I'm going to start this out with a simple statement: I don't
like Martha Stewart. She bugs me, her talk show freaks the hell out of me, and for whatever reason I'm also terrified
of people who have their own magazines. However, I partly understand where she's coming from regarding the recent comment war
between her and Donald Trump. The topic of course being her version of The Apprentice and how large a flop it
was. So despite my feelings toward the Kitchen Queen, I kind of feel bad for her (or at least agree with her) when
discussing how this is all playing out.Over the past few days, Martha has said a few things about the show most notably mentioning that the original plan was for her to fire Trump on-air in the premiere of her show. Obviously that never happened and since then Trump has essentially told Martha to suck it up and take responsibility. Well Martha made a good point (at least I thought so) in saying that having two Apprentices was too much at once. I think that's true, especially when you compare the two versions. Martha paled in comparison to the original, even though I didn't particularly enjoy last season's Trump version. If just Martha's version had been on, who knows?
I can't say that I blame Trump either for being so defensive. After all, he did put plenty of money into the Martha version and I believe he was an executive producer too. So he had a personal stake invested in it and we all know Trump (and Martha too, for that matter) doesn't like to lose.
I think NBC has to take some of the blame. After the horrible ratings for the first few episodes, NBC didn't really know what to do about Martha and it seemed like they just stopped caring about it. But with a show like that, they're almost required to play out the entire season. It was stupid to originally put it up against Lost and the show suffered. I still feel like NBC could have done more if they believed in the show. So there you go. I don't like Martha Stewart at all, and yesterday I kind of felt like maybe she was being a sore loser. But the more I've thought about this, the more I think she got a raw deal.
Is this making sense to anyone? Because I feel like a solid response to this entire rant might run something like this: "...yeah, but the show sucked." Which is true and maybe Martha could have changed her demeanor too but... well I don't know. I've said my part. Anyone able to further this along?

If she had given the standard, cold, abrasive Martha as depicted by Cybill Shepard as was delivered in the two melodramas then people would have eaten it up.... if not for going head-to-head with Lost.
People wanted a kinder, gentler Martha. People really wanted Martha to be more like them on some level... people were tired of her Penny Perfect ways with reports of scandalous tongue lashings for PAs. I think it disappointed quite a few when she delivered the firings in such a civilized manner and followed them with a personalized letter, well, that was just a little too civilized for the American television viewers' palatte. We want blood and we want people to be crushed; perhaps Martha and The Donald will deliver with their battle of quotes.

I am a little puzzled as to why Martha signed on to the show if she felt that two apprentices were too much. I'm sure the cash was good, but in this business you are usually only as good as your last project, so her short term gain would not outweigh the long term potential if she truely believed it would fail.
My feeling is that most people just don't like her. Whether it is deserved or not is beside the point, but in general, people want to see her fail. Sure she has her loyal fans, but they are an audience who will give her good ratings on what she does best, which is Martha Stewart Living. They don't want to see her as the "bitch", like Donald is the "bastard" who fires people.

Candidly, I liked "Martha Stewart; The Apprentice." However, I fully agree with Martha that having (2) Apprentice show was too much of "a good thing." I think Donald Trump and Martha Stewart are both successful because they're hardworkers and have genius IQs.
Whether or not Martha's show would have yielded higher ratings had her show NOT been shown when Mr. Trump's "Apprentice" was being shown is mere conjecture.
No one knows for sure; however, it's irrelevant now because "Martha Stewart; The Apprentice" has been over now for a few months.
Incindetally, I enjoy Martha Stewart's shows because her show is informative, educational, entertaining and exciting to watch! Where else can you learn how to cook, garden, and create different things all in one show?
Of those who dislike Martha Stewart, I think it's mainly because they're jealous that they are not as talented as Martha Stewart. After all, she clearly has a genius IQ, an Ivy-League education (she went to Barnard, an affiliate of Columbia in NYC), is hard-working and extremely talented--a "Renaissance Woman" if you will, who is multi-talented. I don't know of too many celebrities, or anyone else, for that matter, who is as multi-talented as Martha except Donald Trump; although, his talents seem to be more strictly in the business sphere and of real estate developing (after all, that is his business).
Bottom line: Martha Stewart is a hard-worker and despite her lackluster ratings for "Martha Stewart: The Apprentice", her show is fun to watch; although, my favorite show of hers is still her original, "Martha Stewart Living."

I just wish that Martha and Donald would "kiss and make up"! They are friends after all! They should not let TV Ratings get in the way between their precious friendship. What a waste that would be! For me, I like Donald Trump. And, I LOVE Martha Stewart. And we will all be happy if they remain friends.

personally i think both are very egotistical and both dont like to loose at anything. martha has found out you can loose at something when caught. donald hasnt had to loose at anything . he just goes to a younger version of woman or buys what he wants and doesnt get caught at anything he does under the table---that is if he does do anything under the table.

In my opinion one of the things that killed off Martha's show was that she did the right thing - her rewards were more down to earth and social in nature than the glitzy prizes offered on the original Apprentice. For example, Martha's prizes for winning teams ranged from having a casusal dinner with Martha to doing a volunteer project, while "The Donalds's" prizes ranged from exclusive dinners to exciting helicopter excursions. Obviously, the sudience wants to see the glitz. Its too bad that we cannot have both, but egos do get in the way. I am both a Trump and a Stewart fan. I wish that they would kiss and make up!

I watched both shows for the entire season, and personally I was very shocked when I first discovered that they were both airing one night after each other. I was under the impression that Donald was taking a season off, and Martha was taking his place, which would have been a MUCH better idea then having two seperate shows, competing against each other. I really enjoyed both shows this year, but I do wish that Martha would have been a little bit more dramatic, and that would have probably added a lot more viewership to the show. Also, NBC is making a lot of bad business decisions these days, and they seriously need to sit down and look at what shows they are up against. You can't compete against Lost, CSI, Desperate Housewives, etc, so don't even try to put your best shows in those same time slots, it won't work....

I liked the Martha Stewart Apprentice and hope she continues with it. I also like the Trump Apprentice. I looked forward to both and loved having the two at once. The one gives you more appetite for the other; they were fun! Keep 'em both!!

Martha Stewart always referred to Trump as her "boss" while her Apprentice was airing. It seems he was an executive producer of the show (and possibly a co-owner?) If that's the case, wasn't it incumbent upon him to steer her show in the right direction and ensure that something "terrible" didn't air? He said he knew it was "terrible" from the outset, so why did he allow it to air before making the changes he felt were necessary? Let's be honest...the show wasn't bad...unless one has a distaste for Martha Stewart. The contestants were interesting as were their assignments. Overall, it was very well done, and it essentially followed the same template as the original "Apprentice." So perhaps Martha is right...maybe there was one too many.
It is Donald Trump who should suffer the fall-out from this public dispute. Shame on him for throwing a friend under the bus by bringing up stock sales and insulting her daughter. He disgusts me--absolutely too personal. Martha is on the right side of this unnecessary battle, which was started and is being fueled by Trump's fragile ego.

I watched both shows and was eager for Martha's Apprentice to do well. It flopped. Martha was too stiff; she should have been more relaxed and personable so her personality would have been evident.
Her daughter was pretty, but far too quiet and her body language gave the impression she was either disinterested or overwhelmed by the whole prospect of being filmed. Charles was the only one who showed any personality and made any attempt to connect with the audience. It was also hard to believe that anyone in business would have allowed contestant Jim's shenanigans and shameful behavior to continue unabated for anything other than ratings. I'll continue to watch Trump's show and I'll agree with his assessment of why Martha's Apprentice show failed.

Donald handled his rebuttal poorly, and it showed his character, brash and self important. Martha was classy, acknowledging it, but wouldn't say anything more than she was hurt by Donald's comments. Donald is not a role model or a mentor to anyone. He's the kind of guy no one wants to work for, as he'd knife you in the back for a quarter.

Face it Donald is nothing but a spoiled rich old man acting like a baby! At one time I did like Donald but after his first show of the apprentice, I couldnt stand his huge ego. His home is nothing but a cold show place. So I make sure never to go to his casino's and hope that his real estate venture in Jersey City is a huge flop!! Shame on Donald for attacking Martha's daughter. Well it shows you who has more class... it's not Donald !!!

There were talks of Martha firing Trump at the beginning of her version. Trump, being an ego maniac decided against it. The Donald should have tried to help her show instead of pointing out his version was better. He was an Executive Producer but he didn't care about show or he would have given more notes to the producers and Martha on how to make it better -

I liked the Martha Stewart version in fact I never really cared for Martha before. But I came to appreciate her skills and talents and enjoyed watching her show much more than the bad hair king Donald Trump. In fact I started watching her day time show after getting hooked on her apprentice show.

I like Martha Stewart and I liked her show the apprentice. I watched it every time it was on. I really feel people are dissing her because she is rich. She is living the American dream. You can grow up in a place like Nutley, New Jersey and still become a billionaire. Women don't like her because they're jealous of her, she speaks her mind, makes lots of money and has terrific ideas. Martha was treated unfairly in the courts, but that's what happens when you're a rich women in this country. If they can bring you down, they will. Donald Trump is a spoiled, hot headed brat. He can't take criticism, at least Martha receives criticism graciously and moves on.

I too looked forward to watching Martha and Donald
Apprentice's and thoroughly enjoyed both shows being
back to back. I was hoping to see them back to back
again this season, I had no idea Martha's show did so
poorly. Too bad, I was looking forward to another
season of Martha's Apprentice as were my children.
They learned so much about the business world and I
feel it gives them a glimpse at what they can achieve
when you get a college degree.

My opinion, Martha Stewart should have stuck to her own kind of show. She's not the type to fire someone as cold hearted as Trump (that's all that showed me) . Its just not in her, for you need a really nasty attitude to fire someone and without feelings. Martha is too sensitive as I see it. And I felt it looked like she was trying too hard to imitate Trump and no one could copy his dagger type of show. Heck I am glad she failed, for then I think Trump would have taken all the fun out of Martha's show. I cant imagine Martha as cruel as Trump, so I was glad she failed. She's not Trump! She's Martha. There's a big difference. and I don't think anyone likes or appreciates the Apprentice Show. It's a disgusting show, and I stopped watching it after the first airing. I did NOT like the Trump for he was so cold and cruel. His show is what sucks. No one likes to be fired and as I see it, seeing a woman copy a man is distasteful, and I am glad Martha failed, for that shows me she has more feelings than Trump concerning people. So Trump get a life stop being such a haggled duck and stop making all the noise, we know your father made all the money you have. So get over yourself. Get a real life Mr. Trump, and try and be nice for once (I will bet he cant). Go Martha Go. You ahev taste, rump does not.

at least Martha made her own money herself. as I see it shes more a success than the Trump, for she started with nothing and worked ahrd for every cent she made. It her own money.
The Trump was given his by his father's hard work i real estate. Trump bores me, Martha amuses me. Martha I would not mind sitting at my dinner table or her's, not sure if I woud ever be invited, but if she did, I would accept. But if I were invited by the Trump, I would probably decline, for Trump is a very stuffed shirt. But Mfartha invited me, I would accept, shes more cordial and friendly than the Trump. Trump would probably bore me to tears. But I am sure Martha can hold herself and everyone else as comfortable as any Queen.
