Still Standing and Yes, Dear are (probably) canceled

Still
Standing and Yes, Dear (aka two of The Five: Shows that give
lazy overweight men hope) won't return for another season. The cancelation of Yes, Dear comes as no
surprise, as CBS only ordered half a season and star Anthony Clark recently announced that he'll
be the new host of the next edition of NBC's Last Comic Standing (Yeah! No Jay Mohr!). It lasted six seasons
and is already in syndication. The fourth and, most likely, final season of Still Standing comes to an end tonight in two half-hour episodes on CBS, according to USA Today. While CBS hasn't officially canceled the sitcom, which was the 93rd-ranked show this season, the producers and writers had no illusions that they probably wouldn't return, so they handled the season finale as if it were the final episode for the series. Since the show lasted four seasons, with 88 episodes, it qualifies for syndication.

Actually, I'd take either of these over the trainwreck that is the King of Queens.

I've said this before: Still Standing is one of the more underrated, underappreciated sitcoms of all-time.

I echo Bob's comments ... I came late to the show, only wathcing it the past 2 seasons, but I found it far superior to the other sitcoms it got lumped in with ... Yes Dear, According to Jim, King of Queens, etc. The actors were all top notch -- esspecially the supporting actors, the kids, the sister, etc. -- and the writing was consistent and clever ... the premise never changed, the jokes were all along the same vein, but it never seemd tired or rehashed.

Neither of these was too bad, there's just better stuff to fill up my DVR with.

I haven't seen new episodes of "Yes, Dear" in like 2 years, but I never hated the show. I always liked how it was a "family" sitcom, but the parenting they did was so awful it was funny. Plus I thought the characters (except for Kim) were pretty funny.

I love Yes, Dear!!! I hate that it's been cancelled. It's been shoved around for the last couple years so I knew it was coming, but felt CBS wasn't giving it a chance. Like putting it on Monday after 2 1/2 Men. Now I see on the cancellation list According To Jim. Are we not allowed to have any funny sitcoms to watch anymore??

I only started watching Yes,Dear recently on TBS. I then searched on the internet and found that new episodes were airing on CBS. I got to watch two new episodes and now it is ending. I love this show. Since I have gotten into it I feel it is one of the funniest show I have ever watched. I wish that CBS would keep it on. I never watch CBS but was watching this show. PLEASE LEAVE YES, DEAR ON. It is much better than alot of other stuff that is on tv today. Much better than all those reality shows. Jimmy, Greg, Kim and all the actors work good together and the humor makes it an A++ Sitcom.
Signed Now Devoted Yes, Dear fan!

I agree with the postive words on Still Standing. This was the best sitcom I think. I'm quite surprised it was cancelled as opposed to The George Lopez Show which I don't find as entertaining as Mark and Jami's Characters. I hope CBS reconsiders and puts this show back on primetime - four seasons just isn't enough for a quality comedy such as "Still Standing" I will surely miss it :(

Still Standing ? one of the best in a long time. Really funny stuff. Sort of a prime time "Married with Children" You've got my vote to keep them on.

Add my voice to those who want to bring back Still Standing. With the lovely and talented Jami Gertz (easily one of the sexiest real women in the entertainment world) and the comical Mark Addy and excellent supporting cast, it was head and shoulders above the competition and was truly a pleasure to watch. Since its cancellation, comedy-wise, there is no longer anything worth watching on Wednesday nights, or the rest of the week for that matter. PLEASE BRING IT BACK - SOON!!!

Television is beginning to take a bad turn much like the Music Industry. They "think" drama is what's going to sell 2 years from now because it's hot now - so they throw out the comedy. I can't wait to see CBS finally fail again! After Everybody Loves Raymond finished up they tried everything to replace it and all the sudden they cancel the shows most think are funnier? Ratings CANNOT be that bad. CBS is a joke... I hated it before except for ELR, KofQ, Yes, Dear, etc but now it's back to the old CBS.
I won't be watching all that over-dramatic crap they got now. they have a CIS for every major city in America now... pathetic.

We love the show YES DEAR!!!! We can't believe that they are taking it off the air, it is the only clean, funny and family show left. We are dedicated watchers and want it to remain part of our viewing experience. We watch the reruns 4 times a day and every new episode on wednesday nights. We WANT it to stay!!!!

Keep both "Yes Dear" and "Still Standing", the women in the two series along make it worth watching. The lovely Jean Louisa Kelly (Kim Warner) make it a hot series. I think Renee Olmsted could have done more singing on the "Still Standing" series. Please CBS, purchase another full season of both beloved shows.
