All the cool kids are doing it.
Blogs, that is. Keith Olbermann has one, Brian Williams and NBC News have one. Heck, even Rosie O'Donnell has one. Now, CNN's Anderson Cooper has started a blog at the cnn.com site. You can leave
comments, and Cooper actually seems to be updated it rather frequently, and if he doesn't, he has a guest blogger from
CNN fill in for him.

Here's a little bit of trivia for you...Anderson Cooper is the son of what well-known name synonymous with money and it's not the Kennedys! :)
If you didn't guess correctly...the Vanderbilts! His mother is none other than Gloria Vanderbilt.

Anderson's father, Wyatt Cooper was raised near here on the MS/AL state line near Quitman,MS. and Butler,AL. He is a distant cousin to me on the Boykin family side(Wyatt's family). Keep up the good coverage Anderson.

Dear Anderson,
As a survivor of a Massive Cerebral Hemmorage (Brain Aneurysm) I am well aware of the ability to medically predict these life-threatening conditions with simple tests that HMO's often avoid to save money. Moreover, Brain Aneurysm survivors have a wide range of outcomes to their condition, and this should be shared with the public.

I think Anderson is the most handsome, brainy, witty, smart, GO-getter type of reporter there is. We need more free thinkers like him and i bet America will be even a more better place to live in.

I've been watching Anderson since before he became famous. I've always admired his good nature and "boy next door" persona. I knew he was going to be a success and I don't think it stops here.
His parents must have raised him very well. He seems very grounded and even though none of us really know him at all, he makes us feel like we do because so much of his personality shines through his work. Growing up with that kind of family wealth could have turned him into a spoiled rich brat but instead he seems like the nicest, most sincere guy on television today. Because of that I trust him to bring me accurate information everyday.
He reminds me of some of the good old boys in our little town, who would be much more comfortable having a cup of coffee with a couple farmers in a diner, than brunch in a business suit with acquaintances.
Congratulations on the success of your show Anderson, you really have earned it!

Dear Anderson,
You are a joy to behold and I know your parents are so proud of you. I admire your passion, your caring and your intellect. Please say something to your boss about this black out on Danish cartoons. We need to know what we are going to war over. After all, legos, and cartoons have contributed to this Muslim fire off.
Please, you tell your bosses they are violating the freedom of press

Mr. Cooper, you are repulsive. I cannot believe they allow a homosexual on TV. please do society a favor, and resign, and try to find God before it is too late.
I would like to enjoy CNN at 10:00 and I cannot because of a fudging packing homosexual
Sincerely

When I found out Anderson Cooper was Gloria Vanderbilt's son it was a real surprise. He strikes me as a very kind, compassionate person. I wish him all the best. P.S. If anyone does monitor this site I would like them to know I find comment number 12 extremely offensive.

I have enjoyed watching you over the years. You seem to be genuine to a fault. Your personal stories have touched me as much or more than some of your news reports.
I had a sibling who decided to end her life too soon.
My sister hanged herself, dying alone in a small apartment in SJ CA. She lived alone and was supposed to be on vacation. Nobody knew for almost a week that she was gone. We still have no clues as to why.
Everyday I am reminded of her, not always bad. My guilt seems unreasonable, but when you lose someone in that way, you can only wonder what you could have done to prevent it.

i really respect to Mr. Cooper. i'm from indonesia, i'm in broadcasting develpment program now on one of station television in indonesia. I really appreciate what you did in the name of humanity. But now there is something confusing me. Is ratings more important for television bussiness so the news is only cares about what the attractive to other ??than the news itself. from my heart, I love originality of your attitude as reporter. Sometimes it feels hard when we (as reporter) asked to act flat/neutral.How your suggestion about that???
have a connection with you is one of my dreams Mr. Cooper. I need comments from someone special like you.

Just Finnished Post Cards from The Edge on audio CD read by Anderson Cooper!
What a truly unique, honest and important American Voice. When completed I felt as if I had just sat across from Anderson and he looked me right in the eye as he talked to me and everything rang true. So thorough that I would only have one or two questions for him. Having studied American literature for 30 years I dare say Anderson could be the best writer (never mind the best journalist!) alive today. Reminded me of Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Steinbeck, Elmore Leonard and McElroy all in one!! I live in a tent in the National Forrest in Helena Montana and dont get to see your show much but wanted to tell you you can literally do whatever you want with your talents but I really hope you do as you are and follow your bliss. God Has Blessed and will continue to Bless Anderson Cooper!!

I just finished "Dispatches From The Edge". It was so true to the Anderson Cooper I have come to admire greatly as a CNN anchor. The stories you cover on air are always presented with such clarity, honesty and reality, but tempered with compassion and caring which is obviously straight from your heart.
Your book was intriuging, heart felt and totally engrossing. I started it on a plane from PA to FL and finished it within 24 hours!
More than once during my read I had to stop to wipe a few tears from my eyes and I can't remember the last time a bood had that kind of effect on me.
After I finished the book I just sat in my hotel room deep in thought for about an hour and I just wanted to give you a big hug and say "thanks" for sharing so much of yourself in such a public manner.
Thanks again for a great read and consider yourself hugged :)
