CBS has assembled quite the rag-tag group of reality television junkies to participate in the twelfth
installation of Survivor. This time around, it's in Panama. Last fall's competition was so darn boring that
the producers really spiced things up this time around. First of all, the cast of characters is pretty interesting.
Castaways include a former astronaut, a karate expert, a female lumberjack, an attorney who calls himself "a
modern day caveman", and a woman who wants people to think of her as the "hot nurse". The producers are
mixing up the rules, too. Instead of two tribes, there will be four, and they'll be divided by age and gender. Think:
old men vs. old women vs. young men vs. young women. That gives them old fogies a fightin' chance! Plus, a lot more
castaways will be sent to solitary confinement on their very own island. Survivor: Panama--Exile Island

I pledge to watch any and all seasons that do not have celebrity guests, return guests, or all-star guests. I watched last season because I loved Stephanie, but having return competitors doesn't help the show.
I think they're on the right track changing the rules and mixing things up. I'm in.

The one thing I don't get about Survior is why they set up new tribe rules and then abandon them immediately.
The 4-tribe system is a great idea, but they plan on going back to the 2-tribe setup after week one.

I never thought this past season was boring. It had it's share of nutballs that kept things interesting every week. The season where there were all women and one man left in the last several weeks of the show was the most dull IMO.

I agree with you, Guido, why the 4 tribes if you are only going to abandon it after 1 episode?
I was perusing the names of the new players and noticed one calls himself an author and model, but nothing comes up when you google his book title and no images come up when you google his image. Looks like another wannabe actor type trying to get face time.
I really hope Panama does better than the last one.

hopefully, this year will be better. but, if they really want to have past players play, they should invite everyone who got voted off 1st and 2nd in past seasons. that would be interesting.

I'm glad you guys are finally giving the 'older' set a fighting chance with equal numbers. I have always thought it unfair to have only 2 - 4 people over 40....all the others young, fit, hard-bodies. Once voting starts...the oldies are usually the first to go. I agree with one of the other people...we don't need return contestants...or those who are already wealthy

I think it's a great idea to have the four matched tribes but what is the point of changing that after one week? The series always goes downhill for me after the merge. Why not keep the four tribes till they are down to two each, then merge. That way, the tribe members are even and they are eliminated because of some action they commit instead of the majority taking over and picking the minority off one by one. The show always makes you think that a majority member is about to be knocked off but most of the time they vote along tribal lines.

There needs to be more challenges. The last one was so boring, and not very well played. I am hoping this time around. There will be more surprises, and maybe get the watchers. The chance to vote off someone. thank You...

I think change is good and the new rules make it more even to play the game. To make it a real survivor story all the challengers should start the game 100% nude and half to find and make there own clothing as part of the survival. Also another good idea would have teams of races and put the cultures to the test.
