I was starting to fall in love with this show after the first episode. Like most relationships, early on
it had so much potential. I could really see us spending time together, getting to know each other every Thursday night
at 8:30. But like most relationships, this one has started to turn sour, and like some women, will ultimately
confuse you and make you sad until you are a bitter shell of the man you once used to be.
Um, where was I? Oh yeah: Four Kings. It's kinda lame now.
Not only was this episode kinda unfunny, it might even be dangerous. I don't want all you kids with your skateboards and your baggy jeans and your cigarettes latching on to the game played in this episode: "Chest," where you sneak up on a buddy and punch him right in the chest as hard as you can. I mean, don't people die from stuff like that? This could turn into one of those sitcom lawsuits.
I do like that fact that they have brought a woman into the mix, the friend that Ben tries to set up with Barry but Barry is too screwed up and insecure to think it's anything but a practical joke. It's not. She's funny and cool and cute so Ben starts to date her. It does give Seth Green a chance to do his wacky anger thing, though it's getting a bit old.
I still think there are too many people in this cast. They should have one of the guys move away or something. But then they'd have to change the title. Maybe Three's A Crowd or Four Minus One. But I think it would be a cleaner, funnier show. It's not terrible, but it has quickly soared into the territory that many other NBC Thursday comedies have been in over the years: in between a couple of successful shows, but for how long?
I really want to like this show. There's so much potential. Right now it sort of gets a shrug, but I'll keep watching.

This show is nothing but a flimsy idea - 4 friends live together - and that's it. Seth Green is a little ball of rage, which could be funny (it's Seth) but it got old in the first episode as it was seemingly based on very little. The rest of the cast give nothing performamces as well, you could easily swap all their "characters" around and the show would be exactly the same - Committed had stronger characters than this and it was rubbish as well.

I still like this show. I mean, the games and stuff that they play are exactly like guys do when they are together. If they are with friends, then they tend to play stupid games that are only fun with that small group really. I mean, when me and some friends went to a house out of town together for a weekend, we played a game with a ball, stairs, and "pantsing" that will never be duplicated. That is the way that guys goof off. The comedy is still good on this show. I agree about the angry Seth Green thing, but it is still his schtick. The other guys are fun. I mean, you have the main character that is fun to watch with him being well rounded, and then you have the other two that are polar opposites and have a lot of fun together. So, I will continue watching it because it is a lot of fun, and hasn't lost the enjoyment of a buddy comedy.

That's a real game though, but me and my friends called it "open" chest.
My friend caught me coming around a corner one day and damn near made my shoulders touch. I love him like a brother still. I repaid him with a shot that knocked him a good ten feet back, my shoulder hasn't been the same since.
