Olbermann takes on O'Reilly

If you're a regular viewer of MSNBC's Countdown, you know
that host Keith Olbermann has no love for FOX News' Bill O'Reilly. Or like or tolerance, for that matter. He has
(deservedly) ripped apart the Factor host, and named him a "Worst Person of the Week" more than
once. Now Olbermann uses O'Reilly's own words against him in a pretty funny, blistering segment.
You watch, you decide.
(Great impersonation of Ted Knight too.)

If they did this on a regular basis, I might actual have to start watching this channel more often. O'Reilly got what he deserved.

I am not orielly's biggest fan but some of olberman's stats are pretty silly...bottom line the factor get about 2 mill viewers a nite and olberman about 300k...also oreilly didn't mispronounce the names of the journalist, at least when i heard him.
This is definately just a personal thing between the two..i think they need to go on celebrity boxing...my money is on oreilly.

Seriously, man, get off the Fox bashing. I don't know what problem you have, but on a site like this, there's no need to make posts that are overtly political.

whatever Mitch. I didnt see this post as overly political at all. All Olbermann did was point out where O'Reilly (who is a douchebag of the highest caliber) was wrong. Nothing wrong with adding a little comedy and being funny.
Fox news is nothing but a propganda and ass kissing machine of the republican party.
Now, I have noticed a somewhat leaning to the left this site takes, and you know what? I am perfectly okay with that. If you dont like it, you dont have to be here.

Mitch, I completely agree. BlueZoo, if you watched The Factor you would know that O'Reilly gives all the money they make on Factor Gear to CHARITY!!!! You're the one selling out for not getting your facts straight.

I'd pay to see Olbermann without his hair piece.
If he can't report the news and make ratings, why not make news? Thankfully this jerk does not fill in for Paul Harvey, anymore. No, he helps that awful ESPN Dan Patrick radio show. He is a snotty liberal.
And MSNBC is awful. Changing the name of it will not help the ratings. MSNBC shows a lot of repeat crap everyday (weekends are a snoozefest). They put the most interesting show they have, Tucker Carlson's show, at 11pm ET. Rita Cosby a solution? I don't get it, and FOX probably didn't either.

That's the funniest thing I've seen this week. Olbermann is one of the few that put the performance artist that is O'Reilly in his place. In this ongoing war of wits between the two, O'Reilly is the equivalent of an unarmed man.

I'll agree with several of the commentors. If I want FOX News bashing, or conservative bashing then I can go get my fill at DailyKos or one of the other liberal leaning websites. I come here for news and plot stuff on my favorite shows.
That being said. O'Reilly has an open invantation for Olbermann to come on his show and debate or debate him wherever Olbermann feels safe at.
So why doesn't Olbermann put his mouth where his money is?
Let the both of them duke it out instead of hiding behind his low rated show.
C'mon Olbermann what do you have to fear?

LOL! That was hillarious. What was especially funny is that I often thought I heard Bill O'Reilly's voice somewhere before, but couldn't quite place it... and now Keith gave it to me - Ted Baxter!
To be serious for a moment, I don't think this is, for a second, very professional news casting by MSNBC, and in a way, it's shameful and indicative of the steady decline American media as a whole has been on.
On the other hand, O'Reilly and Fox have been the marching band leaders, twirling their batons at the lead of this steady decline. O'Reilly has done so many shameful and distasteful things in his broadcasting career on Fox that really, with Letterman, constant ribbing by Stewart, constant parodying by Colbert, and things like this by Olbermann, he's getting his due.
Actually, only may a quarter of his due. He's got a lot more of this kind of backlash owed to him.

Not being a steady watcher of O'Rielly, but watching enough to know how the show works, I venture Olbermann isn't going on Bill's show for the reason that as soon as a "guest" starts getting the better of Bill, Bill has the guest's mike turned off, just cuts away or yells over him.
At venues where Bill isn't in total control he doesn't seem to do as well.

It was great! I love it when he takes on O'Reilly--poking him in his weakest spot, O'Reilly's humor bone....

Bill O'Reilly is one of the most repulsive hatemongers to pose as a journalist since the Allies strung up Julius Streicher. He has no credibility on any issue.

Thank you Keith Olbermann for letting Oriley have a dose of his own medicine. I am so tired of Fox and the radical right spewing hate to anyone who didagrees with them. It's amazing that 1 or 2 thousand radio and tv stations spewing hate every day to destroy liberals and death to all Democrats. But with all that hate we are still here and getting stronger every day. Hey right wingers Hitler couldn't destroy his enemys either
