Until tonight, the regular visits every season from past
AI winners have been a good thing. The singers make a triumphant return to the stage where they got their
start, and do a good job singing their latest (or future) single. And now we come to Bo Bice. Ahem.
Was he sick or something? He sounded terrible. It was like a performance where viewers finally vote you off. If they had asked the judges what they thought of Bice's performance ("The Real Thing"), I think Simon would have been honest and said "I don't see how you made it so far, based on that performance," or "you were really off tonight," and probably even "you shouted that song tonight. It was your worst performance ever," which is exactly what I thought. Ugh, it just wasn't good. (Randy would have said something that included a couple "dawgs," and Paula would have just mumbled something about it being good and then would have knocked over her Coke cup).
And poor Peter Brady got voted off! I thought he'd at least make it far enough for his voice to start changing.

When he was talking at the beginning my blog got a sudden surge of traffic for "bo bice baby" and "bo bice married" queries. Glad to see him back on television :)!
Even my wife was like, "He's married?" Show I brought up his wedding license to show her.

Hon, I don't know what show you were watching, but it wasn't the one featuring Bo Bice. Bo was smoking hot on AI tonight! He looked gorgeous and tore the place up with his performance of The Real Thing. The man is a star!

I loved this version of his song. He sang it with passion and conviction. Plus he looked hot. Bo was fighting a cold for your information. Next time you might wanna know your facts before you say anything.

I don't know what you were watching but that's the most excitement that stage has seen all season! Bo was beyond hot!

I'm also not sure we watched the same show. Bo was amazingly hot tonight. He is the consummate performer. His voice sounded raw and real and rock. He took over that stage! Just awesome.
Maybe it's more fun to write something controversial, but I'm happy tonight. That was an incredible performance. Keep your "perfect vocals" and give me someone who puts it out there 150% and does it whether he's under the weather or not. He sounded great to me.

The posters must be smoking some crack. Bo sings worse than Kelly Pickler.
First of all, who wrote that song? That's the single? I always though Bo was more "Black Crowes" than "Bryan Adams". Of course he sang it horribly, to quote Simon to Ayla "It’s the song, not you".
That performance just shows the big shortcoming of the AI system. Bands that rise to the top naturally often do so on ability and creative talent. They write their own music & it is on the strength of their creative ability that they succeed. When that process is compressed into a 1-season TV show, the right music does not necessarily shine through.
But really, Bo just stunk. Just really really aweful. Both my wife and I were big fans of his last season, but this… wow… we just cringed.

Bo did not give a horrible performance. Bo gave his usual high enery performance tonight: hair flying, mic stand flying, etc. And, yes, he has a cold.
I suggest you replay the performance like I did and you will upgrade your critique a notch.

He sucked. Big time.
It's too bad Simon didn't have a chance to say so. Randy probably would have agreed.

I think Bo was having an off night. I know he ws not singing that song like it was on the cd. But, I did not think it totally sucked either. And that kid that got voted off......does anyone else think he looks like Fred Savage?? I think of Fred more than Peter Brady.

I was a big Bo fan when he was on AI. Glad that he won. But last night he wasn:t at his best. I didn:t know that he had a cold, that could have been part of the problem. From the performace last night I would never have bought his CD

I agree with Brian's post above that it was probably the song and not Bo because I saw the video for the single on MTV the other day and thought it sucked then too. He should really have released a song that was more rock because that was what everyone loved about him last season.

Bo did a great job. I am a huge fan of his from last season & I do own his CD. Yes, the song sounds better on his CD. Give the man a break he has been through a lot & had to have surgery, got married & still came out & gave a better performance than 1/2 of this years contestants could ever hope to do. He has been sick for awhile. To all the critics out there,do you think you could do better? If so audition next year & we will vote & let you know! How the crap little "Starry starry night" dude Kevin made it to the top 12 is still got me reeling! America got it wrong again, as usual!!

My only comment to my husband about Bo's performance was....I sure won't be buying that CD!! And swinging the microphone stand around was really annoying. Also, about Kevin. Is America deaf or what?? I was blown away when he was not sent home.

I know what happened..the music he was hearing in his ear (ear piece)was a couple beats off what was playing on TV and live on the set. That has to be it. Bo was off by two beats. I felt so bad for him because if you listen to his CD, that song sounds fantastic!! I still love him, but that wasn't a great advertisement for his abilities to sing!

Bo could never sound "horrible" He was sick. Check your facts beofore posting such junk
He almost died 6 months ago and I am very grateful he is able to be up on any stage. He was sick but he is a professional and the show must go on. He is the ultimate star and if anyone decides not to give his CD a try based on one performance then that is their personal problem.
If you knew anything about Bo you would know he is under contract and had no say so abut the songs on the CD or his first release. God knows he tried and his next CD will be awsome as well.
Bo is a very humble caring man

Bo was DYNAMITE last nite on AI! This guy is a stunning performer who worked the stage brilliantly! He sang with gripping raw passion and united powerfully with the audience. Yeah, Pop is a new sound for Bo, but he works it great! I have his debut album and it is brilliantly crafted to perfection! I highly recommend you all go out and get the Cd/DVD version. You'll get some of his own southern rock on this one! I am convinced that Clive Davis knows what he is doing in managed Bo's career...getting him to connect with a younger audience. The Real Thing video was voted to #1 on MTV TRL just this last Tuesday! I hear that Bo will have free reign with his next CD so watch for this treat you vintage rock 'n rollers!
