I always have mixed feelings about the Top Model
premiere. While I always look forward to a new season of Top Model, the premiere feels too long. Two hours? I
think that if they wanted to trim the fat a bit, they could seriously get it down to a hour and a half...at least. In
fact, they should just get rid of that first hour all together. I don't care about the girls who get cut before making
it to the house. I always think I care about them, but as soon as they are cut, I forget they exist.
Speaking of the house...
Holy stolen granola bars, they really went all out this year! I found the house absolutely spectacular. That atrium was gorgeous, and I loved the model-themed rooms. Although, I would feel like a total jackass if I got put in the general Top Model room. It just feels unlucky. And I think that the girls who picked the Christie Brinkley room are soon going to realize that it's hard to fall asleep with the soft blue glow of a 300-gallon fish tank right next to you. I see under eye bags in the future of those girls. And let's be honest, the house is more beautiful than any of the girls.
Well, I take that back. Nnenna? Is it even fair that she's in this competition? She is, without a doubt, an early favorite. But that could be a bad thing. At this point, she has a bullseye on her back and everyone is just waiting for her to screw up. One slightly sub par photo-shoot and I can already see Tyra putting her in the bottom two just to "make a point" that no one is safe. But, you do have to love her. Did you hear her backstory? At points, it made me want to cry, and at other times, it made me angry. But she didn't cry. Not a tear. I couldn't believe her strength. You can tell that she's a person who just focuses on what's in front of her. She doesn't feel sorry for herself. My only fear is that she has a lot of pain built inside of her and that at one point, it might all come out. If it does, hopefully it will be at a funeral-themed photo-shoot like the one Kahlen endured in Cycle 4. That way, she can use it to her advantage.
Let's gossip about the other troublemakers. Jade. This girl has the spunk of Lisa, but without the humor. The confidence of Janice, but without the self-humiliation. She's a bitch, but minus the fun. And an un-fun bitch is no bitch I want to be around. She is obviously a bully, and I don't like her. Luckily, she didn't take a very good picture last night, so she might not be around too long. The judges don't seem to care for her too much.
Gina is the other girl that really stuck out for me. She needs to get it together. She might be the first non-lovable airhead ever. She loves being Korean. She hates it. She hates Asian men. Oh, wait...Tyra didn't like that answer. Okay, she now loves Asian men. She needs to figure herself out. You know what, I actually don't care if she never figures herself out. I just want her to stop changing her opinion mid-sentence. It's really annoying. And why was she slamming that champagne? If you're going to stumble out of a restaurant drunk, at least take off your heels. It makes it a lot easier to drunkenly get into a cab.
As far as the
photo-shoot, I loved it. I was so happy that they actually made them bald up top instead of down South
like some predicted. It takes a lot of guts to go bald because all your flaws are revealed. Hell, I won't
even tuck my hair behind my ears sometimes cause it makes me feel ugly. Tyra looked pretty good bald, but not
beautiful. She does have a flawless face, but she looks a musical number away from adopting a
redheaded orphan named Annie. Which makes me wonder -- does she do a test photo first before she decides on that
photo-shoot? Cause if she looked ugly bald, I don't think this photo-shoot would have existed.
But, oh man, some of those girls looked freaky as hell bald. (Furonda is an alien.) But then some of them looked gorgeous and that sorta pissed me off. You have to be hella pretty to pull off bald. I'm just happy that I now know what it would look like to see Denise Richards bald. Of course, Nnenna looked the best. But I thought that Wendy's was the worst. I know that she's from New Orleans and she has "sadness" in her eyes. But I thought it just looked like bad modeling. Bad bald modeling. She looked most like a mannequin to me. And I think it's sorta lame that Tyra keeps bringing up the point that Wendy isn't there "out of pity." It actually didn't cross my mind until Tyra brought it up 8,000 times, but now...I'm suspicious.
Next week, is my favorite show of the season -- the makeover show! Let the waterworks begin!

I think this indivdual hall who wrote this information about america's top model is an idiot. Also jealous of the show and wish she was Trya Banks. First of all she contradicted herself when she stated Tyra banks looks pretty good bald but not beautiful then she stated Tyra does have a flawless face. Flawless and beautiful is the same thing to me. And you notice she made comments more about the minority women.

1) I'm not jealous of the show...I WRITE about the show. It's my job. I'm a television blogger. Maybe you should understand the concept of blogging before you come onto a website and accuse people of being an "idiot."
2) Looking beautiful is different than being flawless. And most people would agree. I feel sorry for you if you think being beautiful means being flawless.
3) I DID comment mostly on the minority women, because they are the ones who stood out. Should I focus my attention more on white people? I'm confused about your complaints.

First, Lacy I loved your blog...FUN! :-) This isn't life and death, it's supposedly picking ANTM, and they haven't done such a great job in my opinion, starting with picking whateverhernameis the first time...she can't even talk!?! (Was it Adrien?? She sounded like Sylvester Stallone calling that in Rocky)
Lumarie: VH1 has it, but I'm pretty sure it's after it ends on UPN, or next season even...that's where we watch it, we don't get UPN either.

I'll start by saying I used to model. Just a local model...mostly in the Columbus, Ohio area...so I do have some working knowledge. LOL
My take from just the pictures on the site, not the videos (I didn't want to waste my time that much) is that these four should be the final four...in alphabetical order: Jade, Leslie, Mollie Sue, and Nnenna.
Best pictures for the bald shoot: Danielle, Jade, Joanie, and Mollie
And the next 2 out should probably be Kari and Brooke.
Can anyone answer me what the deal is this time with the white girls with the huge lips and crying eyes? It makes me want to give them something to cry about. ;-) Okay, this post probably makes me sound horrible, but really I'm more the Miss Congeniality type.

This can't be right.. I need Tyra to shed her oh so modelesque wisdom upon me! I wanted to absolutely scream last night when Tyra pulled out Jade's pic. I was like Mollie Sue completely confused. I mean, come on, Jade made a complete idiot of herself the whole entire episode. She doesn't even understand how to ask a question, i.e. Wild Out w/Nick Cannon. When Furonda was talking to her this 26yr old woman doesn't even know the work facade! OH MY GOODNESS!! My fave girl since Day 1 & currently is Danielle. She is the realest & seems to be the most focused, and is doing wonderfully w/out all the cattiness & backstabbing. And she's taking some wonderful pics. I must agree w/Tyra though, she must lose that accent.

Is Jade in cycle 6 already a professional model. I believe I saw her in the Trumpet newsmagazine (December 2005 issue). Check it out on page 63 the girl is modeling a wedding dress!!! Well last night we bid farewell to Leslie.. I don't know, but she didn't stand out to me in any way. And I see that everyone's greatest enemy has shifted. It was Jade it now seems to be Nnennah. The way she taunts Brooke is just ignorant. To figure out someone's weakness & use it against them to undermine their confidence is showing that you have your own insecurities to deal with. I'm pretty tired of hearing Nnennah's boyfriend sob week after week. I just wanna find him & tell him to get a backbone. But the most wonderful thing to come out of last night's episode was the humbling of Ms. Jade. Was she a whole different person or what? Being in the bottom few more than 1 time has its way of shutting her up huh? I think Nnenneh has gotten too much praise from the judges & during all of their challenges that it's all gone to her head. There's never an excuse to be just downright nasty & mean. Don't they watch cartoons? The villian always loses!! :)

I'm a black woman & although I admire tyra & what's she's done by breaking through so many barriers, she's not my role model or what a black woman should be. That's absolutely ridiculous. There are plenty of talented, educated & beautiful woman in the world to choose from. For a lot of black women, a role model is as close as our mothers. But saying that tyra is the image of a black woman is crazy. Is Cheryl Tiegs, Bo Derek or Christie Brinkley your only images of white women? I just couldn't let that statement pass by w/out some comment.

I mean Tyra involves herself in the community and gives good advise when you see her dealing with people who look up to her, altough i'm sure those kids are not judging Tyra by who she makes sit on some ice! This is a good show stop taking the fun out of it!!

I was like oh yeah!! i have a question though, what does everybody think about danielle's choice to not lose the gap the 1st go round? i was torn w/that decision too, i agree w/tyra i thought she should've lost it, just like the accent. but then again i think each model should keep a little of themselves as not to forget how they struggled to get where ever it is they go. could we maybe put her gap in the same category as cindy crawford's mole? maybe maybe not? well we're getting closer, so i know who i have my fingers crossed for, who do you wanna see win?

Oh my goodness!! I was so stunned by last weeks outcome it took me a couple days of meditation to get back on my feet!! Now I know I said that Nenna was all funny acting, but just like her I pretty much thought she was at least going to be 1 of the final 2.. GUESS NOT!!! I think that shocked everybody, that ole' funny looking Furonda keeps sliding past, esp. over Nenna. I'm glad to see that the show is still keeping us guessing. And how about the previews for the next episode? Is Danielle sick? Everytime I tried to really look @ the screen, I couldn't tell if it's Danielle or Furonda.. If it is Danielle, dang, 1st her toes from those scary shoes, now some foreign illness.

Steff I don't mean to offend you but you sound like one of those "Wisteria Lane moms", always trying to blame other people for your concious mistakes as a parent! Kids will learn regardless, wether its from some model chick or the roadrunner kicking the coyotes ass! In a realness and this is for my girl Sandee since we are the only 2 pretty much on this, I LOVE JADE! I mean again I will say she is a bitch but give her a break she has been trying to do the damn thing for probably over a dacade now, she is so strong and ready to hit the world that she doesnt realize that she is dumbstruck and lost. Acceptance is all she needs and I dont mean from us, I mean from herself. And I wish Tyra would stop looking at her crazy and making fuked up comments, Tyra will always be HOLLYWOOD HOP! She is cool and I love her but Tyra honey we can tell Jade does to you what Mrs Campbell and Iman do , INTIMIDATE YOU ! Tyra sees how banging Jade is and it pisses her off to see someone not even famous be a bitch about it! Dont get me wrong I love Joni & Danielle so at this point I will be happy with any winner (which is more than i can say from other season) But let's admit it (everyone especially Sandee) LOL Jade is the perfect supermodel she is a gorgeous chick with banging features!
