Idol lies

Did you enjoy the American Idol auditions last night, from Austin, Texas? Here's some
odd news for you:
They
weren't filmed in Austin, Texas!
That's right. Seacrest did his intros, etc from Austin, but actual audtions
took place in San Francisco, because Hurricane Katrina/Rita evacuees were in Austin at the time. So they flew
the contestants to San Francisco and had them audition for the judges there.
Now, this isn't a big deal,
but why not say it during the telecast?

Let's see, the hurricane evacuees were in Austin(I'm surprised, cos some of them are too busy fighting with Houstonians over territorial issues), which would mean there wouldn't be a place to hold the auditions there. Remember 10's of thousands of talentless people and the talented audition at these auditions. There are so many places in a city that can hold that many people.
I could care less what "Idol" does anymore...I'm already disappointed in some of the judges' decisions. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be like season 3 where the good ones are eliminated and we are stuck with a singer whose voice drives me nuts(LaToya London should have won that year).

Also, in the regular San Francisco auditions there was that guy from Elk Grove, CA who said he sounded like Clay Aiken. The judges weren't kind to him, Simon in particular. However, that kid was interviewed on local Sacramento TV and he said that his audition was actually during the period after Simon had walked out. The comments they showed Simon making were actually said to someone else, they just edited it to make it look like it was said to him instead.

What? You mean those auditions didn't go exactly as they portrayed that they did? Are you insinuating that the video was manipulated for the greatest dramatic effect? I am shocked...SHOCKED...at the mere suggestion!

people will complain about how rude and mean simon is to the contestants, but they will continue to watch american idol. most people will tune into the show just to hear what simon says to everyone.

ok so this is "american idol" nothing would suprise me with this show...but there are times when simon is just way to rude....maybe he should think about the fact that these people do take the time to get to the audition and get on stage whether they suck or not...and he really should not be suck a jerk....

WHO CARES??????? really, what difference does it make WHERE the auditions were? The decision was not made to deceive anyone, it was simply a decision made so that the show could continue as planned. Idol has no obligation to tell the viewers everything!!! If they did, they would spend half the show explaining crap we care nothing about. Really guys, it is not a big deal. They also do not show each audition in its entirety, nor do they show every contestant. Do you know they also, are'nt always drinking Coke in those red Coke cups!!!!!!!GASP!!!!!!How dare they mislead us, trick us into drinking Coke instead of Pepsi!!!! It must be a conspiracy. Maybe they should have just cancelled the Austin auditions after promising those inspiring singers, good or bad, a chance.Anyone who takes this decision personal, you need a life outside of TV. GEEZ.

What difference would it have made if they had stated the truth? I don't understand their need to hide it. Very strange.

They seem to do a lot of editing making certain comments appear as though they are directed at one contestant but are actually aimed at another. It also appears that some of the "shown" contestants aren't from that episode at all.
Again, who cares ...

I don't even know why this show is on the air anyways. Like my dear old pappy used to say, " If they were singing for an outhouse, they wouldn't even get a smell."

Let's face it. The show is scripted and contrived. They pay Simon to be a jerk but they also pay the people we all love to watch make idiots of themselves. Most of the talented singers don't see Simon, Randy, and Paula until very late in the process as other people have weeded out those that don't fit a predetermined profile. You just have to realize that they do this to get ratings and to get us to watch - that's show biz...
