made up my mind as to whom I want to win (Chris Daughtry). So I say, let's keep Ace around as eye candy. Taylor? He's
not candy. Elliott? He's not even a tootsie roll. We need Ace, so vote for him!
And why was Lisa Tucker part of
the loser sandwich? Surely, people liked her better than Bucky. The one thing I love about American Idol is
that they turn surprises like this into life lessons for the viewer. Seacrest waves his little finger at us in disgust
-- "It's all your fault, America. Remember, you gotta vote or this is what happens." We're trying to vote,
Seacrest. We can't get through! It's the 5th hit season...get more phone lines! And while you're getting more phone
lines, rent Stevie a real piano. The man is a legend, and you've got him rocking out on a 1980s electric keyboard. I'm
surprised they didn't just rent him that giant jumping keyboard from Big. I'm sure Taylor knows
how to play one of those.
So Melissa is out. Yawn. I know that some of you really like her, but I never got it. To me, she's the poor man's version of Mariah Carey. The more important question is -- who's voting for Kevin? You jerks.

You had me rolling with the line about Stevie and the piano. I think that last night really separated the group. I know that it was the first week of the finals, but I think that there are 6 main singers who really stand out. By the way, WHY THE HELL IS KEVIN STILL ON THIS SHOW? I mean, I didn't like Melissa and her Skankahitis, but I still would rather have her around than Kevin. Actually, I would rather have Gedeon around. I saw Simon say to his gf (who is a television reporter) after the show that he thinks Chris and Taylor will be in the final. I can see that. I think it's going to be between Taylor and Katherine. Chris is really great, but I think he and a lot of the other singers are going to be hurt when it comes to the theme shows such as the Broadway music.

I know you are being funny, but that wasn't a "1980s electric keyboard." It was a Yamaha MOTIF6, a pricy (list price $2,250.00, but you can get it for around $1,000.00) and sophisticated electronic synthesizer.

I agree, WHY is Kevin still there? I so expected him to go in the INITIAL eliminations but nooooo, he's still there and cutie pie Ace is in the bottom 3 - what's UP with THAT? Kevin is a cute KID, but his singing is no where close to some of the others, including Gedeon. Gedeon may have been "odd" but at least he could sing...sheesh. I love Taylor, but I think Katherine is going to go all the way.

There's something odd going on - a bunch of posts are surfacing about lots of Ace fans who got "this number is not connected" messages as they were trying to vote for him.
Ace in the bottom 3 and Kevin and Bucky safe - there might be something to it?

The farce that is Kevin Covias continues...and whats worse, is that the once sweet blinking kid, is now becoming a cocky blinking kid.
Thank God for Tivo, as I now have to officially remove him from this show via the "blup blup blup" of the fast forward button.

In my neck of the woods, that horrible song at the end lasted about eight bars, and I laughed and laughed at that! They did a hard cut to the "19" logo in the middle of her second line, didn't they?
Stevie Wonder's song. Love Stevie Wonder, but noticed I couldn't hear that piano he was playing most of the time, and I had the sound up. I think this is the same problem where some of the microphones used by the performers seem to pick up differently. Stevie got the same crappy mic that Taylor Hicks got last night -- no bottom end pickup, so the voice gets lost. (obviously, if it's the same exact mic, someone needs to be better at the sound board, but what do I know?)

If I had my way Katherine McPhee and Taylor Hicks make the finals. Based on what they can do they are by far the two best in the competition right now. Mandisa and Chris are close behind, but not as good.
Kevin, Bucky, the Pickler, and Paris should be the next to go in that order.
I know Kevin is getting the votefortheworst.com and pitty vote, and that is probably keeping him alive, but it is a slap in the face and a farce to keep him alive.
He sucks!!!!
If you respect American Idol you will do anything in your power to stop people from voting for him.

I almost jumped for joy when I saw Ace named first for the bottom three... this guy does NOT belong here anymore than Kevin does. Even my wife has grown tired of his looks and attempts to seduce the 12 year old girls in the audiance. Next will will not be too soon to see him go.
Was sad to see Melissa go, I think she is better than a few still around, but way better she went than Lisa. What were people thinking? Lisa is in the top 4 in both voice and performance style.
My top 5 as of now....
1. Kat
2. Taylor
3. Chris
4. Lisa
5. Paris
Get it right America!

Ace does not belong in the bottom three. The voters are turning the show, once again, into a farce (for no other reason than simply because they can,) No, Ace most likely will not win, but he's clearly more entertaining than a handful of the others. The problem is with the system of being able to send in a jazillion votes from one phone line. I suppose the producers like the shock value this brings and it doesn't matter that a more deserving contestant gets the boot.
Kellie is a total dits and Kevin isn't more than the lead in his school play.
It is, like Simon said, a wake-up call for both Lisa and Ace. Unfortunately, even a great performance won't keep the cult of 'jerks' from phoning in for who they consider the 'best of the worst'. Ridiculous.

Anyone who knows Stevie Wonder - Knows that he most often uses an electronic keyboard when he's performing.
I don't understand, why they continue to have theme nights with greats like Stevie and Elton whose songs are such that if they are done well they do sound like Kareoke, and if they're done differently - they sound like classics done differently. I like when they do genre themed (i.e. country, classic rock, Mo-town) or period themed (i.e. 80's) nights so the artists can really find a song to make "their own"
When a singer is voted off, I think they should get to sing us out with his/her choice of a song he/she has previous sung. (although that might be hard for the band if they played it live.) They could have the music tracks though.
"The farce that is Kevin Covias continues...and whats worse, is that the once sweet blinking kid, is now becoming a cocky blinking kid." I loved this comment!

I tried calling a dozen times - phones were busy. Finally I said screw this. I will not vote again. HOWEVER: It doesn't make sense that people are losing if their line is busy. It would simply reflect that others are mega-calling that line. Or, at least, one would assume this is the case. Wasn't there an investigation or lawsuit into this? Didn't some hot looking bimbo take it to the Supreme Court with her little dog? Waitaminute, different story. Nevermind.

1. Ace is just this year's Constantine; he will be gone soon
2. Even folks in the bottom three multiple times can win - remember Fantasia?
3. Kevin Covais belongs on there like Master P belonged on Dancing with the Stars. I think people vote him through out of sympathy.
4. Don't tell Stevie Wonder that that wasn't a full-sized piano. Seriously, I'm glad they picked an artist like Stevie Wonder this year. Remember the Barry Manilow episode? We must never let that happen again. I'd love to see a Beatles and/or Paul McCartney theme. Plenty of variety to let each singer find a song for his or her voice.

It's not that Kevin sucks, it's just that somebody is dialing his number like crazy. I'm from NY and I like the kid but c'mon. I hope that Paris is the next to go. I don't know why but I absolutely can't make myself like her. I guess she's a cute kid but not IDOL material....now Taylor/Chris/Mandisa and Katherine.....they are Idol material.
GO BO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

What is wrong with America? ACE in the bottom three? Completely shocking. Trust me, his fans got a wake-up call and will ensure this doesn't happen again anytime soon! He sings better than half of the remaining contestants and certainly is the most entertaining to watch! Few would dispute that.
This competition is becoming unfair. First, vote for the worst is going strong (hence, Kevin and Kellie) and now Chris is blatantly being promoted more and favored by Simon and AI producers. What next?

I was really shocked last night, that Ace was in the bottom 3, and Kevin wasn't. And I'm disgusted that I can never cast my vote, but yet I'm hearing other people can vote more than once for their favorite, It really isn't fair. NOT FAIR AT ALL.
