Oh, Oprah, you are still the Woman! Martha, well, your 15 minutes of fame are over,
sister.
According to the latest installment of Forbes magazine's list of the world's billionaires, Ms. Winfrey is one of only 78 women whose net worth is a billion dollars or more. In fact, after netting an additional $100 million dollars last year she is now worth $1.4 billion dollars and ranks number 562 on the list.
On the other hand, Martha Stewart has dropped completely off of the list after entering last year with a paltry $1 billion. Since her release from prison last year Ms. Stewart's net worth has dropped to an even more minuscule sum of $500 million. Meanwhile, Martha's arch-nemesis, Donald Trump, remains a successful billionaire with the hefty sum of $2.6 billion dollars.
The moral of this story, of course, is that crime does not pay!

I like how it's written that Martha's networth has dropped to a "mere" $500 million. I'll take that number any day of the week and twice on Sundays!!!!

Go Martha! Both women, Oprah and Martha, have been an inspiration for me. Even with Martha's problems she has "gotten back on the horse" so to speak. Watching Donald Trump makes me ill.

Martha lost me too, she is boring and phony!
I watched her show "Martha" in the mornings for a while when it first came back and was revamp. She oftens forgets guests names and stuff she is supposed to be saying. You can tell she doesn't watch most movies or TV shows because she'd go to reference them and have no idea what she was talking about!

I don't care how much Martha and Oprah make, its a free country and I think they have the ambition to make it, so why should we begrudge them what they have. I know I would love to be smart enough to make that kind of money. So I say more power to them. Go Girls!

I commend both women. They were not born of wealth, but had to work very hard to achieve their success. That is a very good message to send out to young people today. If you want anything in life worth having you have to work your butt off and remain focused on your goals. Again I am very proud of both women. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!

Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey are a part of the charade perpetrated on the American people by corporate America. The overwhelming percentage of Americans will never have a billion dollars. However, the unlikely chance that they will have wealth lulls them into an acceptance of one person having so much wealth. A truly progressive tax system would reduce the Forbe's list by large numbers.

When news like that are published, it always remind me how the Roman Empire destroys itself after years of decadence and anarchy. Place the US and the Roman Empire side by side and compare them. You won't find many differences. Are we going toward the same results? Ask yourself, how many acts of decadence today I saw and heard. Where our kids take their values about life and mutual respect for the society? Take a quick look at how we live vs how the romans used to live and what happened to them. We won't remake history, history is just repeating itself. We are not more intelligent, just quicker to get results. What's up next for our society?

Hey, maybe the american public will wise up like I did. I used to be a big fan of both women, especially Martha Stewart. Both now have shows that are just advertisements for products they are endorsing for payment. Isn't that what commercials are for??? Too bad because they used to be women of substance!

Bill Gates seems to be the only one on the list who wisely helps the unfortunate, not by free handouts, but by providing funds to further their educational opportunities.
