Alec Baldwin appears to be on his way to a role in Tina Fey's still untitled NBC sitcom; the actor is in
final talks to join the cast. Baldwin hasn't been seriously involved with a TV series since Knots Landing,
although he's had a recurring role on Will & Grace. Thus far, all that's known about the show is
that it will focus on the behind the scenes antics of a sketch comedy show similar to Saturday Night Live. It
should be noted that Aaron
Sorkin's next project is quite similar.
This shouldn't be a stretch for Baldwin who has hosted SNL numerous times now. I'll be interested to see if Fey, still a head writer at SNL, will try and split her time or leave to focus just on the sitcom.

Yeah, I'm hoping that she doesn't leave SNL. It's already a low-grade show, let's not make it worse people.

I think I saw something suggesting that Tina would be on SNL for at least another year, but I cannot remember where or what that was, so it's quite possible I'm wrong. I do love her, though. Having the sitcom in addition to her being on SNL would be great. Also, if the script from the pilot I read was real, it's pretty damn funny too. This thing is getting better everytime I hear who's joined the cast.
