MTV's gay and lesbian Logo network is teaming up with comedian "Ant" (most of you
will remember him from Last Comic Standing) to seek out gay life in small town America. For US of
ANT the comedian will travel across the United States and visit random towns to see how the gay
community is getting along. The comedian claims he'll be throwing a dart at a map to decide where to go, though I
imagine a more scientific approach will probably be used. Or not.
Those of us who grew up in small towns know they don't always embrace alternative lifestyles. The idea has possibilities, and it will be interesting to see what the show does with its subject matter.

Although the show has admitted possibilty, the unfunny Ant is the worst person to host the show.
On a pure standup comic analysis, his material was about 10% original, with the rest comprising of jokes that have been around forever (though ones that many may not have heard). His delivery (and material) is essentially one-note as well. Beyond that, he was just plain annoying.
Hopefully, when the 4th season of "Last Comic Standing" returns this summer they won't "check-in" with him of the former contestents.

So he will be visiting small towns, or as gay people call them, "hell".

I love Ant...glad to hear about the show. And his material is original, engaging and wildly funny. Boy do I dislike homophobes whose pathetic existance on earth is to disparage anyone who doesn't think like them. Go Ant! Can't wait for your show. --A gay guy in a small town.
