Names like Regina King, Madeleine
Stowe, Christine Taylor and Jonathan Silverman should add some clout to all sorts of dramas and comedies being planned
by the networks for next fall.Here is the latest casting news from The Hollywood Reporter:
- Regina King (Ray) is in negotiations to join the ABC
drama Women in Law. Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon (Eyes) and Jill Ritchie (Herbie: Fully Loaded) have already
agreed to roles. All we know is it's about women in a law firm.
- Madeleine Stowe will play the lead in the FOX drama, Southern Comfort. It's about the wife of a Southern mobster who takes over the family business when her husband goes to jail.
- Jonathan Silverman (The Single Guy) will play one of four high school friends who reunite during a crossroads in their lives in a comedy for ABC. It's called In Case of Emergency. Jon Favreau is directing the pilot.
- Christine Taylor, who had a guest appearance on My Name is Earl this season, has been cast in 52 Fights, an ABC comedy based on a book about a couple's transition from dating to married life. Taylor will play the wife.
- Adam Baldwin (Jayne on Firefly) will plan a grizzled veteran of the police force in a Touchstone TV thriller called Day Break. The lead role is played by Taye Diggs, who will play a cop on the run after being framed for murder.
- Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister) replaces Cynthia Addai-Robinson as one of the women in the lives of professional football players. For CBS, it's called The Game.
- Shannon Lucio (The O.C.) has joined ABC's A House Divided.

That Tia Mowry pilot is for the CW, not CBS.
