I timed it -- it lasted 6.3
seconds. That's how long Ace Young and Will Makar hugged when Will got eliminated. And...I saw some eye closing on
Ace's part. Now, I'm not implying anything by The 6.3 Second Hug (that's what I've dubbed it), I
just mention it because some of you have brought Ace's sexuality into question. Now, an extended hug (with
eye closing) does not imply homosexuality, but it does give us more material to gossip with. Personally, I
don't care whether he's straight or gay in the real world... because in my fantasies, he's a straight man who
loves to give lady bloggers intimate backrubs by candlelight. Ahhhhhh.
But you're right, Bob, I thought Bo sounded like crap too. His throat was all scratchy like he needed some herbal tea or something. Or...maybe a closed eye hug from Ace. Who knows?
Kinnik and Will were no surprise, but I was absolutely shocked by Ayla and Gedeon going home. I don't care about either one of them, but how did Kevin make it to the big stage and not them? It's an American tragedy. I'm somewhat speechless...psych! I'm still thinking about that backrub from Ace.
But, I'm (moderately) happy with the Final 12. What about you?

I really think that Kevin should have been one of the guys going home. Giddon was so much better than Kevin. you know he is (Kevin ) isn:t going to make it very far after this, unless all the old people are going to vote for him!!!1

I was shocked that Kevin made it to the top 12 when in fact it was Gideon who was the best singer between them. American Idol fans please vote for the best performer, best stage presence and most of all the best personality. Please do not vote simply just for a favorite. Make sure they can really sing!

I think it really helped Kevin that he was in the bottom three last week. The fans that he does have must have rallied hard to keep him around.

Wow. I shouted out loud with complete and utter shock when Ryan tells Kevin he was going to be one of the top twelve. He was clearly surprised, also. And then it was a toss-up with Bucky and Gedeon left standing. It really could have been either one, but I was glad it was Bucky that made it through.
The same goes with Melissa getting in. I would have bet money that she was gone.
And Lacy...you really don't take your eyes off of Ace do you? Timing his hugs??

Gideon should've been part of the top 12!!! I found myself quite choked up after A.I. revealed the fact that Gideon had one of the lowest votes. Please Gideon if you should read this.........when you make your own album, I will buy it. You are awesome! One of the best singers I've heard in a very long, long, time. America blew it!

I too was in shock that Kevin made it through. Gideon defintely has a better voice. Kevin seemed to be shocked that he made it as well. This will probably just add to the cockiness that he seems to have obtained. Although I'm not really a big fan, I think Chris will probably be the one to beat. I think Mandisa and Taylor have the best voices, and I can't help but love Kelly!

I think it's a damn shame that Kevin is still in this competition and Gedeon was sent home. I don't know what these fans are thinking. This is a serious competition and he does not belong in the top12. I was truly disappointed in American Idol. But we leave it up to fans to decide someone's future. Hey who knows, these fans might just be crazy enough to make him (Kevin) the next American Idol.

This is supposed to be a competition to find the best singer and overall performer, so what planet do the voters live on that has them giving more votes to 'Chicken Little' than Gedeon. OK, so maybe Gedeon hasn't got the best voice in the competition, (though his performance Wednesday was his best yet, and most impressive), but compared side by side with Kevin "Chicken Little"? Get real!

I was kind of surprised Kevin made it last night, all of us here at home thought this was Chicken Littles last night, lol, and of course my favorite and who in my opinion has the best voice and stage presence is Mandisa, with the remarks Simon made to her and her being the lady she was, I hope she is the one to win, we need people like her to make an impression on young people. Oh by the way? I'm sooooo glad Brenna is gone!!!! whoo hoo!!! We didn't need someone like her making that awful impression on our young people! Ok I am now stepping off my soap box!lol Go Mandisa!!!!

I agree about Bo not sounding good last night I also think the song itself is not that great.
As far as Gideon goes, not so sure I care every time I saw him he remnded me of David Allen Grier doing a parody on In Living Color. I felt bad for Ayla because I do think that she is talented, and beautiful and I know that every body loves Kelley but I think that it should have been her instead of Ayla going home. I think that Kelley is sweet and cute and funny Ayla sings better.Finaly 12? How about final 4 with Chris, Elliot, Mandisa and Katherine, No that's a competition!

Well I agree with everything (as per usual with the AI posts), except for... Ace. Doesn't anyone think that Chris is way hotter? If I could exchange bodies (and/or voices) with any of the top 12, it would definately be Chris. Call it envy if you must, but I don't think Ace is attractive.

I agree that Gideon is a good singer- BUCKY should habe been the one to go! He is so average (and that moustache - but I digress). Kevin really has a nice "pure" voice and a lot of guts. Gideon is a good singer but not unsual. Simon talks about the "it factor" and in some weird way Kevin has some of "it" (maybe he got "it" on eBay LOL).

Wow, what was America thinking??? Gideon should have without a doubt been a part of the final 12. His performance each time has been flawless. America should vote on talent and STOP giving out sympathy votes and we all know who got the most of them (Chicken Little). I hope Gideon comes back as a WILD CARD this year.... Remember, that's how Clay Aiken got a second chance!

Bucky should have gone. Kevin does have a great pure voice. Whether you like his song choices- thats a different story. Gideon did better this week than last, but I agree his voice is not great. Kellie needs to go she is adorable- but you need to have a great voice- Ayla has shown to be much better. My final 4- Mandasia (can we say aMANzing) Taylor (initially I thought he had tourets, but he really can sing) Catherine (can sing and looks like Zeta Jones) and Chris (got the voice and truly seems like a nice guy- don't get to big for your supportive wife and kids) All in all, it is amazing to get to the final 12

Yup, I agree with it all. Laci, as annoyed as you are with Kevin, think of it this way -- the audience is helping a kid who is probably picked on in school to achieve a much needed ego boost. He will never be treated the same again. As Martha would say, it's a good thing! With that said, don't worry -- he won't last. Final four pick -- if they choose the right songs for the remainder of the competition -- Chris, Taylor, Elliot, and Mandisa. I think you will see the women exiting faster than the men. Lisa and Paris are good but need a few more years of training -- vocally, song choices, stage presence. As much as I like all 4 of my final picks, I believe if he picks the correct songs to showcase his talent, Chris will be the winner. I am still waiting for someone to comment on the verbal homophobic fencing going on between Simon and Ryan. I get that they REALLY don't like each other. It is the main reason I keep watching! I keep hoping we will see a good old fashioned brawl.....

I really think that Will should definitely still be on the show. If kevin is still on the show then so should Will he is way better than him. I think that is a lot of crap and american idol needs a better system of voting people off

Well the mockery continues....whether the fans kept Kevin, or the AI producers were not ready to get rid of their scapegoat for their lame "chicken little" jokes...but we're subjected to this farce for a few more weeks I guess. I've not voted since AI robbed Clay of his title, so I suppose if it WERE the actual votes that kept Kevin around, I can't bitch since I've not picked up the phone to dial anyones number.
As far as Ayla...again its such a shame, cause she was great with a fab voice, but I think she either didn't have the fan base, or producers just felt she was expendable because she has a successful basketball career awaiting her at home. She was far from the sympathy vote that America and the producers LOVE to exploit....
Bo really was bad tonight...I like the song and even have it on my ipod, but his performance would have had him eliminated this week for sure.
This is my prediction for Top 5:
Chris
Taylor
Mandisa
Kelly
Paris
