Chloe wins! Chloe? Chloe. I didn't really want Chloe to win.
I really liked her stuff in the beginning, but I absolutely hated her collection for Fashion Week. I know the judges
kept saying how much she "knows women" and understands a "woman's body", but my body doesn't
look like a couch. I'm not a La-Z-Boy recliner and no way would I want to be covered with half of that
dreadful stuff she used. Everything was so heavy and overdone. I know that fashion shows are supposed to be about
drama and "the show", but I found her stuff borderline laughable. It looked like the
1980s barfed all over her collection. And I thought her 13th outfit was stupid, especially those pockets that
Diana slaved over. I just have so many mixed feelings about Chloe winning because while I like her, I
don't love her.
And Santino...
Let's be honest, he is the real winner of this season. He's the one whom everyone will remember. Not Chloe. I actually really liked Santino's collection. It was simple, but sexy. I adored his fabrics. Everything just looked in place. I did not see the "boob situation" that Heidi saw. I think the problem is that none of those models had boobs. I think that there were places for boobs, but no boobs to fill them in. Santino needed boobs.
Santino did go really conservative for Fashion Week. I think that's the fault of the judges. Every week, they beat him down with how ridiculously theatrical his designs were. So, I can't blame him for suddenly going all soft and pretty. But not everything was soft and pretty. I must say, his shout-up speech to his mom was pretty lame. "Yo, my mom is the shit!...and here are a bunch of super pretty dresses." He should have added that at the end. I just wish that at one point in my life, I can give a profanity-laden shout out to my mom in front of a roomful of strangers. I'm sure that would make her proud.
Daniel V.'s collection was boring, boring, boring. Too many separates and not enough dresses. And that last dress was just plain hideous. I wanted to rip that patch thing off too, Michael Kors. But, as a whole, his collection was very wearable, and the guy is very likable. I secretly wanted him to win. (Psych...I was rooting for Santino the whole time.) But I think this kid has a great future in front of him. I'm glad to see that Michael Kors hinted at a possible job position. I think that would work out brilliantly. I agree with the judges in thinking that his 13th piece was the best piece of his collection. Maybe he and Nick should become a designing duo. And I'll admit it...I dug the handbags. I know a lot of you (and Tim) thought they looked very craft fair, but I dug 'em. I'd rock them around town.

I was honestly disappointed in all three collections this season. I saw Kara's online and I thought hers was actually the most fun and probably my favorite.
Chloe: I wanted her to win from the beginning. I saw the overall theme in her collection. Granted, it's not something a lot of women would wear. But she's all about couture, which is what I saw tonight. Some people may complain about the overuse of some of the fabrics, but I see it as making the collection cohesive. If you've ever seen runway shows for other designers, they also like to use the same fabric/print more than once. You don't have to have 12 completely different fabric/color/print choices, so long as you have a good amount of variation.
Daniel V: Mature? Yes. Boring? Oh my, yes. I, too agreed about the patch. I wanted to rip it off Rebecca and stomp on it. And it had a damn tassel nonetheless! He's got a bright future ahead of him. He's basically got a job lined up for him, so it's all good. Why didn't the judges say anything about Rebecca tripping on the dress? The bags? Yikes! I can see why women would like them though. They can use the handles to knock out any attackers. What really irked me about Daniel by the end of this season is how cocky he got. He won 5 challenges. Great. Good for him. But that doesn't make him "America's Next Great Designer" automatically. Jay never won any challenges last season and look where that landed him?
Santino: I liked his collection, but it was kind of safe. I sort of missed the Santino we saw on the show. There was a way to bring out PR Santino without being too PR Santino. I think being under the time constraints on the show forced him to be so wild in his designs. But given enough time, he can actually produce beautiful designs fit for the runway.

Chloe wins? Oh Please! Her collection was horrible. I was wondering whether a time portal had suddenly opened up and I was watching an eighties runway show. The fabrics were too heavy, too shiny and the sleeves looked like they were inspired by "valley girl" puffed-out prom dresses.
I really wanted Santino to win, but I have to admit that Daniel V's collection was my favorite of the three. I liked his clean lines - I loved the purses - and yes, I even liked the dreaded "patch" on that one dress! However, yes, it did have a few designs that were definitely on the safe and bland side.
Santino! I did notice that something was a bit "off" in the fit of his dresses. He shouldn't have toned himself down!

I firmly believe that Chloe had the best collection. Initially, I thought Chloe was going to win the finale; however, others had persuaded me via their posts on TVSquad that Santino might actually win and, then I thought this is highly likely!
All 3 are clearly talented designers, but I think Chloe had the best collection.
What's funny is that she got agitated with Diane, so at least, Diane didn't mess anything up and Chloe won' despite her frustation with Diane.
Incidentally, look out because "Project Runway 3" is coming at ya!

Know what I love about TVSquad? The spoiler warnings! Especially when "Chloe Wins!" is right at immediate viewing level, and there's NO WAY to avoid seeing it.
Thanks!

Bravo, Lacy. First, you pissed off a lot of people (myself included) with your awesome ANTM spoilers, and you continue your dubious tradition with another of my favorite shows, Project Runway. Man, it's great when one bad blogger ruins an entire site's reputation.
Well done!

I HATED Chloe's collection. Living and being from Houston myself I can't imagine what's in her head. I wanted Santino to win this one.

Santino's collection was his best work of the season and it was rewared with a slap in the face by saying it wasn't him. I love chloe the whole time till she presented. I only thought half of her dresses looked wearable and sexy, and I was pulling for her. I did notice the bad boobs on one of Santinos tops though. But I think it was exagerated by the fact the model had none at all.

I am so glad to see the comments about Chloe's show. I seriously thought it looked like an entire line of bad 80's prom dresses. And those little weird jacket things, what the heck was that? I liked Chloe and thought she had some good things over the course of the season, but......ew.
I have to say, I loved Daniel's line. I thought it was beautiful and classic ala Jackie O. I didn't get any of his references to the military or the Far East either, and the patch thingy was awful, but on the whole I thought his clothes were beautiful. He was really the designer who understood women best.
I hated Santino all season long, didn't like ANY of his clothes and well, don't get me started......I had to laugh at that one scene where he said he "hated the sound" of the girl's voice. By the end of the season I wanted him to run away and join Sha Na Na! (Is anybody out there old enough to remember Sha Na Na??)I did enjoy the scenes where he imitated Johnathan. That was hysterical!

Santino is a Big 'BOOTY'(you know what I mean) but his collection was the best. The judges suddenly wanted him to take chances after beating down his ideas all season long. Well if my stuff was hated all season long by the judges I would go conseervative to win also. GOODNESS! Micheal and that other female Judge (what's her name)I believe never intended to choose Santino. He pissed them off all season because he was too frickin outspoken. Oh and that is JUST what happened with Wendy last season. She had never a serious chance at winning. Santino, )although I do think he had the goods to win)and Wendy were hated by the judges and made the top 3 for the ratings.

Sweet zombie Jesus, people, the show already aired! I hope you're planning on avoiding the internet, newspapers, and television today so you don't get spoiled.
CNN says Chloe plans on staying in Houston--who didn't see that coming? Why not award the money and the internship to someone who might actually use it? (Granted, I wanted Santino to win, and I don't want him interning at Banana Republic or wherever. I have no affection for Daniel V., but the internship seems like something that might be useful for a guy who, despite his success, seems to have trouble developing his own voice.) Even though she protested that she did have the drive to be a big designer, I never got the impression that she really sees herself moving much beyond her Houston boutique. I have no argument with that, but, like, what's the point of winning? More importantly, I guess, I am not crazy about her collection. Maybe if I were a member of the cast of "Designing Women," I'd feel differently. The stuff she's done for the show has been all right, but she's done a few things that I really didn't like (the blue dress with the black pockets; her Nicky Hilton dress).
Obviously, I was really hoping Santino would win...

"...and there's NO WAY to avoid seeing it."
Well, you COULD refrain from going to sites that are dedicated to discussing shows until you've actually WATCHED the show, but I guess that's too complex a concept.
Lacy's excellent summary was posted hours after the show aired. Greg and Rico's complaints about "spoilers" were posted the morning after the show.
There were no spoilers. It's sort of unreasonable to expect TVSquad to refrain from commenting on shows until you get a chance to watch them on TIVO next weekend.

An eccentric appearance, an initimidating presence, a foul mouth and the ability to mimic do not necessarily a talented designer make. I think entirely too many people wanted Santino to win for the wrong reasons. His lack of a taste level showed throughout the season, from chicken suit to ridiculous lingerie, to the falling-apart-at-the-seams jumpsuit, and the final topper was his use of an expletive to try to prove his street cred at his poor, undoubtedly embarassed, mother's expense, in front of all of NY Fashion Week. Santino, please go away. Or must we look forward to this assinine man milking his 15 minutes forever?

My friends and I were so in agreement with you, Lacy. Chloe's collection was just ugly--my female friends and I agreed that we'd never want those things on *our* bodies. The judges also complained about Santino's fit, but we noticed fit as more of a problem with Daniel. Daniel's collection was a little boring, but I think it was more wearable than Chloe's and it was at least true to his aesthetic. Safe or not, however, Santino had the best collection out there, and should have won. Or at least Daniel should have won. However, Santino will have no problems making it now, and Daniel looks like he could work with Kors, so maybe Chloe will benefit the most from the win.

Thumper, according to Tim Gunn''s podcast, there was a lot going on with Santino and his mom, and he hadn't seen her in four years, so I think doing that meant a lot to him--as cheesy as it was.
