I think the big event of this episode wasn't all that shocking to most of us, given what was shown in last
week's preview. One thing that did hit me as a potential cool twist was possibility that the Strike Team would find a
new home outside the Barn, and I'm not talking about jail.I have to say that I thought Vic was losing his edge quite a bit when talking with his lawyer, though thankfully the writers made up for it during the meeting with Corinne. Vic was ready to throw out some incredibly lame excuses for taking $65k for his family, though his chose to take his licks and make sure his kids are taken care of.
The interaction between the other Strike Team members is very heated now. Shane is clearly out for himself, as he
seems to even want to turn on Vic at this point. It's incredibly idiotic of them to want to talk to Kavanaugh without a
lawyer. However, dragging four different lawyers into the talks would definitely turn Kavanaugh upside-down.
So, it looks like Claudette's out of the picture for good. I'd be surprised if she survived that episode and fall.
One of the other officers even remarked about how her neck was all twisted, which spelled outright doom for the woman.
So, one down, one to go. After seeing the previews for next week, I might have to say that Vic's old CI may be the one
to go, as she fits the definition of someone who holds the key to bringing the Strike Team down. With her gone, there's
little case against Lem, I believe.
Antwon Mitchel. Next week. Is it possible something with that old
phone-cam picture will come back to haunt Aceveda afterall? It seems unlikely, but isn't that one of those storylines
that just seemed dropped on the floor and forgotten? Speaking of dropped storylines, what about Dutch and killing the
cats? Julien's I'm-not-gay story? Am I missing anything?
Quote of the episode: "Why don't you tickle
your balls on your own time."

That's all you have to say about Claudette? One of the most permanent characters is (most likely) killed off and you don't find that significant?
a) She has been one of the most stabilizing forces of the Barn for the entire series, and
b) You mentioned the cat-killing side of Dutch's personality. With rumors of the end of the show drawing nigh, don't you think Claudette's death would be the perfect thing to unhinge his slightly unstable mind? (I have to say -- the cat-killing thing was disturbing -- but I have been waiting for them to bring it up...it's just not like these writers to put something in that they don't pick up again later)
With rumors going around of this being the last season of The Shield, I was...very upset...at the conclusion of this week's episode. Surely this tragedy does not bode well for those who have come to rely upon The Shield as the only good reason for having cable?

the shield isn't one of those shows were they sweep plots under the rug *coughlostcough*. rest assure most if not all of those tales will creep back in somehow. i think the julien's i'm not gay thing was a one time gag and the killing of the cats i think had to deal with dutch becoming more like what he's after than a cop.
a solid episode even if we do know what's coming down. it was interesting to see mitchell. i was sure he was out of the picture after the one guy got killed. the previews have me exicted with kavanaugh visting him.
should be interesting

Well, I think Aceveda's phone-cam storyline was wrapped up pretty well, rather than just left hanging. I mean, he had the guy killed, there's not much more you can do with that. Unless, of course, you bring Mitchell back. In fact, I'm pretty impressed by the way they're reviving a ghost I thought had passed. Dutch and the cat (and other weird Dutch-ness) is probably going to come back full force now that his link to humanity has taken a tumble. I predict revenge-sex with the hot new cop previously seen in Harold & Kumar.

I Think Last Nights Episode Was Definetley Just A Starting Point Of The Climax Ending To This Season. It Just Keeps Me Guessing Of Whats Gonna Happen In The Last 4 Episodes.
I Truly Don't Believe That The Rest Of The Strike Team Is Gonna Bail On Vic But I Think Kavanaugh's Attempt To Convince Them That The Lawyer Is More Worried About Vic Than The Rest Of Them Is Slipping In Thier Thoughts.
Also, I Believe Towards The End Vic & The Lawyer Are Gonna Have Some Intimacy Between Them (Past Couple Of Seasons Vic Has Had Intimate Relations With Other Girls, Season 4 Officer Danny & Season 3 The Greek Girl Who's Sister Was Killed By That Druglord.
And Lastly, From What Next Weeks Preview Showed I Think Their Gonna Try To Make Kavanaugh Think That There Gonna Get Vic's CI Killed By Puttin Her Undercover Then Save Her So Then They Could Get Kavanaugh To Believe That They Don't Know That Vic's CI Is Testifying Against Lem, And Get Her Killed Or Kill Her, While Kavanaugh Has His Guard Down. Im Not Tellin Yall Thats What To Look Forward To But From A Guy Who's Been Watching The Show Since It First Started, I Believe That Would Be The Type Of Thing Vic Would Do.

And what about Tavon? :)

Tavon is just...gone. Kinda sucks, but there you are.
As for Aceveda...they don't need the phone part of things for this. It's neatly tied up, as mentioned above, and is actually irrelevant now. It no longer matters why he basically ordered Juan Lozano's death--only that he did, and that Antwon Mitchell knows, and that Jon Kavanaugh's crusade is bringing them face to face...

As long as Vice goes down, I'm satisfied.
Wasn't it typical how he worked over his attorney? How many jerks have we seen break down good women the same way to get what they want?

Didn't Dutch kind of push Claudette to keep going in the interrogation? So, I have to wonder if he might not feel some guilt about Claudette dying (if she is dead) and that might drive him over the edge and into darker territory...

Lem said "Look at her neck..." and then got all wierd and stuff. So I think she is a goner, but then again they did not even say anything in the preview about her.hmmmm? But I liked her a lot always pushin dutch to do the right stuff, good lady. During this whole show she just got sicker n sicker. We all saw it and we all knew her time was near.
This is just the beginning of the END. One more person is goin to die before/or on march 21, then the show will end with vic dead.(that makes me sad)
Did anyone see Jimmy Johnson the old cowboys coach in the holdin cell. He had the crazy fake beard and had two or three lines.

OK, in all honesty I have to admit that I left out some key things in the review above.
- As far as not saying enough about Claudette, if you've read any of my past reviews, you know I never cared for her character. Maybe she just wasn't used to her full potential until recently, but still, she wasn't a favorite.
- Yes, you're right about Dutch -- with Claudette gone, he could very likely wind up back to his weird cat-killing days.
- The phonecam thing...you're right, that part of Aceveda's story is over, as it's elevated to what Mitchell knows regarding the killing. The phonecam pic is irrelevant.
- Tavon! I did forget that loose end. I'd like to see that come back to the story somehow.

There's not much they could really do with Tavon at this point, unfortunately. Unless they wanted to go deus ex machina with him and somehow crowbar him into the Strike Team/IAD dance...

What? No mention of a scruffed up Jimmy Johnson appearing in the holding cell, yelling "Terry! Terry is the one you want!" (refering to Bradshaw) and "Hey, I'll do it...I need some money" That was helarious!

Ohh Also The Guy In The Cell Didn't Say "Hey, I'll do it...I need some money", He Offered To Give Them Money When Vic Told Aceveda He Really Needed The 25k ASAP Because He Killed A 2yr Old Girl & Her Mother.... Just Thought Id Clear That Up Before People Start Confusing The Rest Of The Story.

I kept waiting to see if the actor that played Larry Fine in the 3 Stooges biopic would pop up. This episode reunited Curly & Moe (Chiklis and the cop that wired the C4). And I think the Aceveda camera-phone picture will be the motivation behind Aceveda undermining Cavanaugh's investigation.

Did anyone catch them mention Kavanaugh was wearing a wedding ring, but he isn't married any more? I think the strike team might use that against him. Maybe he's gay?

This is EXACTLY why I NEVER watch the previews.
Ram: HA! I kept wondering where I saw that guy before and now I remember 3 Stooges movie with Chiklis. Great catch there and also I liked how you said "And I think the Aceveda camera-phone picture will be the motivation behind Aceveda undermining Cavanaugh's investigation"
Yes they "took care of" that story line but where is the phone? Is everyone sure that no one downloaded those pictures? Even without the pictures or connection with this, I think Kavanaugh has been pissing Aceveda off enough for Aceveda to go ahead and screw Kavanaugh and his IAD investigation no matter how badly he wants to see Vic in jail.
