I was one of the
millions who were completely obsessed with Dancing with The Stars this past summer. I remember seeing the
previews and thinking "This is the worst idea in the history of ideas," but much like my current obsession
with Skating with Celebrities, I was hooked after only an episode. That said, I haven't watched a single
episode this season. I mean, it's on on Thursday nights! I've got Smallville, Survivor, The
O.C., and Everybody Hates Chris. What was ABC thinking? Well, they were apparently in their right
minds, because the ratings have been going through the roof considering the stiff competition. As with Kelly Monaco
last season, there's been a huge breakout star so far this year, and her name is Stacy Keibler. Now, I'm no stranger to Ms. Keibler; I'm an unabashedly huge wrestling fan. I've followed her professional career since she hopped over from being a Baltimore Ravens' cheerleader to a wrestling diva in WCW. When the wrestling league got bought out by the powerhouse that is WWE and Vince McMahon, Stacy was one of the first imports to the new league. And while she has always seemed really nice, you can gleam only so much of someone's personality from watching them kick the crap out of other girls in a swimming pool of mud. During a poker game at a friend's house last night, he had the show on, muted, while we played cards. I started to bust his chops (not wanting to come out of the reality-dance-competition-watching closet myself), but all of the other guys around the table quickly came to his defense, saying I didn't know what I was missing by not watching Stacy Keibler. Sure enough, they were right. I had no idea what I was missing.
Now, one would assume that when you have 42" legs (thank you Mr. and Mrs. Keibler), were a former professional cheerleader, and currently make your living doing choreographed gymnastics, you're gonna be able to hold your own in a dance competition. She didn't just hold her own, she blew the competition out of the water (sorry Drew, you know I still love ya.) Sitting playing cards, I was completely mesmerized by the jive number Stacy and her partner performed last night. So much, in fact, that I when I got back late last night, I stayed up and watched every single episode that I had recorded on my DVR. Wow. Just the other day, in my guest Scrubs review, I talked about how Mandy Moore was a lot of guys' dream girlfriend because of her oozing niceness and approachability. I think America may have new sweetheart in Ms. Keibler.
Stacy comes off as being very down to earth, funny, self aware and just generally, "cool". I always thought that the fact that she was one of the performers that went overseas to visit the troops every time the WWE traveled, was a Vince McMahon mandate since she was a "hot girl", but I'm beginning to wonder if it was because she is so friendly and girl-next-door-ish that it would do much for the guys' self-esteem. She also visited the troops again for last night's episode, so maybe it's just a passion of hers. Either way, and regardless of your political inclinations, supporting the troops earns high marks in my book.
You can tell by the title of the post that I obviously had ulterior motives writing it. Who knows, maybe this article will somehow someday make it to someone's hands who in some way has a connection with the wonderful Stacey Keibler. I have taken dance lessons and can cut a mean rug if I do say so myself. Plus, think about what a cool article that would make. So what do you say Stacy, may I have this dance?

Just because you've "watched" her for awhile..............what gives you any "right" to want/ask her for a date. She is now a public figure, while you, a blogger, are not........

Stacey is a hell of a dancer and a pleasure to watch. She is kind and very relaxed. Her biggest asset is when she went to Iraq to visit the troops. Being a Vietnam Vet I know aht it means...thanks Stacey

Nothing wrong with dreaming, just keep reality into focus. Write her a letter, explaining yourself. The worse that can happen is that she (or a WWE employee) sends you an autographed photo in the mail.
I went through the same thing 30 years ago with a hollywood starlett.....so I know where you are coming from.
Your viewpoints were heartwarming and that is always good.
