I'm curious about who out there actually participates
in the vote. Or, do you just sit back to watch the performances and wait to see who gets booted? During the first
season of American Idol, I was a passive viewer. I didn't vote once. Not even for Kelly Clarkson in the
finale. During the second season, however, I voted for Clay Aiken like a mad woman. Season 3 didn't really turn my
crank but I did vote regularly during Season 4 for both Carrie and Bo.This season? So far, there's no one who's inspired me to pick up the phone and dial.
Do you call (or text) your vote for American Idol? Why? Who are you voting for this season?

I am not an active voter, but not one to sit back and not take action either. Some seasons I voted, others I did not. This season I am voting now because I want the final 12 to be the correct final 12 and not have some one like Breanna end up in there giving her an even bigger ego. I voted for Melissa McGhee this week because last week I didn't due to tivoing the show and finding out that she didn't get air time. I don't want the editors of the show to dictate who should be in the top 12 so I decided she gets my vote each week until the final 12.

I work for a cable/telephone company and I can tell you this much. We have the specifically set up our phone network on Idol nights to make sure emergency calls can still get through with the extra bandwidth that is taken up by calls to Idol.

I vote for my favorite American Idol. I voted last night so many times and was very surprised I got through the amount of times I did vote. If you don't feel a certain person deserves to be there then you need to vote!!

I caught the end of Season 1 and voted for Kelly. Season 2 I really got into voting for Clay (although silly me -- I thought it was actually a legitimate system -- 1 vote per phone). Season 3 I voted for Jennifer Hudson until she got voted off. Haven't voted since. No one this season has inspired me enough to pick up the phone. There are some OK singers, but no "wow" factor from anyone.

I'll vote when I am inspired to vote...which has only been one season, for Clay Aiken when he sang Bridge Over Troubled Waters.
Otherwise nope I just watch...I'm also in the corner that feels that voting means nothing...the producers choose who is going home and who is going to win.

I didn't watch much of first season but was also a voting fool Season 2 for Aiken. 3 & 4 were ok, not much inspiration for voting. Started watching season 5 and saw some potential, last night however was Boring! I only voted a couple of times for Paris. I'm hoping the guys tonight are better.

I've watched all the seasons and I NEVER vote. I won't vote unless they change the procedure and let you vote for the worst performance instead of your "favorite." I love the show, but I watch it for the entertainment value. I don't feel I should vote since I would never buy a CD from any of the winners.

I vote every season on 4 phones. Currently I am only voting on the girls I am voting on 4. This year I think it's going to be another girl. This year the girls are really good. The guys are too, and they are cute, but the talent just isn't stronger. Jose' AKA sway I think will be the controversy performer this year, and then they will bring somebody back as usual. I love Ace, Taylor and the Chris, I hope you win, (I loved your story). Gedeon he's way to cocky, but he can sing; remember what happened to Latoya London. This group has much better talent than any others, so it's hard to say who it will be. Good Luck to everyone.
Oh, and I'm glad those non singing twins are gone, you know the ones "my spirit has been broken" yes, I bet their spirits are really broken now, and well they wanted to be famous, and I guess they are. Be careful what you ask for, it just may come but not the way you expect it. Breanna you are very pretty and you can sing but your attitude makes you ugly no VOTES for you ever.

I didn't watch the first season at all. Second season I began watching on and off and was totally behind Clay Aiken but didn't vote until the last three shows. Third season I voted from the beginning for LaToya but I was so ticked off that she was booted way too early, I never voted again and never will. Following that incident, I became convinced that the producers manipulate the votes according to their agenda making voting pointless. I still watch but with detached interest and will stick to my vow to never vote again.

I voted for Fantasia during Season 3. I voted for Constantine during Season 4 until he got kicked off, then I stopped voting for the rest of that season. Then I read an article in The Independent newspaper from London which talked about Simon Fuller, the producer of American Idol, which stated that Simon was "the pop impresario whose American Idol TV competition was won this year by Carrie Underwood"; that article was published May 22, 2005, three days before the season finale! I now think the show is rigged so I will never vote again!

I have found that i am fond of a very select few this year. No big tough choices for me i feel i know who will be in the top 5 and praise them. I love Katharine Mcphee and think she will make it up to the top 3 but hey i could be wrong. I vote every time i can for her! Something about the voice/look the whole package is good for me. As far as the guys of course Ace will be in the top 3 and i really like chris also. They just need to start really performing.. i don't want to snore tonight please!

I think we vote maybe once per season, toward the end when there's only a few people left and it's become clear who we want to win. In the early days it really doesn't matter whether somebody leaves the first week or the fifth, if it's obvious that they're going. Not everybody can pull a Jerry Rice and make it all the way to the final 2.

I never watch American Idol until the finalist are chosen - I am not one of the millions who enjoy seeing people make fools of themselves. I voted for Kelly the first season, but only during the last couple shows. I was totally behind Clay the second season, and I hope I live long enough to hear American Idol admit that he really did win (the show should have given an extra night for votes to be called in because of the phone problems). I voted for Diana the third season (I could not stand Fantasia's "Yeah, Yeah" Yeah" at the end of every single song). I voted for Carrie last season - again - right at the end. I'm still waiting to see if there is anyone worth my time this year - too early to tell.

I voted for Kelly the first season, but really got into it Season 2 for Clay. Voted for him every week as much as I could. Could never get through finale nite although I tried with 2 phones. This is when I got the feeling the show was rigged. Season 3 was "AWFUL", so didn't vote. Season 4 I voted a few times for Carrie on finale night. My favorites this season are Taylor and Katherine but I am not sure I will vote til the end maybe. My heart is not into voting since Clay lost..... BUT, then again, we know Clay has come out on top.
I don't text. Not worth spending money. Too much of a judge show. It should be all about the singers.

To be perfectly honest with you I do not vote and I do not watch the entertainment. I tried to watch this show at various times like the last show, but cant seem to get through a whole show. Sorry but I dont find it entertaining or very watchable.I am sure that some of the talent is excellent but the judges are so phoney in their attempt to entertain us that it gets so boring with their remarks let alone the fact that they are not in the least qualified to judge which makes it less of a show. Even"Ted Mack's Amateur Hour" a very very early television show was more entertaining.
