It's been too long. Way too long. First the return of Battlestar, then this -- that's good TV.As we saw from the recap from previous seasons, we already know that the Strike Team, and Mackey in particular, is going to see an old crime revisited -- one that a couple of them committed. Namely, the murder of Det. Crowley.
Danny was looking very pregnant, and if you read this recent news, it makes sense why. Did I miss something from last season? I seem to vaguely recall she wanted a baby and asked someone for help, but I could be mixing the story up with another show. The betting pool in The Barn is hilarious, though the look Vic gives Danny sure seems to point toward him as the dad.
We learn that budget cuts means lack of manpower in The Barn. If they need to cut back, what's with the new Hispanic
rookie in The Barn, flirting with everyone?
The high school riot, complete with fists flying and cars on
fire, was a pretty intense bit of filming.
Claudette's hair style sure makes her look more coplike, unlike
when she wore heels on the street, but what's with her feeling woozy and the pill bottles?
And then we have
Forest Whitaker's role as an Internal Affairs officer. I have to say, I love his character; he's perfect. He gives
Aceveda an offer he can't refuse, one that will help take down Vic and also help secure Aceveda's position in
politics.
Mackey gets word that he'll be forced into retirement once he hit's his 15th year -- four months
from now. In typical Vic fashion, he tears the papers up. I'm wondering how that could possibly get reversed before the
end of the season.
Whitaker and the IAD is already onto Lem, so it looks like the shite's hitting the fan
right off the bat. The previews are some of the best I've seen from any previous season, and I can't wait to see how
everything plays out for what may be the last season of this incredible series.
Quote of the episode:
"You a member of the Varsity Taser Club, Weston?"

That's Vic's baby. They had a fling at the end of last season. The most distrubing thing I've seen on that show was his hand in...

It's the best show on TV!!! I can't WAIT for next week!!!! Oh, and my poor Lemmy!!! WHY did they have to bring him out in cuffs??? He will never turn on Vic, mark my word. On a lighter note - did everyone read the list of possible fathers for Danny's kid at the end?? TOO FUNNY? The K-9 team? Monnica (Glen Close from last season)??!! It goes by fast but it's great!! Bravo FX!!!

I know it's now been like, 3 days, so nobody will ever read this comment, but I picked up on a thread in this episode that I'd like to take a few moments on.
I know all these scenes have future episode implications, but there was a nice 3-scene sub-plot within this episode, that just makes me want to give a high-five to all the writers.
First we have a scene with Whitiker's character offering a stick of gum to Aceveda. Aceveda knows the trick, if you take the gum, it's a sign that you'll crack under pressure.
Next we have a scene where Vic's wife takes the gum.
Finally, at the end of the episode, we have a scene where Vic's wife tries to block him from entering her home. She cracks under pressure and lets him in.
Damn that's good stuff.
