Heavy hitter Ving Rhames has signed
on for a co-starring role in the untitled Aquaman drama that The CW has in the works. Rhames will play McCaffery, a
mentor to A.C., aka Aquaman. The series is a spin-off of Smallville. Originally, American Idol drop-out Alan Ritchson played A.C. on one episode of Smallville, but the new series has actor/model Will Toale in the lead role. The same team that developed Smallville is creating Aquaman. Hopefully this means we'll see it on the air as soon as this fall.

If you would have told me 20 years ago that they'd be making a live action television show based on AQUAMAN?! I would have told you you were f'ing insane. I still find this unbelievable. I mean a WHOLE SERIES on AQUAMAN?! I don't see how the writers can possibly come up with 12 episodes of story! That will be quite a feat if they can pull it off. Good luck to them!

Actually, the series' title is most likely going to be "Mercy Reef". See http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/687/687278p1.html
