You know, I was about to chalk this episode to yet another lull-before-sweeps dud, but the last ten minutes
paid off big time.First let me say that The Shield must have gotten some hell for its use of language lately, as the "TVMALV" logo in the upper left of the screen was HUGE! Is it just me or was that new?
What was with Kavanaugh giving Lem the lures for his birthday? Was that a lame attempt at trying to win Lem's trust?
I think it could have possibly been meant as a half-assed attempt to earn a new friend, because Kavanaugh sure seems
the friendless type.
I will say this for the episode -- one of the cases the detectives work on was
possibly one of the sickest ones to date. Cutting a baby out of a pregnant woman? Sadly, I've heard this story on the
real news, so it's not far fetched. But it sure is disturbing.
Finally, some smart thinking with taking
the wire off Lem and having it appear as though he's going to take a dump. Last week it was bugging me that they hadn't
thought of a way to communicate with Lem, and here it is.
Shane telling Lem to take one for the team sure
is typical for his character. As we see often with Shane, he looks out for himself more than he does for any of the
Strike Team, except maybe Vic. He'd send Lem down the river in a heartbeat if it meant saving his own ass.
I just loved how Vic put doubt between Kavanaugh and Aceveda. Brilliant. Though if next week's scenes mean anything,
they'll be quick to work together again soon.
Oh, and it sure looks like Claudette has Lupus. I believe
one of our commenters said something about it before.
Off topic: Did you see the commercials for the new
series, "Black. White."? Weird!
Quote of the episode:
Lem: "What kind of person cuts a baby out of its mother's sotmach?" Vic: "The kind that should've been
an abortion."

Some bizarre problem with my cable system - or something--creamed the ENTIRE LAST HALF HOUR OF THE SHOW!! Thought maybe the problem would right itself when the program aired again at 10P, but no dice. The screen kept pixelating off and on and going black until about 10:50P when the network switched to FSN.
What a gyp…missed EVERYTHING. Can someone tell me what happened, or point me to a torrent I can dl?
thanx

Funny you mentioned the scene between Shane and Lem - I was thinking that was one of the best scenes just because it seemed to clear up some issues between the two. Sure, we know Shane is all about Vic, and they had a rough period, but I think Shane is coming back around and is picking stuff up from Vic. That particular scene seemed to really show us that Shane does indeed care for the team and he convinced me that he would do whatever he needed to do to ensure that Lem doesn't see a prison cell. At the same time, the fact that Lem told Shane that if he had to, he would do the time and not roll over on the team showed me that the two have moved past their childish actions and are both stepping up to the plate and heading into this situation with their past behind them.
Oh boy - the look on Kavanaugh's face when he saw Vic in his CI's place - that was awesome!
I also liked Ascevedas comment to Kavanaugh about how he used to think Vic was just lucky, but later he realized that Vic creates his own opportunities. Nice.
Anyone else think the cameraphone pic is coming back?!!
