I have a thing for funny girls. I don't mean girls with a sense of humor, though I think most girls have one, but girls who are "funny" because there's something not quite right with their brain. A cute girl is a cute girl, but mix in a bit of mental imbalance and I'm over the edge. Oh, my proclivity for insane chicks.

I don't know if actress Kerri Kenney-Silver is actually off her rocker, but most of her characters are. These days she can be seen playing Deputy Trudy Wiegel on Reno 911! with some of her fellow cast members from MTV's The State. As Wiegel, the manic depressive scatterbrain, she tosses out some of the best non sequiturs on the show, and her character's habit of saying the most unimaginably inappropriate things is hilarious. In one of my favorite Wiegel moments the other cops are discussing racism in the workplace. The discussion ends, there's a pause, and Wiegel innocently asks, "Can I say, 'Which n***** took the last donut?'"

Before Reno 911! and The State she appeared on You Wrote It, You Watch It in which her and other members of The State reenacted embarrassing moments sent in by readers. The show was hosted by Jon Stewart and lasted only one year. During the early nineties when The State was being embraced by young viewers and panned by critics she sang and played bass in the rock/noise band Cake Like, despite not knowing how to play her instrument when the band started. The band released three albums and split in 1999.

After The State, she moved from MTV to Comedy Central with the show Viva Variety! where her and Thomas Lennon (Lt. Dangle from Reno) played divorced hosts of a mock variety program. The show didn't stick around very long, possibly because people took it at face value and thought it was just another lame variety show rather than a parody of one. These days, besides working on Reno 911! (including an upcoming movie) she also does voiceovers for several cartoons.

Also, she apparently appeared in the Troma film Terror Firmer as "Woman with Eyeball in Her Cleavage." I figure if anyone could pull of a role like that one, it's my girl Kerri.
